Perma Dream preservation

Second picture is the rooting hormone I use. I choose the #8 because I feel it works better for stubborn plants. It’s essentially 8 times more concentrated than normal rooting powder.

The third picture shows how I cut the leaves when taking cuts. By reducing the leaf surface, it lowers the amount of water transpired. This puts less stress on the cutting. This is very helpful in the winter time and lower humidity. I don’t use domes personally.

The fourth picture shows the angle I cut the stem at. I than gently scrape the stem with a razor blade and dip in the powder.
Tap to knock off excess powder. Insert into the vermiculite. Gently press the vermiculite in around the stem and down.

Wait a day or two depending upon how fast the tray dries out. Once it’s dry but still damp water with plain water. Only use plain water form a week. On the 7th day I use jack’s 20-20-20 at 1 tablespoon in 5 gallon to water.

I generally use shop lights to root clones.

Once you see roots coming from the bottom of the inset use a fork or knife to pop out your cutting.

I than put the cut into solo cups and coco or promix.

If you pop out the rooted cutting and dip it in water all the vermiculite will fall off the roots leaving them bare. I mentioned this because of the picture you posted of your system.

Couple things I have noticed.
Warmer temperatures faster roots.
Warmer temperatures also means I need to transport in a timely manner to maintain optimal health.
Colder temperatures slower roots with the ability to leave them in the tray for longer periods.
Air movement is important. I don’t use a lot just a light breeze over them to break up the micro climate around the leaves. Also helps eliminate stem rot issues.
Since I don’t use domes they’re already hardened off.

The moisture should be a minimum of damp. You will be able to lift the end of tray and feel the weight difference.
When it gets lite I soak from the bottom. Always drain the tray after you soak it.
I don’t let it dry out completely, for me letting it dry to much has affected my success rate.
With the #8 woody stems will definitely root. The spot in between woody and new growth is what I shoot for. It’s a little stiff but not completely woody.
I think I got everything answered. If not let me know what I need to clarify.

I tried responding in smaller replies. I didn’t realize you could only do 3 consecutive ones

It’s no problem, I don’t mind reading, I’m determined to get this down . I’ll have to get my hands on a couple things and get started, i have quite a few new starts to work with. Thank you :+1::+1::v: I’ll post pics and keep track see how things go

Just remembered. The cuts don’t have to be big 1-2 inch. Details lol

Can you do this with a gel? I just bought a big bottle of clonex.

Here are some more pictures.
First one is a safer soap dip followed by a rinse. I picked up a really resilient two spotted spider mites from clones. They were headed to a gene traders show for sale, except the guy had a car accident and they didn’t make it there. I was one of the lucky ones lol

2nd picture shows how the vermiculite washes away once dipped in water.

3-4 pictures show how I use the fork to pop them out of the pod.

I can’t stress enough about taking cuts from healthy moms. I got a maybe 15 percent success rate with what I took. I’m normally around 90-95 doing it this way.

It’s still good for me because I’m going to save my library at this point. I’m cloning big infested plants so I have small plants that are easier to clean up

Very nice. I really appreciate all your help. Got my hands on some vermiculite , I’m waiting on some new trays yet. Been working a lot so haven’t been on as much. I plow snow and we have had a few storms, been pretty much 7 days a week last couple weeks. We have another storm brewing up likely to hit tomorrow, so may be couple days depending on this storm before I can do anything with clones, hopefully the trays show up. Lol :+1::+1::v:

Been pondering A mini bubble bucket set up , got the itch and decided to try it out. 1 gallon buckets , 3 inch net pots 4 bank pump. Ready for test run.

I’ve never done mini bubbler system. I’ve only done coco in ebb and flow.
Plowing is rough. I’m not sure I could do those hours.

Figured I would try it , im thinking would be good for closet grow , maybe small tent or dishwasher tent as my buddy calls it. Was thinking would be good to test my strains or autos, would speed of hydro with minimal space, run multi strain in roughly give it take depending on veg time same size area as a 5 gal . Figured idea and a few pics. Maybe a log on the grow. Might help out someone wanting to do hydro in smaller grow area. Thinking autos for test run :+1::+1::v:

Looking great. Looks like it’s getting crowded lol

Yes it is. I forget how quick the trough plants grow. Trial run on mini buckets. Icc #5 in them. Cloner tub I made a while back with some cuttings that been in for a while. Couple have roots one has been transplanted ,your method is next , changing things up. Not seeding the big plants out for crosses. Just gonna flower them. I have couple clones of Perma Dream, I really don’t need a million seeds.I’d also like to get a couple more clones from romulan and Jamaican haze, the only 2 not in the tent. Not to mention I kinda need to try the new crosses out see what’s what. Romulan and Jamaican will be Perfect for trying your cloning method :+1::+1::v:

That’s awesome. So many to try it’s insane. My buddy is like the clone whisperer. Every time I talk to him he has like 10+ new things.
I got to a point where I would only take something if he gave me two. One for immediate flower just to see.
He had stuff for years he had never seen finished.
Any questions just ask. I’ll get back as soon as I can.
The Jamaican haze sounds great. Looking forward to seeing the progress
