Outmotherfuckingstanding, my brother
Hey @BIGJ that’s a beautiful grow.
Pulling up a chair.
And the nutrients , how is going?
new nutrients?
It’s going good my friend, as far as Nutrients. I use general hydroponics dry nute trio.( maxigro, maxibloom, koolbloom ) Botanicare silica blast, blue planet nutrients calmag + , occasionally some epsom and super thrive. Myco+ Root inoculant (soil) Nothing to special , as far as any media I use , usually self made coco peat mix with some worm castings, and some hydroton in the bottom of pots. Perma Dream plants are last 2 seeds I have so I went soil based for them because it can be more forgiving than hydro with my work schedule, anymore I usually run hydro and use hydroton for media. same nutrients. Any other questions feel free to ask.
Nice!! I love to see those leaves reaching up to the lights! It’s like “I’m so happy right now!” lol
Thank ya brother,-Most were happy. Lol. Perma Dream was a little angry. Been some long work hours with this snow we got, so they were little dry , tent seedlings same way. All the dirt media plants.
Watered all of them in and checked buckets. all good now. At the rate the trough seedlings are growing I will Hopefully be turning back the light in the next couple weeks to get things going, still
Having issues with cloning , maybe some day I’ll get It figured out.
I am about to flip my mother GDP. I let her bush out on purpose because I need practice cloning. She’s going to give up several different lengths of cuttings. I’m tweaking my DIY cloner and using two different kinds of cloning jell.
I think she has more than enough to play with.
What do you think? lol
I’m thinking you got a lot of practice available, that’s a nice little bush with tons of shoots . Lol.
@BIGJ I have a question for you with the cloning. Do you have air flow going over your clones?
What you described with the stem getting brown and white Fuzz reminds me of when I don’t have air movement.
Looks awesome!
Probably not as much as I should. I’ve gotten mixed answers from people who clone a lot. So many different additives and concoctions clone hormones…need good air ,don’t much airflow because it will dry them out. No air because the humidity will be too low… different temps , so I came here to try to get some solid advice, I’ve grown many plants with just clippings, but for some reason have difficulty cloning little miss Mary J. Can grow, make seed , feminize. Just flat out suck at cloning. Lol. I greatly appreciate any and all advice.
I can tell you my process. I definitely find some stuff is super stubborn to clone.
I use hormex #8
Vermiculite as a medium
No humidity domes
During low humidity I cut the leaves so they transpire less.
Low air flow from an oscillating fan
I can go into more details if your interested
Definitely interested, and extremely appreciated I have a couple strains that I want to preserve , so getting good clones to root will be important to continue them.
I’m going to tell you what I do. Please ask questions if I’m not clear in my explanation! I sometimes skip details when writing and don’t realize it.
I back off nitrogen about a week before taking cuts. I find they root easier if they don’t have a bunch of stored up food.
Ideally the stems are fresh vegetative growth that I’m using. I have used woody growth it’s just a bit longer to root.
First picture is the trays I use filled with vermiculite. I use this because I can find it everywhere relatively cheap.
I fill the trays with vermiculite and than add tap water to the bottom. When you see the top absorbing the water you should be good to go. You can also let it soak overnight. I do both.
Just before I start I drain the excess water from the bottom.
Looks good so far. I’ll have to get some vermiculite, and that is interesting about the fresh veg cutting, I’ll will definitely try that. I’ve always been told to use the woody section, I guess my first question would be about the medium… how wet should it be throughout, I know you said let it soak up and drain off excess, after cuttings are in the medium how should I keep it… should it just be damp or saturated it and drain off the run off. Should it have periodic almost dry spells. One buddy said to let them start to dry out a bit at stem to help force roots to search for water. I appreciate you taking the time with pics and details. Helps a lot . Thank you,
