Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends

Baba Kush - confirmed females

Looking pretty similar, except the one front and center. They’re looking little rough, but now that they’re in bigger pots with organic mix, they seem happier.

Baba Kush - males and not confirmed females

They instantly perked up after being put in a cold garage and under 315w CMH. They may like lower light levels, or cooler air and lower humidity… these are still in 1/2 gallon bags and doing well. This light is on 11/13 so I’m hoping the remaining ones show sex pretty quickly. May cull the smaller one if it turns out to be male.

I think I’ve only bottom watered these twice now. No top watering except very light mist to mix in a small amount of EWC/Bokashi/Bu’s Compost on the very top layer. Probably another few weeks and flip.

GG4 x T1000 - both plants looking healthy. They’re in the smaller City Pickers, but these plants have the advantage of having a taproot, so I’m wondering if they’ll perform differently.

Getting some slight color on one of them, thinking this one is going to be T1000 dominate from the smells and looks so far.

Been feeling a little depressed lately, maybe it’s all the rain… oh well, plants are doing OK.

GG4 x T1000

Full disclosure, found some balls on the right plant.

I’ve found this to be pretty common with fems so far. I picked them all off, they only showed a few on the lowers in this case. I’m gonna let it ride, the tops aren’t herming or anything. They haven’t shown anymore since I picked them off.

These were flipped to flower on Nov 12. Somebody forgot to tell the Dosidos that she needs to stretch towards the light :sunny: :palm_tree: :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Bodhi - Baba Kush (Bubba Kastu x SSDD) females

The one in the front left corner took forever to show, and was under CMH, interesting to see how she grew a little different. The one in the middle is the only one looking quite different from the others. Stem rubs smell very sour to me. Plants on far right are just some testers. Flipped to 12/12 on Nov 12.

Baba Kush Males

The last one has a kind of weird structure, and was the last to germ, and has been the slowest one all along. I may cull that one, if I can find it in my heart… I usually have a tough time chopping down plants, unless it’s harvest time, of course…

I like the node spacing and vigor on the very first male, but none of that really matters, as I’m just planning on open pollinating with all of the males.

Hope y’all have a great weekend :beers:

I’m keeping my cmh’s, lol! She’s my kinda gal!

Lotta healthy looking plants, pretty work:)

Agreed! I’ve always had really good results vegging under the 315w CMH. The plants always look a nice shade of green. I guess we’ll find out if the COB LEDs make her change in any way.

Thanks for stopping by!

Such happy plants always hanging out in here. Love your selections. Hope your doing well, everything looks awesome.

Hopefully those gg4 t1000 finish up clean it sounds like a strong mix, thanks for the heads up. I just flipped one of those. It was one of the bigger seeds you shared and came out a twin. I also flipped 4 of the Agent Orange x t1000 with it. I have 3 of the Key Lime Pie t1000 in veg and excited for those. I’ll shoot some pics when everything is bigger. I run them small the first round.

Good luck with everything. Really like the looks of those baba ssdd too. That should definitely make some strong tincture.

Thanks man! Hoping for a smooth run this round… happy plants make me happy. Hope you’re doing great as well.

Thanks for testing them out. With the GG4 lineage there, I can’t say I’m surprised about finding some balls. Will be interesting to see what comes of the twin. Just keep an eye on those lowers, I’ve found that’s primarily where they like to herm if they’re going to. Would love to see some pics when they’re ready!

lol, yup, gonna be some heavy duty meds. I’m liking the looks so far too, excited to see how they turn out.

Baba Kush males getting ready to do their thing. Usually the males are quick to drop pollen, but these are taking forever. I’m not seeing anything spectacular from the males, but you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Already getting some good flower formation on the females, so it will probably work out alright with the pollination.

Baba Kush Females

So far very little stretch. Nothing noticeable smell-wise yet.

I probably need to get in there an defoliate a bit more. I’ve already been pulling out leaves the size of dinner plates, believe it or not.

GG4 x T1000

Left one is leaning toward the T1000 and right is more toward the GG4. I love being able to see the influences first hand from both parents. These probably have another 35ish days.

Amazing pictures as always. Very interested to see what you find with the Baba Kush. Looks like there’s a decent amount of variation in height and leaf blade width in that group of females. Those last 2 Baba Kush male shots are especially nice as well!

Thanks dude! Yeah I’m hoping for some good variation in the ladies and guys. I decided on keeping 4 males and 6 girls. The males are already showing some different characteristics, one has pretty a pretty squat bud-set, while the couple I pictured are more open and stretched.

I can smell something sour coming from the males, just can’t really place my finger on the exact smell.

Hoping the pollen is dropping today so I can start collecting it.

It’s about that point in the grow when I start worrying about running outta room:

Jack Herer (pHenos Nursery) | Grape Pie (Cannarado)
Rainbow Belts 2.0 (Archive) | Double Dosidos (Archive)

Everything is cruising in the SIPs though… Best. Investment. Ever.

Double Dosi just wants to be a small little bush.

Rainbow Belts 2.0 on the other hand needs to slow her roll.

Grape Pie with some slightly burnt tips. Not sure if it’s the soil mix or light burn, maybe combo of both. The lower leaves aren’t showing the burn as much.

Jack Herer just starting to smell a bit, still stacking up.

Bodhi - Baba Kush

I’ve grown healthier plants before. These are in new soil mix and I’m not sure what went wrong, but they’re growing alright now and I’ll have some F2s to play with down the road.

Broadleaf one - this one smells the most like SSDD, that I remember.

The others look pretty similar to one another.

Baba Kush Males
I ended up finding two of them throwing pistils at the very top

(sorry for the shit photo, this one was right up against the light - but you can see the hairs poking out)

I did decide to include the pollen from all of the males in the mix and dusted the girls this past weekend. Already starting to see some pistils turn, so that’s probably a good sign.

Day 54 flowering of GG4 x T1000

DSC_7378

Heads look like they are maturing nicely, though those shots are from the tops, which I typically find mature faster. The left plant (T1000 leaner) smells like a little bit of red wine, mixed with some kind of adhesive, but with the funky backend that was present on the mother T1000. The GG4 leaner smells more of some kind of chem cleaner, but not like pinesol or floor cleaner. I would say that neither plant is as loud as it’s parents, but, then again, they are getting smellier by the day.

Bodhi - Baba Kush - 32 days flowering

Four of them smell like varying smells from the SSDD, rubbery, buttery, berry, funk.

The one in the back middle has something nice going on, she’s stacking on the frost for one… and she has a smell different from all the others. Kind of reminds me of the RudeBoi OG at this stage, a floral OG smell. I’m guessing that this is from the Katsu Bubba side, but I can’t say for sure as I’ve never tried the Katsu Bubba Kush.

The broadleaf totem pole one has this kind of minty smell going on with the berry funk.

All the seeds look like they’re forming nicely. :seedling:

Jack Herer (pHenos Nursery) | Grape Pie (Cannarado)
Rainbow Belts 2.0 (Archive) | Double Dosidos (Archive)

I had to string up the Rainbow Belts, it was getting outta control.

Double Dosidos - @Greasy said she needed a stool, I agree! I thought about putting another little light over her so she gets a bit more, but at this point I’m just gonna let her ride. She puts out tiny little OGKB buds, we’ll see how she finishes.

Rainbow Belts 2.0 - stacking up nice. Smells like overripe fruit, potpourri and funk so far.

Grape Pie - not sure what to make of her smell yet, kinda sour grape smelling so far.

Jack Herer - Stacking up real nice in the back. Starting to get the bright, fruity Jack smells, can’t get enough of those! I’m actually really excited about having some Jack around, I’ve been smoking so much ‘indica’ based poly-hybrid herb, it’ll be a nice change of pace.

When I do stop by the dispensary I’ve been picking up more ‘Sativa’ based hybrids lately and really enjoying those more… so I’ve been thinking of growing more of that type herb.

Which is funny that my x-mas present to myself was some more polyhybrid clones!

Sour Diesel (SkunkTek Cut)
Giesel

If anyone has any good info on running these cuts, lmk!

As a closing note, I only had a few interactions with @oleskool830 but I was pretty bummed to hear of his passing. Life’s too short for us all. Onward through the fog…

Plants look good! I kept wondering what Rainbow Belts is, finally looked it up. It’s basically a Zkittles bx? Is that right?

How exciting! Haha, for real, though, that is exciting. I’m almost more curious to see how the Giesel turns out than I am the Sour D.

Almost.

Your main tent is doing great - totally rocking! A good case could be made for 2 separate fixtures so you could hang one high and one low for the different sized plants. :city_sunrise: But as usual, the rest of your plants all look stellar too! You definitely have a great thumb, man. Excited to see how those cuts turn out for you.

After studying some recent plant science articles, though, I think I’m going to spend less time and energy trying to push my garden to the limits with light intensity. Research into cannabis has found that light intensities over about 600ppfd don’t increase cannabinoid content, but do increase yield. So, now we know that more light produces more weed, but not better weed. I’d always found that 400w of modern white LEDs over a 4x4 space produced great herb.

Since I’m more interested in quality over quantity, it makes sense to not stress the plant with very high light intensity unless you also have high CO2. I’ll maybe back mine off a little bit, or not worry so much about getting it the lowest I can over the tops, and focus more on nurturing the plant health and providing an optimal environment.

Thanks dude! Yeah it’s like a Skittlez backcross with Dosidos - I can smell the Face Off OG from the Dosidos in the resin though, it has a distinct smell. The 2.0 is just a cross back to the Rainbow Belts #20.

I’m pumped about running both of them, more the Sour D, but the Giesel is intriguing. I’ve wanted to check out the Sour D for a long time, and I know there’s a bunch of controversy about which is the “real” Sour D, Rez’s, Chaco, etc. If anyone has any info on the Skunktek version, I’d love to hear your opinion. I also have no frame of reference to gauge if it is the “real” version or not, I wish I could send some buds to people that have tried Sour D to get their opinion.

I wish @anon60559124 was still hanging around here, wanted to run the Giesel after watching his Wolfpack grow. It’ be cool to do a side by side grow with his Wolfpack F2s and the original cut!

Thanks man! Definitely a good argument for two fixtures in the tent. It’d give you a lot more flexibility and better coverage. I’m so stoked to run these two classic cuts though…and maybe move away from some of the hype clones

Sounds like solid reasoning. We know they can only suck up so many photons (without hacking their efficiency with supplemental CO2), so why waste the light if they can’t utilize it? I’ve been really happy with my harvest under 600w LEDs, I couldn’t possibly see myself needing more herb than I’m already producing under that amount of light.

Quality, and variety are my main concerns now as well. I’m gonna try lowering the light intensity on the big tent for the last couple of weeks during ripening and see how it works out. I’ve been using the Photone app as a gauge, and while not entirely accurate, it will at least get you in a ballpark range.

Interesting about 600ppfd… I found that was where I maxed out flowering before plants were fading early - just plain organic soil.
That would be cool to compare the wolfpack f2 and giesel cut - Those WPs are still high on my list to try - greenhighlander certainly found some nice plants in them!

Well, shit… I guess I was following along for that entire Pura Vida grow, even left a few comments on some the posts haha. I totally forgot you grew those, which is weird, because I remember the Ghost Train Haze and the Purple Wookie you were growing at the same time.

It’s cool you didn’t top the PV’s; I’ve got a couple that I’m not topping, too, on account of the fact that they’re some slow-ass veggers. Sometimes I get worried about not topping and if the yields are gonna suffer, but it looks like yours did pretty good, so… Anyway, yeah, thanks for reminding me you grew those haha.

Haha, I was just messin’ with ya anyways. It happens to the best of us… I don’t think anyone around here is known having the best memory :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m glad I have some more of the PV F2s, it really was great herb, one of my favorite Bodhi lines I’ve run to date. I’m trying to remember if mine vegged slow or not, but I think they were pretty normal. I grew out a few Dank Sinatras at the same time and they for sure vegged a lot slower than the PVs. I was growing in coco/hydro at the time, so that may have had something to do with it. I really like growing out plants and not topping them, if they’re from seed. I like seeing their natural structure the first go round. One of those PV really stretched, but the others were just medium.

I’m glad you’re growing them out though, I’m curious to see what you find, as F2s can vary a lot. Also I’ve been wanting to run this Meangene pack that has HPK in it. Here’s what MG said about his HPK -

The PureKush clone I breed with is a plant I got back around 05, it came from a guy a block back off of the Sunset Strip.

He got it from some guys in Tujunga who were growing it at the time. It was being sold for 160 an eighth at the store back then because the few people who had it were growing it very well. It smells to me like OG, baby powder, weird citrus almost like lime but artificial fruit loops lime and some deep gross musky funk.

For sure easy to stress the plants with LEDs. If they don’t have a ton of root space in organic mediums, it’s hard for them to keep up, I think. I’ve been running my mother plants under LEDs for a while now and I’m surprised at how easily they can get stressed from too much light (and not enough feed).

Yeah, I always wanna not top, but the one time I did that, when I was testing Bodhi’s Mendo Sunshine, the yields were so pitiful that I’m only inclined to do it now outta necessity, like with the two Pura Vida f2’s that’re vegging a little slowly. The other two are vegging “normally” haha, they were topped a while back, so…

I’m pretty sure it was user error with that Mendo Sunshine, anyway, but still, I veg for so long and always have at least one “Sativa”-type thing going that topping’s usually a must. I’m stoked about the two untopped PV’s, though, especially after revisiting your pics haha.

Yeah, I saw that on speakeasy for the description of the HPK x Sky Cuddler. Cool story. And I’m not even joking when I say that haha, I always appreciate when a breeder writes at least a little something about whatever it is they’re releasing. I remember seeing certain strains sell for $100/eighth, never saw any going for $160. I’m not saying that he’s lying haha, in fact I totally believe him. Things got crazy there for a while. Plus, a “block back off of the Sunset Strip” is some pretty expensive real estate, that dude probably had to charge $160 an eighth just to cover his rent haha.

Anyway, you should plant those seeds. Didn’t you say you got twenty of them with your order? Might as well pop five or six. I liked that Sky Cuddler f3 a lot, very tasty and stony.

Can you describe the smell for me please?

I have been running it for about ~6 months, maybe more. I like it well enough that she is still around. She definitely has the look, smell and taste that is reminiscent of old school Sour Diesel. I can never really tell if I enjoy her more than the ECSD, so I just continuously run them side by side haha. Some harvests I prefer one and some harvests I prefer the other; it can drive me fucking mad if I think about it too much. It is kind of like my two female cuts of Black Triangle F2 that I keep around and work with. You would think that I would have let one go at some point, but I am a plant hoarder. I have fucking problems…

I have heard a story that Skunktek’s cut came from Stoney. Talked to Stoney and he said that he gave Skunktek his Sour Diesel cut, but Skunktek also had one before that. Talked to Skunktek and he said that it just came to him as Sour Diesel.

Stories are intriguing and you know, cool or whatever (I am also a lineage nerd and care to pay homage where it is due), but in the end, I care about how the plants stand up.

I have ran into quite a few sours that definitely tide me over whilst I search for the old school, but none of them seem to be the one. I blame it on nostalgia being a hell of a drug haha.

One thing that I will say about the Skunktek cut, if you push it too long and hard enough, it will throw anthers. This is true for most chem and sour cuts though. (Two closely related varieties, in my observations).

I have been making some hybrids of chem and sour cuts with males that I have tested the stability of in hopes of finding something that I enjoy just as much, if not more and is also sexually stable. I’m looking at you Chem D haha. Positive vibes…
