In all my years of growing and helping people i have not run into this. Any ideas?

Looks like a good solution but watch out with the dose, Phosphorous has a lot of antagonists , keep us posted with the progress … beer3|nullxnull

@upstate
These r the ladies bow some purple leafs still .
It has been about twelve days they seen to be progressing in flower ! And purple seems to be dissipating at this point

Should I apply another dose !??
I can see little buddlets forming in the middle but I also see some small this leads as you were speaking ?
Should I put the cavern culture on it and boost the phosphorus and other nutrients ? Or just let it ride ?
You have gotten me this far sir

How far along is everyone else in the region ?

Boron deficiency is extremely rare in cannabis so I would think it unlikely to be deficient, but I do believe you’re onto something with the Dual deficiency idea. Could very well be One deficiency is masking the other. Looking for a picture of boron deficiency. https://agriculture.borax.com…here’s a description of its causes. Says it’s most likely to happen in soils that are Sandy or low in organic matter, neither of which was true in my case as I was growing in a pile of organic matter. Also says excess calcium can cause Boron issues but i have lack of calcium in my soil. Also says a lack of nitrogen can cause the issue, which in my case may have been possible. Due to the wood chips that were mixed in with the horse manure it’s possible nitrogen was missing, though the plants grew normally in veg mode which seems to rule that out. Only when the plants switched to flower did the symptoms arise. Right when the plants needed extra phosphorus…

Says that leeching can cause Boron problems, but again they are very rare with marijuana. Finally, we have the results of me using the hydrated lime, which rapidly solved the problem. That would have fixed either a Calcium deficiency or a pH issue but not a boron issue to my knowledge.

Great chart. Took a screenshot to save it.

I think I’d give one more week before adding anything else. Oh yeah…your picture…HOLY! Thats a LOT of tops! Your plants look like they are similar size to the plants I was dealing with. Looks like the hydrated lime is working or that the plants are naturally snapping out of it regardless of the hydrated lime. My plants seemed to flower quicker than normal the year flowering was delayed and ended up finishing right around the same time as normal. They’re right on track. Within 2 weeks of adding the hydrated lime my plants were vigorously flowering.
Don’t forget that hydrated lime really is not good for your micro life in your soil. I don’t know exactly why but I remember reading that. So it’s best to add only what you need to add as far as hydrated lime goes. If everything is humming along I don’t think I would add any more. If you had to guess how much do you think you put down and how many square feet of root space do your plants take up? I used a similar amount to what I would use for bat guano or diatomaceous earth or any other powder. Just a thin coating on the whole ground.
Glad you’ll have a harvest! I’m not seeing any purple tips on the monster plant😁

Makes sense.

My boron diagnostic comes from when I grew 30 years old seeds. As you can imagine, they were deficient in almost everything from the get go… most of them had the purpling top. When I looked around, I had found pictures portraying small plants with purplish top accompanied by a boron def tag, so I took for granted that’s what it was and fed them tap+veg nutes and it went away quickly.

Fast forward to now, I may have assumed a few things and ran with what I thought I knew :upside_down_face:

Thanks for the clarification, and the time and efforts you’ve put into this is greatly appreciated.

Since we spread lime in the spring before planting I didn’t do the hydrated lime.
I did a foliar of seaweed and jacks blossom booster. I haven’t seen new spots or spreading.
2 tablespoons seaweed, 1 tablespoon jacks in 4 gallons

Roughly I’d say a cup in a half .maybe .two handfuls of hydrated lime … the plants r deff bombers !? Hard to tell how much rootspace they are taking up ? Soda can stalks lol …I topped them to keep em below the shed and every branch even the one closest to the dirt are 4 ft …crazyness now they r about a foot over it and need some hardcore pruning …I havent made up my mind about topping them again …just need to figure out how to build a canopy for the rainy season …

Really appreciate the help … wood chips and manure must add lime before hand …so early winter ?
I put these in the ground may 15th

Hopefully there’s some kind of harvest !
