Let me call in a pro… @BudBusterPro sir what seams to be the deal you think?

@boozer, yeah, there are a plethora if both moths and beetles whose larva (worms or grubs) will attack the crown of the plant. Some, like the cutworm will just eat the whole stem off at the soil surface. Others will bore in near the soil surface (crown) and just eat the pith of the stem until they’re ready to pupate…at that point they bore back out of the plant and fall to the surface… under plant debris or CRACKS in the soil to complete their life cycle.

No worries !
Had replant almond trees in Vina, Ca right on the sacramento river,to make it even worse, there was a split in the river that isolated about 8 acres…that island was overrun with deer and in the evening they’d juast walk across and browse the trees…most of the foliage on the mature trees was above their reach, however the replants were right there for them!!!
Tried everything, and the only thing that was fairly sucessful was spraying them with capsicum (Mega hot pepper concentrate). Even then, there were some that must has swam up from cross the border, cause a few of them obviously liked it!!!

Nice harvest, I too have been harvesting peppers, zucchinis, eggplants and soon to be green and wax beans…

I never pulled my broccoli plants…

Brussle sprouts are coming along fine…

I also took some cuttings before these start flowering…I will be pollinating these with my 15+ yrs.old pollen just to see if they(pollen) are still viable.
