Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends

Well, yesterday it was 92, gonna be that hot until Tuesday. But that’s weird, it’s not usually like that this time of year. It’ll be back into the mid/low-70’s in a few days, low-50’s at night. And I do vent the big tent outside. In the winter time, I run the lights at night and all I have to do is open a window and it stays cool enough, as long as I also open the tent during lights on. I may test it out this winter and see if I can keep the tent shut, I dunno. But I’ll still have to here to open and close the window. It’s not that it gets unacceptably hot if I leave the tent open, probably gets into the high 80’s, maybe very low 90’s, but I like to keep things around 74-78 degrees, so…

What’s the deal with that Bokashi? I looked it up just now, read the product description on BAS. It’s just, like, fermented compost or something? What’s it supposed to do? I’m about to mix up a little batch of new soil, 50 gallons or so, but the dude at the garden store told me that the Bu’s and the EWC I’m gonna use had been there for a month, so I may add some of that Bokashi, too. Seems like that might help with the old-ass compost I’m gonna use. Maybe…

Damn that is warm! Hopefully it cools back down soon enough.

You’re running LEDs right? You could probably safely run your temps a little higher with LEDs, maybe? But I get running right where you’re at, seems to be a good spot for most plants.

It’s funny all the stuff we have to make part of our daily routine for taking care these plants. It does make it hard to get away a lot of the times. Most of the time I appreciate the routine and time I get to spend caretaking, but I’d love to get most caretaking things automated for some trips away.

Yeah the Bokashi acts as a carrier and food source for beneficial bacteria in the soil, helping ensure that no disease causing organisms are able to take hold, out competing other species and helping breakdown the compost material faster. It would probably just help bring some extra life to the soil, I don’t think I’d hurt anything. Plus it’s pretty cheap and you don’t have to use that much.

Here’s a better look at what’s going on beneath the covers. It’s cool to the see the top feeder roots branching out through the top dress already.

Man, somebody else’s thread that I’m following, who’s using an Earthbox for one of their plants (think it’s Old-Ron), same thing happened with his, with the roots popping out of the soil and all. Pretty cool!

Everything is looking great mate, stoked for you. You are in for a good Christmas harvest. I too am an advocate for bokashi, I find it also helps break down organic matter faster making it plant-available sooner and like you said adds beneficial bacteria and out competes pathogens. It’s actually real easy to make with some EM, LAB and wheat bran.

Is wheat bran the same as wheat germ? I add that to my oatmeal every morning, always have a bunch of it around.

Edit: never mind. It is the same thing.

makes ya regular? haha

Now you can make some bokashi too. I did cop out and got mine from BAS, it smells horrible, can’t imagine what it smells like to make it.

Is that what it’s for? I don’t even know what it does, I just know it’s supposed to be good for you haha. Well, and it does contain omega-3’s.

I actually just ordered some from BAS, along with some neem meal and biochar. Somebody needs to open an organic gardening place in LA, they’d make a killing. It blows my mind that I have to drive all the way to Inglewood just to get some fucking neem.

high in fiber, keeps things flowing… or maybe my morning coffee does that :stuck_out_tongue:
I put some in my smoothies sometimes, it’s got lots of health benefits.

Dude, Minitiger’s Organic Garden Supply! Open up a shop, I’m really surprised there’s not one near you too, especially with the scene in LA. Everybody running those salts I guess.

I’m using Biochar this round too, not from BAS, I found it here locally. I put a good bit in the boxes and also threw in a couple handfuls with the top dress I did recently. I’ve had the same fuckin Neem oil forever, does it ever go bad? Maybe I should get some new stuff?

I’m not sure if it ever goes bad, but I did pull out a relatively old bottle that I had in the top of the closet in my grow room last year and it smelled real funky. I didn’t use it. If you keep it in the fridge, it lasts a pretty good long time. I just opened a bottle last week that had been in my fridge since April (unopened), smelled like neem oil haha. Foliared with it, plants are fine.

Dude, seriously. You know that chain Green Coast? There’s one down the street from me, went in there the other day to see if they had a couple things I needed (they didn’t) and there were these two dudes buying what had to have been $20,000 worth of hydro bullshit. Huge tubs of… I dunno what it was haha, but I was laughing at them for sure. The Green Coast in Inglewood actually has a lot of organic growing stuff, but that’s a 70 mile round-trip. Ridiculous. Everybody in the Valley, where I live, is growing hydro. Or at least all the stores in the Valley seem to be catering to hydro growers, anyway. Fuckers… haha!

If I had the money, I absolutely would. I’m getting really sick of being met with blank stares every time I ask if they have neem meal or pumice or whatever. You’re lucky you’ve got that Concentrates, Inc store near you. Probably a lot of organic growing places up there in Portland, huh? Buncha crunchy granola hippies haha…

Made me spit my soda out
I’m probably that person ‘round these parts :sunglasses:

Yeah, I was just joking around. Portland actually isn’t that hippy-ish. Or it wasn’t when I lived there, anyway.

More beards and IPA’s braa haha @minitiger

Nice tip, I’ll have to put my next bottle in the fridge. Mine kinda smells funky, but I can’t quite remember how it smells new… not my favorite of smells anyways, I don’t go around smelling neem for fun.

That’s crazy… I mean all those hydro store nutes are way over priced. Especially if you’re getting the full line of shit. Really if you’re that big and still spending money on those kind of nutes, you’re kinda dumb. I mean figure out Peter’s/Jacks/whatever cheap salts and be done with it.

LOL, yeah there’s some of those, I may fall into that category with my long ass hair. But, mostly dude bros, in trendy threads, drinking IPAs, haha, like Fatty said. That or you’ve smoked your rent, and you’re livin’ in a tent. Then you’re definitely looking pretty crunchy :grimacing:

Finishing up week two of flower in the 4 x 4. Not much to report, just lots of stretch. Hopefully the Blueberry doesn’t get dwarfed in the corner there, the GG4 is definitely outgrowing her.

Not sure what’s going on in the TER tent, but the bigger plant in the back left now is producing male flowers. It could be they don’t like the small bags. I don’t think there is a light leak, and they’re in a dark laundry room. Gonna let this one ride out, mainly because it looks like it’s gonna be some good smoke regardless. Also started to get some coloration on her too.

Other buds are looking good.

This one looks very hashplant-y

This one is the one on right side of tent, with the most pungent odor.

This is the one that’s herming, starting to see hints of red/purple.

Looks like they won’t have too much longer to finish. I usually go 70 days, these probably done in 65. We’ll see though. They’re at 38 days from flip now.

Looking forward to starting the next project

Just picked up a Timber Cypress for my next tent. They’re having Black Friday sale, 20% off site-wide.

Burn one and enjoy the weekend… :v:

Looking pretty darn good. Are you topwatering the SIPs at all? Sorry to hear about the TER herms. That’s always a shame. Who knows what could be going on there.

On the Timber Cypress, do they have a 3000k option or something a little redder? They used to only sell 4000k which had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much blue in it. I’m becoming a much bigger proponent of red shifted spectrum for growing, since so many of our plants under LED stay too compact.

Yup, thats what I got - 3000K. I wanna go more red than my 3500K now. Wish they had 2700. Maybe a custom order?

Thanks! Not really top watering anymore. I am going to do a soil drench with BAS Build a Bloom, but that would be it. They’re sucking up water, the small boxes need about a gallon a day. Bigger ones can go longer. No worries on the herms, just part of the way the plant is

Oh awesome, congrats! 20% off is a great discount. Free shipping too?

Yeah a 2700k would be good, too! Nice to know Timber took a bit of constructive criticism to heart. I busted Dan’s balls for several years about not moving to strips. They must have had a LOT of stock on the COBs. lol

On the subject of going redder, I don’t know if you’ve been following greengenesgarden, but he thinks he’s going more red in the future PLC products. Talked about it recently. And, after research has been finding fewer positive benefits to blue & UV than anticipated, Bugbee now recommends very low amounts of blue in LED spectrum. And recommends to not worry about UV at all.

Out of likes, but I’ll get you on the next go round!

Everything is looking great . Nanners happen and IMHO with some plants can be the slightest thing.
I still recommend Hortilux super HPS lol
