Part 2: Fun with Ace - Panama/Malawi/Haze

This run is a lot of fun so far! I’m just waiting with baited breath to see how these NMP come out and to make the final selection. Still another 4-6 weeks out The F2 generation should be very enlightening when I grow the seeds that come out of this.

Hard to believe these have been flowering for like 50 days already.

I really like the idea of a NL crossed with Ace gear…I got a couple Purple Killer Malwai F2 or 3 flowering now about a week into it. I got a afgan that looks very inbred. I think most of Sensi gear is inbred. Im not sure they mix the genes up very often. Be nice if they let us tour their breeding place…wishful! Your very open about everything…think I’ll go back and review this thread

The NMP in the picture has a tart tropical smell that I can’t quite associate. The one next to her has a cantaloupe smell. The Mexican haze also has a melon smell… maybe more like honeydew? Not lemons though. I’ll put my nose to them again after the weekend.

PH Crew

Seedlings ahoy. Was a little nervous just leaving them for 3 days at such a young state, but my preparations seemed to work out ok. Hazey high on the right (4x, orange tag), PH/AG (hehe, 4x, pink tag) in the middle and PH/MP (green tag).

Mexican Haze

This broad is no slouch. Not even topped, she’s like 3ft. It’s awesome. Caught a bunch of cal deficiency after I started messing with the nutrient mix when they were having issues with the N tox. But otherwise, I think she’s through the thick of it and still going to yield well. I think we’re at about 8-9 weeks. Expecting about 2-3 more by the looks of things.

Can sativas yield?

Indicas eat your heart out. This chick caught a whiff of Neville’s… this is the kind of mom that makes a line. Wish I had a cut of her, but no bigs. She’s got seeds to ride or die. Smoke her in a few months probably onto F3s.

This one fascinates me. Big ass calyxes, and pretty airy. A lot of haze showing through, and a lot of resin. Kinda like her. I think her flowers are going to be a fine smoke.

I looked back at the grow log here, and Sunday is actually 11 weeks from when I started the NMP. I think I have one that is going to finish in the next couple days, and another that will finish by next week. The big girl still has a lot of white pistils, and I think she’s headed for 13. Mexican haze is probably 4-7 days from finish as well. I think I started the mex about a week later, so that puts it in the 10-11 week category.

Panama Haze

Some panama haze clones fired up and ready to go. The two big ones need to get repotted stat. They’re drinking up those cups too fast right now. I might just flower them out unseeded and flip the smaller clones in another 1-2 weeks when the little ones are ready. The first clone with the buds starting is going to take some Syrian and probably Lebanese pollen.

In the group pic, we have the PH x Malawi/Panama on the left side. The right and middle with the narrower leaves are PH x Acapulco Gold and Ciskei x OT Haze.

NMP #1

This is the earliest finisher at just over 11 weeks. Not quite as big of a yield as the one that is going to run the longest, but still pretty good and really good resin. Smells very tart and fruity, definitely leaning more toward the malawi/panama both in structure and smell. These short height phenos are great. Very easy to manage in the tent.

Mex Haze

This motherfucker right here… riddled with botrytis. I was going to keep it going, but spotted it and then found it crawled all up the inside. Lost probably 80% of the main cola. Fortunately there was sufficient weight off of the main cola for me to get a decent smoke on it.

Nice enough plant otherwise.

NMP #2 aka “Tons of Fun”

Got cold feet about botrytis and cut this one a bit early. Glad I did. It was just starting to take hold, and I only lost a few small nugs. That mex haze populated my tent spores, so everything that’s dense and near finish is getting chopped.

Hot damn though, for a 3ft sativa this thing is bonkers. Smells a bit hazey and definitely a lot of Malawi coming through.

NMP #3 “little spoon”

The last of my NMPs is still going. I’ll cut her in a few days. I’m calling her little spoon, because her flowers are really bizarre. I’ll try to get some better shots when I take a picture, but she’s a little bit like grinspoon. Not to the same extreme, but similar. No chance of botrytis on this one, because air can get into all the buds easily. Not trapping moisture for sure. Yield actually won’t be terrible, and resin is really good. Smells deliciously fruity with a hint of haze.

Panama Haze continued…

This is the crew for my next generation of panama haze inbreeds. They were getting lanky, so I topped them all today. The hazey highs were super lanky (right side).

Got a couple short phenos in there. One of the PH x Acapulco Golds has a nice short stature, with excellent branching. Most of the PH x Malawi/Panama seem to have been dominated by the Malawi/Panama. After growing a few crosses now, I have recognized the Malawi/Panama as being very dominant in crosses. I might want to take those to BX2… but on the other hand, they could donate some needed bud weight in the BX1. On the other hand, the PH/AG has some great branching and a short pheno as well. I’d love to use the shorty if it turns out to be a male. BX2 or IXBX might be the next consideration… probably both.

Anyway, a bunch of PH clones in the back, waiting to get pollen from the newcomers.

NMP1 Initial Smoke Report

Trimmed this sucker up tonight. She was a very fertile lady. Gave me a really solid yield of small brown sativa seeds. And a nice mason jar of buds.

I ground up a few nugs and put them in the bong. Flowerpot vaporizer set to 640. Very heady high. Solidly in my forehead and eyes right now. I think my eyes are gonna get pretty bloodshot. It’s slow to come on, but it’s making my heart race a bit.

Terpenes are really good. Super clean taste and very soapy, a little incensey, fruity and floral. A bit of that sinus clearing piney menthol on the nose.

I think the initial rush is clearing now, about 15 minutes in. It’s calming down into a less intense and more tranquil high. Wife had the munchies. Very enjoyable!
