Strawberry Hill Seed Co

I’m liking what I see boss. What autos from GLG are you running? @Great_lakes_Genetics consistently puts out strong genetics.
I’m tired of loosing with my outdoor. I still do it. I spend a lot of time in my back yard. My sanctuary. I like having plants around. I haven’t had much success the last few years. I’ve got a non-functional hot tub sitting on an almost 8’x12’ deck. That needs to go. I’ve got a 2’ block wall with a 6’ fence on one side. Real solid. I could throw a cheapie up, but might spend a couple extra $ use fiberglass.

I ran the Adam & Eve GG4 Fast Auto F5 and the Dubble Sour Diesel x GG4 Auto.
The GG4 fast autos came down a couple weeks ago. They were pretty small but the weed is good. Probably my inexperience with autos stunted them but whatever. These dubble sour diesel x gg4 autos , those grew themselves and didn’t slow down one bit. I’m quite impressed with those overall. They were freebies from dragboat so not sure how many of those they handed out.

I haven’t put in a GLG order in over a year. There’s a couple items I might get. What I like isn’t real likely to sell out quick. Lots of good choices there. Always.

@sprinklememaynee right on man, hope you find something nice
I’ll be popping a few of those myself once november rolls around.
I’m crushing hard on the Van Isle Pink x OGKB 2.0 fems … I think I need to make a large batch of those. Turned out some ‘really’ good weed hehe

@crownpoodle , can never go wrong ordering from GLG… you might even get a Strawberry Hill sticker… they got koozies now too hehehe

@Great_lakes_Genetics , I am really pleased with how those autos turned out. They smell similar with a definate sour diesel dominance but one has a fuller, gassier sweeter smell. Flowers are dense but not rock hard , very nice though and should hold some nice weight once cured up. I’ll definately do a smoke report and tag you when i do. There were some other tester autos I haven’t ran yet… maybe i will try some indoor.
The GG4 Fast Auto F5 (adam&eve) are good too. More pronounced GG4 flavors over the TG F4’s I grew. There were 5 females of each of the f4 and f5. Though small , they all produced quality flower. In the right hands those will probably peform very well. No intersex or anything funky with any of the autos from this run.

I also ran Double Grape Auto from a member here and Durban Sunrise freebies from twenty20… No grape at all from the double grapes… kinda minty earthy and bland… and the durban sunrise , nothing really to write home about although one of them has a decent flavor and a good buzz to it. Again these ended up as very small plants due to my innexperience with autos but just based on the smoke , I probably won’t revisit those two.

@SHSC-1 how does CB due with FUCK-WET weather?

The 2 day soak is sniping my plants with budrot and I wont be able to get to the CB until the weekend.

I have not grown them in real wet weather and always run the greenhouse.
That said, these genetics are originally born from the Sunshine Coast at sea level, right near the ocean and surrounded by temperate rain forest… I would hope they can withstand some rain.
There were a few growers last year that took them deep into october unsheltered and reported excellent hardiness. Hopefully they hold strong for you but I would keep an eye on them just the same.

Thanks bud!

Inspection this morning was promising but this evening I found bud rot on the Florida Ditch Weed so that became the priority.

Gonna deep check tomorrow am and hope the overnight weather predictions are kind.

The mold got my last Bubblehead in short order. More sun, less fog.

I pulled mine a couple of days ago and upon cleaning all the leaf off I found some bud rot on it near the top.

well that’s no fun finding bud rot. Did she finish up okay otherwise?
Hard to avoid in most regions of the country. Here it will be a miracle if I can get mine to actually finish. It’s the gamble i took when i decided not to do light dep this year.

You’ve been growing a lot longer than i have. Do you think mold problems are worse than 20,years back. My local buddies who’ve grown for years swear mold is worse. Environmental changes or hybridization weakening strains? They think both. Even legally, I’m not aware of much outdoor, even being legal. Seems everything is under plastic or glass.

I think the massive exchange of clones with different strains of pm bugs and such is a big part of it

Wonder if folks running just Landrace strains do any better. You can’t even grow in the local historical guerilla spots the molds are so bad. Mostly bud rot of different types. Just PM might be “somewhat” manageable.

I don’t think that stuff factors in so much although some strains do seem to have little resistance to late season woes. Years of indoor cultivation and propagation is my guess.
Some times mother nature provides the perfect situation for bud molds … other seasons she is more forgiving.
Reality is the spores of all these plant decomposers are everywhere in the environment, waiting for the perfect conditions for them to thrive. I’ve had 2 seasons since 2016 that I was lucky to have harvests due to fusarium and but rot. The other seasons were fine except one where PM showed up on one or two plants right at harvest so they got tossed on the firepit.
As a breeder , I wish I could say “this strain is bulletproof” but I really don’t believe that any breeder can say that with any real degree of certainty. Some strains do seem to resist the end of season pathogens under reasonable conditions but heavy rains followed by high ground level humidity and cool temps is a recipe for molds unfortunately. Best we can hope for in a wet harvest time frame is to catch it before the losses add up.
Will see how mine do over the weeks ahead… fall is really short around here and winter is in the air. Leaves have been turning fast on the trees too so the count down to first snow fall is on now

I had no problems with the Coastal Blueberry last fall…we got enough rain going into harvest time, so I think it’s pretty resilient against mold. I hit it a few times with HOCI (just with the fogger, not dunking) and would use the leaf blower after rain
