ya I think things are gonna go shitty here right quick as far as the weather goes.
Highs thru the next 10 days or so are forcast to be 8 to 12C and lows -2 to 1C ā€¦ supposed to be -2 tonight and it is barely breaking 8C outside right now at a little after 1pm. Some of the Coastal Bluberries are doing okay and developed some nice flowers so far others , flower development is much slower. I canā€™t help but blame the temperatures thru prime development stage. I also have not fed these anything but water and have not done any defoliation other than to remove only dead stuff in the lowers. The plan was to just let them do thier thing and see what happens.
If I do this full season thing again, I will be assembling a heating option before the plants even go in the greenhouse. Right now there are too many air gaps to even bother trying to heat it. It is what it is. Not giving up though. There are no molds or pm showing up and the plants are still looking great so will just ride it out. I think I will bring the Blueberry Muffin and the Long Valley Royal inside and finish them under an SF4000. They should fit in the 5x5 tent just fine.
Also pondering dragging the shortest of the Coastal Blueberries into the main grow room and finishing those under HIDā€¦ could fit 2 ā€¦ maybe 3 in there LOL
I dunnoā€¦ stay tuned and watch me fumble thru the finish over here

Looks like she turned out nice eh?
How is she standing up to the end of season?
Hope she smokes nice for you

The weather here has been far from idealā€¦ temps down to -2C highs to +14 only one day of the last 5. Been cloudy and cool with lots of rain and only intermittent sunshine.
Today was thick fog, -2C and a thick frost on the greenhouse roof and the vegetation in the yard. Plants have slowed drinking to a point where I havenā€™t watered them in 6 days nowā€¦ hmmm. Every morning now the inside of the greenhouse is heavy with condensation but too cold to turn the fans on till around 10am .
Now all that said, while most plants seem a bit stalled and will not yield anywhere near thier potential, they appear healthy and I see no issues at all save for the odd spider mite and thrip evidence here n there. They wonā€™t be doing much in these temps so Iā€™m not too concerned about that.
So I press onā€¦ LOL
Today started with a heavy fog that has lifted to a cloudless sky so hopefully that puts some energy into these plants. There are a couple that depsite the conditions, are actually continuing to show daily flower size increase and the majority of them are getting frostier by the day too so all looks good.
Iā€™m leaving tomorrow for my first hunting trip of the season so who knows what I will come back to LOL

Guess we will see.
For a late season torture testā€¦ this grow fits the bill for sure.

I figure itā€™s still at least a week awayā€¦and thatā€™s fine. The weather is holding up, we had a bit of rain (From Helene) but itā€™s back to sunshine and around 24C in the day, 7 or 8C at night. Iā€™ve got one plant down (BBD x BC) and 4 pretty much ready, think Iā€™ll get them down this weekend. Thatā€™s leaves BS for about a week , and Iā€™ve got a Kashmir thatā€™s maybe 3 weeks (or more) awayā€¦so fingers crossed on that one but iā€™m not holding my breath.

Good luck with your cropā€¦and hunting.

ya it is what it is. I really should have dealt with a heating system at the beginning of the season.
One of our friends is going to drop in each day and make sure the fans are doing thier thing. I put them on timers so all she has to do it pop in and make sure things are okay.
Iā€™ll give everything a light watering before i take off for deer camp and with how cool things are I doubt they will need it again before I get back.
One of my friends who I shared my top secret treestand location with went up on the 30th and set up the stand. Hunted the next morning and got his deer an hour into his hunt. In that same hour, 13 deer passed through the spot. Iā€™m excited to say the least.
This is just the first hunt of the season, for coastal Blacktail deer which are a midsized cousin of the Mule deer family. I can harvest 2 bucks where I am going so that will be a good start on the yearā€™s protien supply if I can tag one or more.
The epic moose adventure, which is a lottery tag I was ā€œveryā€ fortunate to draw is in a little over 2 weeks. Hopefully my plants are close to being ready by then because they will be getting the chop before i go regardless.
I took a bunch of pics today, just gotta move them to my laptop and clean em up.

wellā€¦ you can call me an assholeā€¦ but donā€™t ever call me a Vegetarian hahaha!

I rolled in at 1 am last night and had the deer unloaded and hanging in the shop by 2 am and I crashed hard.
The hunting trip was excitingā€¦ rained like crazy but there were a few breaks in the weather. I took some pics of some stuff and didnā€™t get pics of stuff that would have been incredible to show you all. Had a very unique colored wolf surprise me from below , heading up the mountain at 11am. Hunting during the daytime is not something I am used to seeing wolves do and this one was in full hunt mode. Crazy how big and fast they are and the steep slopes donā€™t even slow them down. I took a shot and missed at 50 feet!!! the damn things have supernatural skills at dodging bullets. So , no prize for meā€¦ would have made an incredible tanned hide.
Iā€™ll post up some of the pics I did take a little later today. Got lots of work to do today as I shift into butcher mode.

The greenhouseā€¦ fuckin amazing! I was very worried as the forcast when I left was for lows below freezing at night and very wet rainy conditions during the day.
When I left, the plants had all white pistils, today they are starting to fade. Lots of awesome color and smells right now. Itā€™s like walking into a tropic fruit stand as soon as you enter the greenhouse.
Iā€™ve got a 9 day window to get these to harvest and hanging before my next hunting adventure and it is looking like the plants are going to finish up just fine despite the harsh conditions.

more later
I need a coffee and a joint

Congrats on the freezer filling @SHSC-1 and looking forward to images of your greenhouse after you get some rest and then get at it again!

Congratulations on the deer. Tasty eats :yum:

ya were I was hunting is a 3 wolf bag limit
It was maybe 6 or 7 years ago now that I had to shoot my way out of that same hunting spot when a pack of a dozen or more came in on my buddy and I at last light.
Here where I actually live, there is no closed season and no bag limit on wolves.
Hard creatures to hunt though, most often you see a wolf only because it made a mistake.
still unpacking ā€¦ Iā€™ll get some pics up in a bit here.

Sounds like coyotes around here. Usually never see them, but you definitely know they are here.

Tons of black bears in the area. Easier to fill a bear tag than deer at times

Scary true.

Once I was walking through woods at night in the Bruce Peninsula and I caught a pair of eyes at my head level to the immediate left.

Turning to face it I realized that it was in a tree, but the distance between the eyes and the size of the shine back at me (full moon) meant 2 things:

1: This thing is BIG.
2: I have no idea what it is.

Then i bolted and I saw in the dabbled moonlight and still had no ideaā€¦ but my first thought was: ā€œWTF there are not supposed to be Wolverines in S.Ont?!ā€

The next day we went to the Fathom Five visitor centre and in the taxidemy display I saw what I ran into the night before:

image

It was a Fisher, and the one on display was BIG but the one I saw was bigger. When I asked the ranger about it she was floored that I saw one as they are around but generally like you said with wolves ā€œyou only see them if they made a mistakeā€.

The thing is they have only humans as natural predators, eat porcupines and can kill animals bigger than them such as Bobcats and the Canadian Lynx.

If you fuck with them they can and will fuck you up so I was told I was lucky on 2 counts:

First getting to see one that close, secondly not sustaining any injuries as a result.
