Upstate's Whatzit? Pile of seeds giveaway

Its been a pleasure growing these thank you Sativas go hermi without stress these 2 plants performed fine even with 2 power outages with one lasting 26 hours and temps in the low 40s. It wasn’t intill 3hrs light out in middle of lights on they started to go hermi so I would say there not to hermi prone for a pure sativa.

Looks great are those trichs growing on the stem?

Well that’s good you’ve enjoyed growing them. They did take a beating I guess. Pretty much how I grow them too. Cold and sporadic light cycles.
Which one is this? Have a full plant photo? It looks pretty epic all blurry.

When you can, I’d love a closeup.

The last four pics are it hard to get close and all in one pic cause of the 4 tops streched out. In the pic you posted you can see 1 of 4 tops and 1 of 2 lower branches besides it.

The photo of It I posted, where it’s slightly dark, is a foretelling of things to come when it’s filled in more. My favorite time to look at mid flower is at night. Looking good.

Beautiful. Do you think it might have some NLD genetics :stuck_out_tongue:?

I think I have talked about how male plants’ leaves “sag” when rootbound. Here’s one that is doing it without being rootbound. I had sexed all the plants as female very early on. Too early, really, so I always give a second look. For this plant I didn’t even have to look. The “sag” said it all. Two females and then
the " saggy" male…

What is “the sag”? Spanish here and don’t understand the meaning or what you are referring to with this male identification.

Sag =leaves drooping//hanging down

Ummm. thanks.
I mean that this identification is under all correct enviroment conditions. I have females with “sag” due to high humidity.

Leaves hanging down even when the sun comes up. See the top leaves on two plants are angled upwards, while the male leaves hang down. My first thought ( theory)is that male plants grow taller quicker and underground growth matches below ground growth = the tap root bottoms out before the females. That look tells you it has happened. Females can and will look like that too, but later than males by a couple weeks.
My other theory is more a joke, but may still hold water ( be true), and that is the potential for the plant to know its destined for the chopping block…
Of course, it could be something else that I’m missing. All I know is that it happens.
Could be the roots found the food quicker than the other plants…
In this case I’m not sure

Is it just me, or do cannabis plants sag a bit during hours of darkness, like they’re sleeping or something?

Yes, they do fellow grower. They sag a bit at night outdoors I’ve noticed.

Definitely because they aren’t trying to get as much sunlight as they can so they can relax instead of being so rigid. Maybe thats why they say fertilize at night cause plants are under less stress and can utilize nutes quicker? I read that somewhere no personal experience to speak of except seeing them relaxed.

Giving them their nutes at night is a good idea. I also water lightly one hour, then again at 30 minutes before fertilizing them. Someone here pointed out (correctly) that dry soil is water-repellant. That never used to cross my mind before, at least until AFTER I’d fertilized them.

Yes, they sleep. Out in Washington the days near the solstice are 18 hrs long and my plants were in full sun 5-9 each day. Normally I crashed around 7 or 8 after busting ass all day, but there was a nice breeze after sudown one day so I took a walk up to the greenhouses, and almost freaked out when I saw my wilted plants. I was always a bush grower, so never could have the luxury of seeing my plants on a regular basis, much less more then once in a day for comparison sake. When I saw my wilted plants, I thought they were about dead, and ran for the water tank, when my cousin starts cracking up. " They are just sleeping, cousin " lol. " they are tired after a long days work". A lot like us really.

I’m assuming liquid fertilizer? The ground stays wet longer at night…hmm. Wonder if that’s why?
I always was told by my grandfather to water Near sundown so the plants Can drink the water all night.
My cousin, a professional grower at the time, always preferred to water in the morning, so the plants had all the water they wanted during the day, and he wanted his plants roots searching for water at night when there was no sun to stress them out. Different climate. Different strategy. Out there it was bone dry and hot daytime. Cold at night.

Cannabis sativa is a domesticated species, and has been for about 10,000 years. Like many other such species, it takes on some of our characteristics. My wife and I were talking about that the other day, when we saw the very expressive eyes of our dogs.
