The Canadian Contingent (Part 1)

Hey that’s just around the corner from my work!

It’s true! I smoke everywhere and anywhere. Except for places of children and worship. :+1:

This is good to know. Thanks @Yetigrows :v:

Yup, sad but true…. This is why I cannot fathom how the OCS is doing as well as they are :man_facepalming:t2: and they’ve lowered the prices @chronix when legalization came I went on day 2 to a shop and spent way too much on about 1&1/2 ounces in 1/8s and 1/4s all but 1 was terrible, dry, underweight and not even close to my quality, have not been back. However I know the guys from ghost drops for 7-8 yrs now,I even know 4 people who grow the stuff that ends up in the jars. they truly have stellar product yet pricey. I’m sure there’s other good stuff as @Yetigrows said but damn those prices! Also @Moka Ghost Drops has a flagship store and sell all sorts of cool gear and stuff there too.

Every time I go to Toronto I go to a place called Black Camel, they make beef brisket sandwiches and they are so fucking good.

That’s what gave me a little giggle when i found a couple seeds in a bag of First Class Funk. One of the better offerings I’ve found at ocs. They’re vegging as we speak

No way!SCORE and a half! Keep me posted if you remember . That’s one of my favourite strains! You should try UP (unlicensed producers) version it’s absolutely unreal

I will for sure. I’ve got a thread started on the run.

There are so many places in that area and with the turn-around it’s hard to pinpoint. Another issue: i fast during the workday so I don’t actually eat around my work are anymore! Lol / sigh.

The KEY TO TORONTO is WANDERING AROUND. the place is a grid of gems hidden in those vains. You’ll be walking down a side street and you’ll find a corner resaurant with traditionally made Mexican food and another block later Portuguese family run BBQ place and then a block later Lebanese food to die for. It gets complicated if you are a foody.

Any cuisine you want, you can have.

Just say “I want cuisine X” and do a quick google and you can find it.

Shit in Scarborough there’s a place that does legit El Salvador pupusas for next to zero dollars.

Enjoy!

Yes unfortunately.

You can find $20 eighths pretty easily, but there’s a massive quality range in the legal market here.

I sold a lot of high end eighths to people that bought a cheaper one and then a good one to treat themselves.

You can order direct from the ocs store here and cut out the middleman.

www.ocs.ca

The cannabis stores get a break of about 20% on those prices so you SHOULD see pricing at any dispensary close to what’s on the OCS website.

Was really disappointed with the first class funk from ghost drops to be honest, I’ve had the same cut grown way better from the legacy market

I’ve had customers come in and spend $400+ buying an ounce of mixed 1/8ths from the expensive producers.

While Ghost Drops, Blck Mrkt, Carmel are all good choices quite honestly I find them over priced and generally recommend Tribal as the best quality/value as they’re half the cost with comparable taste and effects.

Outside of that I’d look for Ontario Micro Growers or BC Black which both distribute bud from micro growers. Sadly I don’t know any TO shops as I’m in Hamilton, I would personally avoid the big shops like canna cabana, value buds, spirit leaf, etc as they tend to focus more on sales then customer satisfaction. Compared to an independent shop like the one I work at where we prioritize the customer experience and making sure they get the product they want, even if it means losing the sale.

The Brisket from there is heavenly!

I’ve yet to find any legal producer that’s matching the quality of unregulated bud sadly, their are decent options but you’re effectively paying prices from a decade or more ago. It makes me laugh that pot is the one thing dropping in price as inflation drives everything else up lol

I wasn’t trerrible impressed. Redundant cookies structure and flavour. Nothing really stood out. Hoping if I can find similar genes I might get a better idea. Never tried any legacy grown FCF myself.

Yeah, I don’t need to buy anything, but I have a friend who works at a dispensary and if something is really hyped up I’ll give it a shot, totally agree with what you said, there are some decent options out there but you have to pay through the nose for them and I’ve yet to really be super impressed by anything on the legal side.

I have to learn the legal market now that I’m sling dope for the man, although hopefully the owners decide to start selling grow gear and heady glass since hydro/head shops are struggling as that’s much more fun to sell.

At around $30 for an 1/8th tribal/nugs isn’t bag and I’d rather smoke it then some of the $50-100 rez zips I’ve seen. Growing your own is still the best way to get quality at reasonable prices. Although I imagine with the explosion in microgrows over the last year (20 fold increase) we’ll see a lot more competition in the higher end which will drive prices down.

I was just informed my local hydro shop is closing his doors after 30 years in business.
