AWESOME! I didn’t think you would but still figured the polite thing to do was ask first and ok so top bud is close to ready to get hit lower ones not so much yet. That’s what I thought about with the %of auto offspring but I’m no expert by far on any of it so I figured was a good question to ask
The Sugar Black Rose in the back is about ready for pollen, but the JLO up front needs a bit longer.
I like the thick stem
Hey @ReikoX
,Good to see you growing again - how far along are you with your auto JLO project ,I’ll probably have to have a look above at earlier posts .?!!
I’d be happy to test some for you ( if you’re needing some tested.).?! ( in the future or.?.)
Do you grow any outdoor autos where your at .?
Good luck with this project mate …
( “ Auto- JLO”.) !!
Gaz
I’ve got JLO to F3 currently, fully auto.
I don’t grow outside in the desert. Just not a hospitable environment, plus lots of teenagers in the neighborhood.
Well this is a bummer, the Sugar Black Rose female I was going to pollinate had 7-8 male flowers on the bottom nodes. This is something that shows up in the Ghost Rose a bit and I thought it was from the Ghost Toof. I have culled the SBR, there will be no SBR F2. I still pollinated the JLO, but this is something I will have to keep an eye out for in those seeds.
Do you think there would be enough time in her to self pollinate instead?
Why would I self pollinate a plant with interrsex traits? I culled it because of the intersex trait. Besides, too late now. She is dead.
No I’m not suggesting to breed with intersex plants I thought the donor was from different stock.
That makes wat more sense.
No the donor came from the same pack of seeds. I made a bunch of crosses with the Sugar Black Rose, but every now and again the Ghost Rose would throw a random lower male flower. I always. I assumed it was the Ghost Toof because I never saw it pop up in any of the other crosses. It did, however, show up in a Poisoned Rose x Cookie Devil that Mr.Sparkle made however.
Anyway, I was using some of the same pollen and planned to make F2s using it on a “sister” plant. When I saw it show up on that, I just culled the plant. It was, honestly, a tough decision. I did decide to keep the JLo F3 that I pollinated for R&D purposes.
Well that’s a bummer. So the SBR projects have come to an end it’s a shame because they are really nice plants to grow.
Yeah, happens in a breeding project sometimes. I probably could have bred the trait out in a few generations, but I have other projects I would rather dedicate the time to.
I’m hearing ya, I was doing a project trying to get auto fems from a cross between Heri and an auto but at the f4 selection stage people found hermies in the mix so I couldn’t go forward with the feminizing round and not worth going back to the f2s timewise so it was project over.
It’s alot of time to get that far and stop but there’s not much chance of getting around it. Breeding away from hermi is another 9 to 12 months I just don’t have.
Here is a JLo F3 at day 40. I didn’t expect the seed to pop, I also didn’t expect it to be female. I had her in less than a gallon of soil for the first five weeks or so of her life. I added another 1/2 gallon or so last week. I did hit this up with some SBR pollen, I will have to see if the late nanner trait shows up on these.
Came home from a bike ride to find this!
Many thanks @ReikoX , you are a gentleman and a scholar! I’ll tag you when they see light.
Here is the JLo F3 getting her fade on at day 50 since germination. Not bad for a plant that I practically ignored in less than a gallon of soil to start.
Pretty maroon leaves. Mikey Likey.
Yeah, Juantia la Lagrimosa would do that too. I love it when I can see the lineage in a cross I’ve made.
I got my Juantia yesterday. Thank You for the seeds and stickers. Now I can decorate my new love making 2X4 tent.
Planted 10 GWK x JLo and 10 JLo F3 seeds.
With the GWK x JLo seeds I plan to pollinate the females with the GWK x JLo plant I reversed from the solo cup competition. Once I find the female autos I will transplant them into to finish.
With the JLo F3 seeds I will be reversing some females to collect pollen. Once I have collected the pollen from the females, I will run a Beam’s test searching for the plants that have CBD in them and smell the most like Juanita la Lagrimosa. I will use that pollen on another batch of JLo F3 seeds I will pop in a few weeks.
GWK x JLo at day 51. These are starting to fatten up, my guess is they will go 70-77 days. Still waiting on the pollen sacks to open on the yellow cup, but I stopped spraying.
