Unfortunately one of the two DeathStar Rephresh females started to herm. Shim has been culled. None of the males displayed any herm tendencies, and the remaining girl looks good so far. I’m keeping a very close eye on her. Damn shame, she had such strong sour smells.

Thanks! I’m compiling time frames for herm plants, and it always seems to kick in sort of in the first two weeks when it’s genetic. It fits with the pattern!

Just to add to your time frame, I noticed the male sacs on my Sky Cuddler Kush at exactly 21 days, which also sounds like it fits the pattern.

Today is 4 weeks in the tents. Everything is in good shape, not much to report. The Deathstar mom is visibly pregnant with seeds and I’ll be happy to share with anyone following along that wants to try them out.
For the next round (summer session) I have a few seed plants vegging:
White Nightmare F2 by SinCity (Blue Dream x White Moonshine)
Kali Mist F4 made by AKBB
Spitting Cobra by our own Baked Beanz
I also traded for a couple new cuts that should also be in next round:

Afghan Mango. I’m real excited about this. It’s another strain we used to have all the time in Ohio, way back when. Apparently it’s from Herbaria seed stock. It’s 100% Afghan Indica not from any Dutch genetics. CSI made a post a few weeks back asking if anyone still had any old seed stock from Herbaria’s Afghan Mango release, he’s trying to do a preservation project with it.
And I also got in some more cuts from a months-long backlogged order made with PNW Strainhunters:
Blueberry and Strawberry Cough (Kushman cut)
I doubt these will be ready by next round. As expected these had russet mites on them. Most were brown and dead (probably from some kind of spray right before shipping) but there were still some healthy white ones as well ready to make some babies. My favorite method for cleaning these up is giving them a scrubbly bubbly bath. A little castile soap and water and scrub them down with a toothbrush. Then spray them like mad with the sink sprayer. Obviously this is only useful on small plants but it works great. But I have to wait for the unhealthy plant to grow first, then take snips (followed by scrubbing), then root them. It’s a lot of work getting in cuts from this guy. I forgot about these remaining plants from the order and almost wanted to throw them right in the trash. But they should be worth it if they are legit.

I hope you find a great Kali Mist. Grew that one many moons ago straight from Serious and found some great plants. We made F2s and also did a Kali Mist x Blueberry. Unfortunately I gave them to a friend to help him out and he never grew them. I really wish I would have held onto them now Lol. Lost touch with the guy who got the other half of them.

Thanks! It is nice to have such a big variety of quality smoke. Some day I’ll whittle the list down though. I’d like to get away from stuffing the tents so much. I’m only averaging like 1.5oz/each from like 17 different plants. I’d rather have like 3oz each from half as many.
Yes, this Gooey is the original cut from 1986. Purely sativa mashup. It’s great smoke! I ran her small the first time and I’ve run out of smoke. Almost got rid of her but just can’t do it.

I’m all about variety too. I don’t really like to smoke the same thing two days in a row. I listened to Gooey Breeder’s potcast awhile back and he’s pretty proud of that one. If it’s been around for 39 years, it must be good. I also dig those old cuts that have been kept and passed for decades. I think the history behind them adds a little extra to it just being smoke.
What’s the smell and flavor on the Gooey? I would expect spicy and tropical fruity.

have you noticed that your forbidden fruit is heavy feeder? is is the “original” cut? i’m growing some s1 from CSI and they are impossible to keep happy

I don’t get much fruitiness at all from the cured herb. Spicy is a good description though. Kind of incense, sweet floral, woody smells. Complex in smell/taste and stone.
I have not. I’m water only so I wouldn’t really know but she’s not showing any obvious signs of being hungry. Unlike Grape Ape and Death Star who always seem hungry, even in my hotter mixes.
I got it from PNW and despite being dirty, he does seem to get legit cuts. I have no clue though. But this is an obvious purple plant if that helps at all.

Funny, I hadn’t done any smell checks. But I just did a stem rub on the FF and spicy orange describes it perfectly. To me it’s like a bag of orange black tea. The buds don’t have too much smell yet but are nothing like the stem rub.

So am I brother, so am I!! I think I will hold off on the TK until I have a rooted clone. I know you said she is hard to root.
Waiting on a tent to open up. But am getting really impatient and may just add another set up.
Do you top or manipulate your plants at all? Or just grow them naturally?

I top almost all my plants to keep them short during the 9 weeks of veg. Helps to fill out the footprint better as well.
