Slick1's AUTOpilot Grow

I’m just excited to get one going and dreaming of that smoke! It’s actually crossed my mind to do a seedrun on it since it was finicky and you said you didn’t have anymore. Just not sure I’m ready for that kind of commitment. When you grow as small scale as I do duplicates of the same strain just feel like a missed opportunity for something else.

Reading that description made my pants tight :smirk:

I know I did say that but during my vacation last month I took a detailed inventory of my seed collection. I did find that I do have I think 10 seeds still in my possession. If you want to do a seed run on them I will send you the last of the seeds I have to help make it some what easier.

I’m actually relieved to hear that cause that takes away half my reason for doing it

My “seedruns” are two plant affairs anyway, although I definitely appreciate the offer. Now if this one turns out to be a male on the other hand I’ll take advantage of the pollen and do it. Plus who turns their nose up at anything with Lebanese as a parent?

I would not worry about that. Seed runs are not as hard as it sounds. Yes you have limited space to work with, but it means the end product will be of high quality since you are spending time on fewer plants and putting all that effort in those few plants.

I guess you didn’t see how my last (and first) seedrun turned out huh? :grimacing:

I’m about to reveg what would have been the mother and take clones and do it right this time with STS instead of wasting time on colloidal again. Had I just used STS in the first place though the 2 plants would have done the job.

That is how you learn, just think of it like that.

Yeah definitely. No one starts feverishly googling symptoms when things are going swimmingly

Sounds like me after a date years ago.

Damn that was good  And then I heard Homer’s voice in my head saying “it’ll grow back right”?

Neat, thanks… though I’ll admit, I was kinda hoping that if someone commented on my grow while I was out this evening, it would be in my thread where I asked for help 4 hours ago, rather than rubbing in a mistake I made a month ago. I guess I already know what I’ll be doing about it anyway. But yeah, thanks!

Well you really sucked the fun out of this one didn’t you? I either didn’t see that post or didn’t have an answer if I did (honestly don’t know which at this point cause I’m running on fumes lately). I was just busting chops, sorry if the timing sucked.

I have zero interest in in anymore. I didn’t at first because you need to know the sex before the plant sexes to use it which defeats the purpose. Secondly @JohnnyPotseed said he had terrible results with it on photos and if I’m paying $60 bucks for something it needs to work on across the board. STS is cheaper and fits that bill.

Thanks! Still have a minor deficiency or something going on but overall it’s gone smooth for me. Loving the speed of the autos after running the Thai last time.

No, ya don’t… LOL. you’re just afraid to spray a plant without knowing that its your only female and the others are already male… And I think the effects Johnny had might be related to timing? I’m gonna have to experiment a bit with a few fem photos and see if its spray early, way before the flip, or spray at the flip. The autos force you to spray early, 3-4 weeks is flowering anyway.

I am wondering now if I wanna use my photo blueberry clones to experiment with. Spray one now… Spray another when I flip. Might narrow down the timing a bit.

Its honestly 2 for 2 for me…

Its that backpack blower. Face the other way dude

You do when you’re only running 2 plants! How much would it suck to decide preemptively that they’ll both be female, spray one and then have a natural male and your flipped male?

OR!!! Now here’s an idea…

Grow em out a little. Take a clone and force it to flower showing sex. If its a female, spray it, if its a male, then ya know the main plant is also a male.

I actually had cuttings show sex while in my bubble cloner. Confused me for a little why one of the cuttings was showing pistils and starting to flower till I realized I had put that lights “controller / switch” in my 12/12 group in HA. No crazy lighting there either, el cheapo light for the cloner.

OR!!! Now here’s another idea…

Sex them with a 24 hour dark before continuing veg, spray STS accordingly at a fraction of the cost, profit.

Grabbing some popcorn to see how that plays out for ya… Lets hope @Papalag can show you the way… I don’t think any 1 method is foolproof though… I mean, your changing the sex of a plant with some type of spray. When you had your sex change, there was surgery involved… Its a little different  Can’t base your hopes on your own personal experiences here buddy

No surgery. Just soy, testosterone boosters, nutrient timing, and lights on while I slept. I’m the best of both worlds!

Yeah, little bit… it’s basically just the same as your issue, a minor nutrient deficiency popping its head up with that Gorilla Bubble I already nearly killed by overwatering as a seedling. Apparently she’s quite a bit hungrier than my other plants. Anyway, the timing sucked because I had just gotten done driving up to Philly and back to pick up another vape pen, since I don’t think my aunt and uncle want me there fully sober, they just don’t know it. :stuck_out_tongue: It was supposed to be for more than a vape pen, but my friends cancelled the game again, 3/4 weeks this month now. 'Tis the season, I guess! So yeah, a bit frustrated over wasting the whole day. Granted, it would have been wasted anyway, I don’t get any kind of material reward or help with my plants for imaginary dragonslaying either… but it would have been fun wasted rather than frustrating wasted, shrug.

I think I agree with @Slick1, even if it works playing around with the parameters for photos; if it’s not 100%, that takes a lot of the shine off this $30/oz spray compared to the $1.60/gallon that making STS works out to. Maybe for autos, since they’re so finicky and you have no second chances, but photos will give second chances, and third, and so on if you just take the basic precaution of cloning first.
