Strawberry Hill Seed Co

Theres a massive graveyard down the street from me. It’s like a 1KM square and has a creek running through it. I see cranes in there often and there is a breeding pair of coyotes and several fox families and more trash pandas and skunks than you could count.

Nice. The area around me is a nature park type situation. Tons of wildlife by me also.
Only thing worse than coyotes celebrating a kill is a fox mating call :grimacing:

Lol. Even though I’m in the largest city in Canada I have this 3km to the south east:

And this just 1km to the west:

The entire city is intertwined with ravines and either exposed or buried rivers. This means there’s a literal animal highway from the sticks all the way into downtown.

A Shokan reservoir part of the nyc drinking water. 5 minute walk from the house

Looks like you close to some beautiful areas also

@Emeraldgreen nice! I hope you get to visit that place more often than I get to visit mine. lol.

Issue with bluffers park is there’s one road in and one out; it’s steep and long as a result and sometimes it takes an hour to leave or get down there if there’s even parking available as it’s a treasure in a very large city.

Usually the Mrs and I go on a day off in the week where the marina parking is free if you are on the water so we go out on our Canoe and find a private beach inlet to have food and smoke.

We often try to paddle INTO the wind on our way to these spots so I can pull out the parafoil kite I have specifically for canoing.

Last time I had it up and was trucking back along the shore I had several people yelling “FUCKING WATERWORLD!!!” from their motorboats cruising around

where I am at it is hundreds of miles of forests in every direction.
The town i live near is right smack on the historical Gold Rush Trail through the Cariboo/Chilcotin which is what they call these parts around here.
One of the smaller communities a few miles from town was actually originally settled by my relatives in the 1800’s… great great (great?)grandpa and his sisters. They carved out thier ranch and actually built the largest Cattle housing barn for the times. … that was a long time ago now.

DUDE I can imagine your ancestors cutting their way into there, then using that wood to build up everthing, shooting anything dangerous that gets to close… and then eating and wearing it.

 :+1:

I get to drive through it everyday coming and leaving my home. On lucky days I get to see bald eagles sitting in the trees about 50 feet off the road

I feel blessed that I get to see multiple types of hawks every week… from my own back yard.

Lots of Bald Eagles around a couple inland lakes here. I see Ospreys hunting on the bay almost whenever we go out near the bay. When I don’t see them I hear them.

ya we have lots of eagles and osprey here too. Osprey are wild when they hunt fish. They just drop from the sky a few hundred feet up and torpedo right into the water. It’s something to see.
The bald eagles always put on shows for us during ice fishing season

I see the Ospreys getting fish fairly often. It’s so cool to watch. Recently the missus and I got stuck in controlled traffic for 10 minutes. The Ospreys put on a show hunting right next to the car. Woman in the car in front is on her phone. Guy behind is popping zits in his mirror.
“Look around folks! Lotta cool stuff if you pay attention”. Thanks for sharing those shots, and your stories about hunting. Pretty special stuff you’re fortunate to get to do.

seems I neglected to post the garden pics from yesterday.
The plants survived 6 days without me and look fantastic considering the conditions they are enduring. Humidity is very high and it’s freezing overnight every night now. -4 C last night but the weather forcast is calling for slightly warmer conditions over the next week so I am optimistic that this harvest is at least going to come close to maturity.
No molds or mildews present but the plants are certainly showing they are cold with most of them beginning to form various shades of purple. There are a few clear standouts that will yield really well and a little squeeze of random nugs across all the plants feels like there is some good density to them. Getting very frosty and the smells are really strong. My neighbor can smell it from his driveway he says… I believe him LOL

The ground fog in the top photo looks like what I see most mornings lately. You’re plants look great @SHSC-1 ! Your hunting trip didn’t bug them one bit.
That was nice to walk into I bet…

well thanx
It’s that Tom Hill water only soil recipe I swear by… and the genetics. All I do is give them water and hope for the best !!!

@crownpoodle , ya that fog is pretty cool eh?
They call the Blacktail deer , the Ghosts of the Coast and it is fitting as when they appear thru the mist it is pretty cool to see.
Where I was on the mountain it is about 2000 feet above sea level , just below the alpine. We were socked in with rainy weather the whole trip, with a few sunny breaks a couple of the days. The fog was rising from the valley floor as the days warmed. It’s a magical time of year in the woods that is for sure.

couldn’t help but take more pics today.
Some nice flowers developing for sure.
First up is the Blueberry Muffin clone. It’s pistils completely reddened off while I was away and the whole plant is turning deep purple. Small flowers than I was hoping for but she smells very tropical and berry-esque so I am eager to sample those after the cure.

then there is the Mystery volunteer plant… bear in mind I don’t feed or water this plant. I just left it to do it’s own thing I am thinking it might be a grape pie x shishkaberry 3f2 but it’s really not possible to know for sure. I dumped a lot of immature seed in that area for the birds to eat.
The effects of the weather here can clearly be seen and also notice how far behind this plant is. I think this one would go into december if the climate here permitted such a thing.

Fall is fading fast here and the forest out back is dropping leaves like crazy. For those who haven’t really seen my simple greenhouse from the outside… here’s a backyard shot. Nice sunny day today and I think we hit 14C so thats good news for flower ripening LOL

took some Coastal Blueberry flower shots today too as it’s a nice sunny day

most of the plants filled out with some nice fat flowers so far but the tallest 2 seems to just want to form more pop cornish flower… however, both share strong blueberry aromas so will see how they finish.
