Part 2: Fun with Ace - Panama/Malawi/Haze

“High ceiling” meaning the more you smoke the higher you get?

Do you use tomato cages for most/all of your grows? I like how the plant is contained inside of the cage

Yea. Like how some strains have lower potency THC %-wise, but last a long time and just keep building every time you smoke.

I would guess it mostly just means that there is a high percentage of psychoactive cannabinoids in the resin.

No, I just did it for this one, because I expected it to get pretty tall. I topped it and spiraled around the two tops. Very manageable! I’d do it again.

I’d like to put my hand up but not 100% sure when I could fit some in but some excellent smoke to be had in that mixture.
If they could handle a week or two veg then flip how do you think they’d fair ?
Damn it’s been over a year since I’d had some Jack ,your description of the PHxMP sounds like it’s will be rocket ship ride on steroids type buzz .

I think it might be worth a try going 12/12 from seedlings a couple weeks old. Those PHxMP are sativas anyway, and it’s not uncommon to do that indoors. I’d really like to see someone run those and the Grapefruit x Jungle Spice in particular. But I could see all of these being pretty good.

I can give you some of the Jack crosses too if you want. They’re good bud…nothing wrong with them, just pretty low yielding plants. But they’ll certainly be boosted by the males I’ve used here.

Aw, man. Wow. Really hoping you have more of those grapefruit crosses in the future, as I’m obviously still yet to start my test grow (three more weeks to go)

I’m down for the Grapefruit x Jungle Spice for my next round!!

Those grapefruit terps are absolutely wild - straight up sweet ruby red. Never smelled anything like it before.

Having said that, the mental effects leave a bit to be desired, in my limited testing so far it’s a pretty ho-hum experience.

Perfect base for a cross, I can’t imagine what a mix with another terp monster like JS will do.

Same – so, hopefully the crosses will notch it up a bit. It’s more of a medium potency terp strain. Should be ramped up quite nicely in the hybrids. I think all 3 of the males I used are pretty rambunctious though, so the match is good.

For everyone signed up to test one of these, I’ll ship out on Monday. More still available if anyone wants to get on board.

If there are any left, I would be happy to get any of the Panama Haze crosses, with the x Malawi/Panama as first choice.

@lefthandseeds I’m interested if any of these crosses are still available.

Thought I’d chime in on the subject of Panama Haze started under 12/12. I haven’t done it with seeds, but have many times with clones, including rooting of the cuttings. It really simplifies life to not need two spaces for veg/flower. The only issue is keeping the cuts warm at night. If the room is warm, you’re all set. So since my flower room gets down in the 60s at night I only root the cuts under 12/12 in the summer.

Super Malawi Haze - Malawi Pheno (11 weeks)

This girl was more or less done. Maybe could have waited one more week, but decided to chop for the room now.

This was the Malawi pheno of Super Malawi Haze (Malawi x Nevilles Haze). Nice, floral and hazey smells. Fairly mild smell.

My other one is a Nevilles Haze pheno. It’s quite a bit taller, and bigger yield. Pictures coming soon, as I need all the space I can get for LDxCQ.

I have both of these crossed to Malawi x Panama and BD x BA.

Super Malawi Haze - Neville’s Haze Pheno

This pheno is large and in charge. A tall beast with nice big colas. Big dready foxtails with lots of resin.

Thanks again to @gr0wn for sending me these. My cross with this pheno to Malawi/Panama should make a very nice male to complement my Panama Haze, as I continue to explore Ace’s trios of Panama, Malawi and Haze. I will continue this thread in a couple grows as I look for males to pair my Panama Haze mom. She’s one of my (and my wife’s) favorite smokes of the year.

So far I’m thinking about doing a round up with these –

For BX:
Panama Haze x Durban
Panama Haze x Malawi/Panama

For IX:
Panama Haze x Acapulco Gold

For X:
Super Malawi Haze x Panama Haze
Black Lebanese x Blue Hemp Lebanese

Yea, the Malawi pheno is good, and I’m very happy with it… but the haze pheno is another level. Super churchy and hazey, smooth exhale and great sativa high. I just trimmed it, and it’s only cured a few days, but it’s not harsh at all. The Malawi pheno is more fruity, even a bit sour. Really fun F1 hybrid.

One thing that I found interesting was the “bluish” hue in the tent. I was reading the icmag thread on it, and immediately saw someone’s haze pheno from the color alone. Kinda interesting…

I can send you back a cross of the SMH haze pheno crossed to a male selection of their Malawi x Panama I’ve been using recently.

Hi lefthandseeds,

Today I found two seed packs in the mailbox from you - Super Malawi Haze (M pheno) and Super Malawi Haze (NH pheno), with a note telling me that the Nevil’s Haze pheno is A++! Thank you very much, you are one of the good guys.

I will check the moon’s phaze and start the NH leaners in the waxing period.

Interesting that the S Malawi Haze pheno I am growing has possibly the best smell of any weed I’ve ever grown. It smells like cinnamon/peppermint ribbon candy that our parents used to give us at Christmas-time back in the 1950s.

Thought you might like those. :grinning:

I didn’t know you were also growing Super Malawi. I really like the Nev Haze pheno, and the smoke is excellent. Those ones I sent you were crossed to Malawi/Panama. I haven’t tried them yet, but keeping it in the Ace family, with some nice selections. I think they’ll be very nice. I’m going to grow those crosses for some pollen and cross it to my Panama Haze mom and do some digging. Should make a nice 3 way between Haze/Panama and Malawi, with lots of phenos to dig through.

That Thai plant is so interesting. Some really beautiful buds in the bunch. I’m surprised you didn’t get much smell off the Jack.

Has anyone started any of the pollen chuck crosses?

The Jack actually cured up a bit after a week or so, and smells pretty great. I don’t care for the high much. It’s reasonably potent, but kinda plain to me. I think I’d like to try a better selection or cut at some point. I’m not really sure the seedsman freebies do justice to the name of the strain.

Really by far my favorite smokes out of these were the Ace’s hazes. Both were really great, and I’m going to work some more with them. The grapefruit smells great and yields well, but a little chill for me and boring as well. Surprisingly bad botrytis resistance too.
