Trichome Microscopy 🔬 Harvest Timing Science

Yep that’s the advice of the weed doctor. She told me the antidote to “too high” is CBD. I couldn’t take that CBD stuff, it was nasty. I take rips of pure THC, but it’s not as satisfying, because there are no terpenes.

What CBD was nasty? Retail flower IS!
There’s a couple very tasty 1:1’s I’ve tried at least but grew those myself :man_shrugging:

Interesting! :star_struck:
Thinkin’ out loud here.
I wonder if certain terps can occupy the CBD receptors allowing more or less THC to be uptaken and/or more or less CBD.
In other words, could certain terps modulate THC or CBD in a way that would change the effect THC has on the brain?

Dr grinspoon I hear is pretty promising for psychedelic effects I’m interested in growing some of that out. I totally get where your coming from though about how the effects have changed over the years everyone went from getting high to getting stoned

I blame it on the commercialization and marketing. They had to grow prettier looking stuff for bag appeal and went off track.

Granted, I have some skepticism in how it all works. There could be some trait that’s rare and forgotten from commercial growers. It seems weird that nobody is boasting a super psychedelic strain though. You’d figure anybody who smoked in the past knew about it and at least one of them would have kept it.

It’s like hype surrounding the chemdog stuff. They stay it’s strong but is it like what we remember from the day?

I only have a cheap USB microscope, but here’s my current grow at day 45 of flower or so. I tried to cut a calyx out of the bud for this, not a sugar leaf.

Still a ways to go.

A bit of a hack job on the pic here.
Are the big bubbles the same stuff as the small bubbles?

To me they look like bubbles that originate at the bottom (intersection area between trichome cap and stalk) and get “blown up” like bubbles/balloons and then float around the cap.

If you look at earlier pics like this, there are no bubbles. I’m tracking something like… bubbles = harvest?

That makes good sense to me.
Next question do the little bubbles form the bigger bubbles?
Nice work @LD50
