SEMO, Are you a fellow Missourian ? I’m a 70 year old man, that stays to myself, and maybe posting my personal info wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but growing weed is now legal and I can protect my own property !! I get more scams on a daily basis on my laptop and phone, without giving any info to these people. I appreciate your concern . Chubby
Heritage Farms, I really like your insight on this subject. For the most part I agree with you. I will say however, the 70’s Skunk we grew smelled like skunk when it was flowering all the way to harvest. Once it was harvested it REALLY took on a stank ! Funny story…We hired a guy with a truck to haul our recently cut buds, He was stopped at a stop light, we were right behind him and suddenly he drove through the red light ! We were freaking out, when we got to the drying place we ask him “what the fuck were you doing !” He had seen a cop car several cars behind us and didn’t want the smell to get back to him !!! Funny but true, Chubby
Man this thread is packed with fun anecdotes. I wasn’t around when the legit skunk was being grown, by the time I was of smoking age it was already long gone. The closest I remember was this Mexican schwag beasters I would buy from folks bringing it over the border from Mexico. Had a lovely sweet chaparral flavor with a slight smell of skunk but nothing overpowering like everyone is describing. An oz was like $40 but it was green and only very mildly seeded. Was good for the price. Everyone thought it was grown on Indian reservations but that never made sense to me given I knew a ton of Indians who were commercially growing at the time and they charged waaaay higher prices for moderately higher quality outdoor. This stuff was definitely Mexican brick weed just of decent quality. Kinda miss it actually in a way. Had a nice high that wasn’t sedative
I’m old enough to have smoked a lot of that skunk bud but not to have grown it and I remember old timers complaining in the early 90s that lemon and fruit terps had showed up in the line and the solid skunk was harder and harder to find.
Sounds like the further you get away from the original breedings the more allusive to non existent it becomes.
Points me right back to first generation crosses like Afghan /columbian or Afghan/thai etc these were very predominate in the 70s and 80s.
I live in Southeast Missouri.
I would be more worried about someone stealing my identity with my name, address and phone number posted to a public forum. All the successful scammers, spammers, and ID stealers use webcrawlers to troll for that information. There are plenty of tutorials on how to make your own webcrawler posted online.
Another scam illegals use is they will tie their fake ID to your address and phone #. When the bill collectors come looking for them they find you.
My organic chemistry left me after my 8th beer unfortunately.
But. Theres somekind of ping pong effect where stuff gets cleaved, recombined, cleaved and combined again, back and forth round and round ping and pong.
The esters are responsible for the froots. Theyre a missed/imcomplete process/equation.
No ping.
No pong.
A lot of it came from the mountains in northern Baja. Used to see the same stuff every year for a few years, then it disappeared.
Ive been saying this over and over too. Skunk is in afghans not skunk lol. Grow a pure afghan out its closest thing youll get these days imo. Last time i smellee anything remotley rks was a very old cut of black domina from the original release. Could smell it through the vacuum seal. Nothing else has come close besides sfv og grown perfectly.
Skunk come from Mel Franks Afghani #1
You could find skunk more from Mel’s than you ever would from SK1. SK1 was designed from Sams wife. She preferred the sweet smelling one.
So Sam destroyed his skunk phenotypes to pleaee his wife.
Afghani comes from the Hindu mountain region
Ive got a killer Heirloom Afghani skunk male.
Now all you need is a girlfriend for your male !

Some of my favorite and best plants have that afghan1 plant in the background , is that also what is known as purist indica ? I can’t remember but would love to have some actual stock of it if it still exists and I believe McCormick might still have some left…
