You shouldn’t worry about that as long as you’ve got a fan moving the air around. There’s a tolerance for 10 degrees difference between night and day temperatures and your humidity never reaches the panic level. I have much more and still haven’t any problems about mould or PM, fingers crossed …
Moving it through the tent is easy… I have 6” fand that circulates, but I’m not sure how even it use, you know? All my leaves rustle very slightly, some are a bit more buffeted.
It’s small enough movement, if I video it it’s look static. Been considering just letting my exhaust rip, it’s at the lowest setting. Maybe just being paranoid though, I haven’t been given a reason to worry about it so why make a big fuss, eh?
The flowering plants, day 3 flower now… they outgrew the LST I gave them, I’m giving them the day to straighten out and then I’ll pull the tops down again, farther than last time, I understand it better now! I could be wrong and I need to get a good set of pics, but it looks like 4 females. Quite happy with that.
The plants in veg are… doing. They have been overwatered, I don’t doubt that at this point. I caved and watered before I thought I should, and I saw a small downturn in one of them. So really holding to drought/flood now. I will not water then again until they’re dry dry. They will be treated to a 2’x4’ tent. Hopefully that livens them up a bit since they’ll see way more air exchange.
Ok, so we‘re a little more sure on sex now, so I dare name this plant Astrid. Names are given by sex (and if that changes, we’ll the name doesn’t matter) and alphabetically.
Astrid is a BP x Sk1 x Pineapple Thai, and is doing well, but have some concerns.
Two of her leaves have these spots, I’m fairly sure my fault from a mess compost tea application.
Then there is the yellowing in the lower leaves, present on all four ladies but this is by far the least effected.
This is Beatrice, she is not quite as happy as her roommate and by far the worst effected by… whatever. Interesting she’s been the closet to the intake vent, if that makes any difference.
Catherine is, and has been, my favorite. Vigorous grower in veg and really took well to LST. The healthiest of her family, Poison Mimosa.
Dianna is a close competitor to her sister, Catherine, she is just a bit smaller. She has no effected leaves at the current time, but has lost a few lower leaves to this same things that plagues them all. I’m starting to lean towards maybe the leaves are just being consumed for higher up growth to get out of the shade?
I hope the names help, and I tried to pay mind mentioning sisters vs roommates, I have three sisters (of the same strain) with one roommate (the lone plant of that strain).
I keep reading the title as titties are hard plants are looking good
Man, I have been now, if I’m being honest.
Its been grabbing my attention for a week… One of the best titties… I mean titles ive seen here
You can training plant cells by hands.
.Shake them sometimes.
Oh I do. I water a little messily sometimes and give them a good shake dry. I will say, they all have nice hearty stems. I don’t know that it for sure is because of the rubber bands vs a less stretchy training, but it kind seems like it’s working way better than my results with string.
I was told they would grow nearly double in height… I think I was told wrong. Now I wonder, do they want to be closer to the light even? I can’t lower the light, but I can raise the pots. The back of the hand tells me it’s not too hot but I’m already running 600w, in 3x3x6 tent. I have a 1000w lamp/driver to use but this seems way over kill. Maybe I should just be happy my little plants are alive.
Speaking of which… the vegging plants finally dried out. From the soil to the leaves, so I gave them a bit of water. Their tent is coming tomorrow, hopefully that helps them out. I guess I asked how to pause their growth- this wasn’t quite what I meant though, lol. If they pull through I will be impressed, because they looked like wet shit, now they look like dry shit… but being so dry I could break up the soil a bit, I think that will get them some air. Space heater blowing on them dried things up helped break up the soil.
A few thoughts:
Re smell:
I don’t run filters anymore. My house reeks of weed almost constantly, but outside the house, nada. You will become nose blind, and barrier where you notice you’ve become nose blind is where the smell gets to regularly For me it’s my front door, hah.
Re leaf damage:
I’ve seen similar damage to leaves on plants near intake vents, mine blows on the plant pretty hard. Not saying that’s the cause 100% but it looks consistent with what I’ve seen.
Re plant height:
Sometimes it’s genetics, sometimes it’s light. Is your internode spacing really tight? If it’s short and node space is tight, less light will stretch them out, not more. If they’re short and the node spacing is “normal” or greater (depends on what you like, I like a about an 1" - 1.5" between my nodes), then more time, more light, more nutes for more growth.
That’s my current smell plan, although it need to be addressed at some point, I don’t think we really want anyone over lol. So far so good, smell is in the tent mostly still.
Leaves- yeah. Air intake was actually my only ventilation for a bit. Definitely effected them. Now I have a little more balance and all, haven’t noticed any new problems.
Plant height… I suppose I’m just trying to maximize. Time I don’t have a lot of, but I’d rather spend time than more money. Spacing is pretty good, closer to 2” maybe. I was mostly concerned about it’s height and the light intensity they’re getting so far away. They are only using maybe 1/3-1/4 the vertical space they could be. I see guys on here with big donkey dick buds, and I just don’t see mine doing anything close. Maybe just not given enough veg time to produce like that, and they are only in 3 gal pots. They are still small enough I could transplant… I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble though. Would have to buy new pots, more soil. And then again, what do I smoke? Popcorn nugs! I’ll be happy with what the plant gives me I’m sure, just starting to hit the “I wish I (did/didn’t)” phase. Next grow will be better, don’t sweat it.
Although I love the new bud sites, would I be better of letting them grow taller? Stop LST for a bit? Or will that send all the energy to the top again?
Also… monster cropping? I have been meaning to get a clone off at least one of these, but I do not have space for a mother. Am I better off taking clones in veg? I have more seed for both strains, so I’m not worried about losing them. Just these two have been really happy growers, so I’d like to keep a cut or two.
Yeah, looking at those photos, I’d either move the light closer (no closer than 18") or increase light intensity somehow, and feed them more. They won’t make donkey dicks at this stage, but you’ll be surprised how much they’ll stretch once you flip them. Some strains can double in height. At this size I notice they’ll put on at least a few more inches at each of the terminal shoots.
I’m flowering some sativas that doubled in size. Their nodal spacing went from about 2" to 5".
When it comes to cloning, I clone and once I’ve confirmed at least one clone has roots, I’ll flip the plant I took clones from. Definitely take as many as you can - basically any shoot you don’t think will become a great bud will get cloned when I do it. Then you can play around with monster cropping and how long you veg for, which again will be strain dependent.
Great advice. I do like the idea of cloning from an already vegging plant first to get it down!
They’re 5-6 days into flower now, and the bud sites are stretching a bit, but that’s about it. I just would’ve expected more. I’ll have to see about getting them some more soil, maybe some compost. I have guinea pig manure on hand 24/7 so no reason not to use it.
I mean, two months of veg. 5 days of flower, I probably don’t need to expect a lot more out of the plants then they’re already doing. Just size envy I guess!
They’ll stretch for a few weeks. Take photos, you’ll miss it until you do the comparison.
Also you can clone now and try to reveg the clones. I’ve never done it myself but I’ve heard others have had some success.
I’ll have to see what the lower branches are looking like… if it looks like I can’t really get a cut without sacrificing yield I’m not going to bother this go around. I have seeds, and if they make it I have 4 plants ready to go in. (A day after watering they still haven’t perked up, leaves are falling off. Looks like the end, but I don’t know.)
Ultimately I don’t NEED to do anything crazy. Just KISS. Maybe take some cuttings, not a lot to lose. I’ve heard 25-50% survival rate on flower clones.
Curiously… if I topped the plants, and tried to root the tops? I’m over handling at this point, lol. Good thing I only thought about doing any of this. I’ll maybe take a few cuttings from the lower branches and see. They were coming off anyways, I may as well put them in the auto cloner.
OK, this has zero to do with this thread, but as im scrolling thru the main page…i see…
titties are hard…holy crap my brain is a junk pile.
lmfao.
Carry on
I honestly just gave up naming it, but turned out to be a good attention getter lol. And I think of it every time I read it now, so comedic entertainment value! The best jokes can’t be written, lol.
Soooooo, soooooo true. Hehe, thanks for the laughs my friend…I always smile when I scroll by
you are not alone, I was actually coming here to say the same thing!
Hey, whatever gets people to look at my plants. I don’t trust myself alone with them!
You’ve just reminded me of a song now… say, do you know a guy named Tweeter? Lol, sorry if no one gets that. Good song.
