Va va voom! Sexy!..
Well this morning I decided up my game regarding aphid control! Mix up a cocktail of this stuff! Blasted the plants with water to help knock them down then I went to spray the bottom 2/3 of the plant ! Cleaned the bucket and reapplied lube to the bucket for monitoring purposes! I’d say if it stays relatively clean the water spray and garlic oil/ soap spray might just work!

Great -guns garlic spray
Have aphids? This solution will halt then right in there tracks!
1 Tbsp of garlic oil*
3 drops of liquid dish soap
1 qt of water
Garlic oil: mince one whole bulb of garlic and mix it in 1 cup of vegetable oil. Put the garlic oil in a glass jar with a tight lid and place it in the refrigerator to steep for one or two days. To test for doneness open the lid and take a sniff. If the Aroma is so strong that you take a step you’re good. If the scene isn’t so strong at half a bulb of garlic and wait another day. Then strain out the solids and pour the oil into a fresh jar. Keep in the fridge, can use it in any miracle mixed it calls for a garlic oil.
Mix these ingredients together in a blender and pour the solution into a handheld miss sprayer. Then take aim and fire, within seconds those bugs will be history !
Repellant plants:
Catnip, chives ,dill ,fennel ,mint all send aphids away plant catnip and mint in pots for containment.
They are looking splendid in the sunshine man
How is the bucket working? I think I’ll try the garlic spay. That’s easy and I have it all.
Bucket is working as good or better than the actual aphid traps IMO I just scrap the lube off with a putty knife and reapply two or three fingers worth of lube to the “ thing emajig”
We’ve had a problem with Cucumber Beetles. Not the striped ones, the spotted ones.
Last couple of days I noticed a ton of whiteflies. And Fungus gnats have been here a month or two. But the last two days the wind has blown so hard I think it may be taking some of that crap with it. Plus it’s terribly dry and no rain for a long time. Maybe they’ll all fade away.
Nothing alarming in a damage sense to the plants. Cucumber beetles seem more of a nuisance than anything. They eat holes in the leaves but not enough to affect the plants.
