While whisking solution “B” in the glass measure, slowly squirt solution “A” into the glass measure in less than 30 seconds

The STS Process Step 1 (preparing stock solutions)
The STS solutions are mixed separately and kept that way until you are ready to use it. The stock solutions are made of two parts (A and B). Part A is always mixed into part B while stirring rapidly. Only use distilled water or reverse osmosis treated water to avoid contaminants that will cause precipitates to from.

Part A: .5-gram silver nitrate stirred into 500ml distilled water

Part B: 2.5 grams sodium thiosulfate (anhydrous) stirred into 500ml distilled water

Silver nitrate will dissolve in the water in about 15 seconds, but the sodium thiosulfate will take about 45 seconds to completely dissolve. Those are your two base solutions.

Stock solutions are diluted down to a ratio of 1:9 to create the working solution. For example, 100 ml of stock STS is added to 900 ml of distilled water. This silver spray mixture is then sprayed on to the surfaces of the plant you have

have always used this lay out, its work many times. was just trying to make half the batch. a full batch with me is just a waste. i can not use all of that before it goes bad, just trying to use it in a better manner and not waste so much of it with every large batch made.

There’s a thread on here where folks are injecting the sts straight onto the plant now with a syringe, so you really don’t need much anymore…

If u scroll up 2 posts, the weights for the smallest batch are linked

No thats just two forms of sodium thiosulfate.

Which is half of what makes STS.

Silver nitrate + Sodium thiosulfate = Silver ThioSolufate

This is correct: sodium thiosulfate ANHIDROUS.
Less quantity to add than the pentahidrated, but it is correct.

(It doesn’t allow me to edit, gives error.)

Also, I add a.drop of tween20 or tween 80…
The time I used STS I feel that with tween worked best.

Has anyone successfully made and used 1/2 a batch from seabrings video?
Figured I’d ask before I try it.

What do you mean by that?

Im planning to test out 1/7 dilution rate at first. Sebring uses a 1/9 but Ive heard the plants can handle a lot more than that.

Yeah I wanted the anhydrous. But that company sent me the wrong item twice in a row. So now Ive settled for pentahydrate from another company. Hopefully it shows up correctly tomorrow.

I mean 500 ml instead of 1000 ml of the undiluted mixture.

With the same amount of sts?

So 1/2 dilution even before the actual dillution?

If you did this and still diluted to 1/9 after I think youd be on that fine line of burning your plants and them being fine.

I think Holy Angel did a post where he showed the amounts his plants could handle on the injection thread.

Yeah half the starting solution before it’s dilluted.
I ask because in Seabrings video he says the scales used to measure the chemicals
may not be accurate enough due to the scales lack of precision.
I have a pretty accurate scale though.

I didn’t want to have another seed making failure before I even started.

im getting some dis water today and will be making a half batch with the lay out is howed above. i see no reason why that will not work just fine.

we shall see …

Oh if your scales super accurate you could pretty much make any dilution rate you wanted then.

Would definitely be better to go in smaller quantities anyways so your supply lasts longer.

Good luck.

Ill be doing my first reversal this week as well.

That makes sense. I could make a smaller batch and see if it works.
Not sure when I will get to this but I’ll return and let everyone know how it went…

ahh ok something went wrong for real.

the stock should not be this color.

fresh water used but there are chunks of shit in the final product you see there. need to dump that shit out and think about this before wasting any more mixers.

humm shit …
