It was a success! I had a bunch of scrap coco mat that worked perfectly. I might buy some U shaped spikes to hold down the hoses because I don’t really like wrapping the wire around the stalks, but it will work for now.
The mat will also block out light. I’m going to cover my mothers’ rockwool cubes with it.

I fell asleep / woke up really early. Now I have a hankering for some OG Kush. About six years I did big seed run of a bunch of different breeders and mothered the nicest plant. Then ran it in every grow for the next few years. I have no idea which version I kept.
I still regret flowering the mom. That was back before the bonsais and it was hogging up space. I flowered her along with a tent full of her clones, and the colas of the clones were about three times larger than all of the previous runs. Which were all decent yielding in their own right. I’m still not sure why, but it was a nice send off.
I’m going to have to bring it back.

The water was overflowing and pouring onto the floor, so I gave them earmuffs. The mat also helps keep the pots secure and level.
This is probably the strangest looking setup yet.

Waiting for the lights to kick on. Here’s a nice chart. This is what I want to see happening. The coco seems to be way more stable than rockwool.

I was looking at pictures of when I thought my older plants stopped stretching, and then a couple weeks later when they actually stopped. They grew like two feet. I didn’t think they were going to fill the scrog net when I first flipped them. What a weird grow.

Crazy how fast they grow. It’s a wild plant.

Thanks. Yeah they are filling in nicely. I’m glad I reduced the number from three to two per tray or I would be in the same overgrown predicament as my other grow.
I noticed the leaves tips were darkening, so I reduced the EC and they seem to be responding well. I really like this setup. It’s simple and unique. The only thing I think I’m going to change is cutting the bottom coco mat into smaller squares for the pots to sit on instead of using one big long piece. It seems wasteful.
The Flair 58+ Lever Action Manual Espresso Machine (w/ a mirror on the stock) is supposed to be delivered Tuesday. I’ve been drinking like 8 lattes a day as a send off to my old machine. I still need a milk steamer, so I’ll be using the Breville for that until I find something better.
The weekend has been decent. I hope yours has been as well!

I’m doing another bho run tonight. It was leftover hash bin material from a couple grows ago, but it smelled pretty good while I was filling the column. Which was surprising because it was mostly crushed up already. I have no idea how it’s going to turn out.

In coffee news I pre-ordered a base for my grinder which was shipped out today. My espresso machine is coming tomorrow. I also ordered a used gooseneck kettle that I won off of an ebay auction and paid practically nothing for because I was the only bidder. I need one to fill the machine. I’m psyched about all of that.
In grow news I cut clones from three Cannarado’s Supreme Snowman mothers for my next run. I was going to go with Chron Don’s Burnout, but I cut back the rockwool and transplanted it into coco and it didn’t look quite up for the challenge.

The shatter is looking much darker today, but it’s bubbling nicely. I don’t think it’s going to wax up. If it does I’ll make edibles. If it doesn’t I’ll probably end up giving most of it away.
