STS Mixing questions

I don’t know why, but half the time i make sts it turns brown when mixing A and B. Who’s got a no fail recipe for a very hard to reverse strain? I tried this one by khalifa genetics but no luck

What is your water source when mixing? You have to use distilled water, tap water will ruin it.

I used distilled and it turned brown during the mixing of the A into the B stage. I actually used RO a week back and it remained clear when mixed so it’s got to something about the mixing and combining that’s not working out.

only thing i can think is you got an old batch of chemical OR there was a pollutant in the distilled water.

I think i figured it out. I bought my chems a couple years ago and have thought that i always bought Sodium Thiosulfate Anhydrous but i looked at the bottle tonight and i had hand wrote Pentahydrate on the bottle. I have been adding the wrong amounts of Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate this whole time! I’ll try Kalifa’s recipe again tonight. This is good news

Did you add Solution A into B or B into A ?
A needs to go in B and have to be mixed up within 30sec or so…
I always used demineralized water instead of distilled water and never had problems…
ro water is just demineralized water right ?

No, but in my latest attempt it didn’t turn brown. I’m faily sure it’s a good batch. I have a journal on here where i’m spraying. In that journal I believe is my failed spray pics. I should get male parts and if so I’ll post in there.

Yeah that’s the failed stuff. It stained my sprayer brown also. Here is the same sprayer, tinted brown from old sts failed formula. You can see the liquid in it is now clearer. The bottom section is where the staining brown of the sprayer is still very visible.
