Soleus 14,000BTU A/C base is done.

This will work until I can modify the under floor plumbing. Once I do then that base can go away.

I still have to make the liner.

Regards the siphoning issue and in lieu of any advice…

… it’s fixed. I babysat the 10pm feeding and it worked. I still don’t understand why it started back up again confused2

Now, here’s Veg. Day 25…

Res. Temps…

pH.

E.C. bouncing .7…my nutrient bump didn’t amount to much.

Will mix to recommend recipe when I change out the Res. in a day or two and see where that takes the numbers.

I want to get the A/C swap done before the outdoor temps start increasing again…in a few days.

Environmentals…

I’ve been using what the sensors are saying and calling the RH the middle of those 3 sensors…RH of 43%.

Here’s the ugly side of the Girls! winky

I hope you’ve made your day great!

IF not, please try and make tomorrow great! winky

Edit Add: Oh, I did take the down time to deep clean the A/C outlet and it’s assemblies with a bleach solution.

First, I should clarify. I said this yesterday…

I meant in lieu of any advice directly related to that ask yesterday.

Many of you fine folks provided advice and guidance when the topic was previously discussed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! tup

Btw, I tried searching for that prior advice before I posted the above and I guess I just can’t figure out this Search feature. In one instance it took me to a post that didn’t have even a mention of the topic confused2

All you fine folks that have provided assistance are not discounted nor forgotten.

It was a sloppily worded post.

My apologies. allhail

I finished the A/C catch/drain liner last night/AM.

The first thing I made sure was perfect was the face of the sidewall that supports the drain fitting and worked out from there. It has to seal there as best as I can get it. Once that is done the only way they’ll be a leak is IF it tops the walls of the A/C catch pan.

I used some Supervisor Tape to hold the Panda Film in place. Oh, I had a choice of 3 different plastic sheeting.

I’m happy to use that tape up. It is the most difficult Double Faced tape I’ve ever used.

I’ll be happy to be shed of it! winky

Initial installation of the fitting.

That aspect of it looks great!

I put it to test last night

When I saw it today it was pretty much emptied. It should not have been empty!

I tightened the fitting and put more water in it. Several hours later it was still retaining all the water I put in it - BUT, I felt around the exterior bottom of the fitting. I felt moisture.

That won’t do at all.

I removed the fitting and found this…

Something I completely failed to recognize was the potential for a leak there, with that assembly. I should have accounted for it.

I have some thick rubber sheeting in the Materials Department here (I even know where it is! Whistle ROFLMAO). I could have cut a small piece and placed it under that nut and that would have surely prevented the damage.

Mulling over how to proceed I ran through a BUNCH of possible repairs - to include ripping it out (IF I can even get it out with the Supervisor Tape holding on STRONG! winky) and starting over.

I thought about “Gel” super-gluing a piece of Panda Film in place over the damage. That would probably do it.

While I was at hardware store for the second rubber washer I hunted high and low and looked at everything…plastic sheeting, pond liner, pre-made drip pans…and on and on.

I left with this bundle…Flex-Seal Tape, an O-ring and a rubber thick Shower Curtain Liner.

I will try the tape and the O-ring first…IF that works, great! IF it doesn’t I’ll redo the liner and make it out of the shower curtain liner.

Regardless what method I wind up with I will add that thick rubber pad for the nut to hit against. I should have done that last night. I should have accounted for it. I intentionally located the fitting as low as I could possibly get it and purposely using the lugs on the nut to help me secure it in place, intentionally hitting it against the A/C drain pan liner.

Once the fix is completed I’ll start assessment/decision making of the necessary Fresh Air Intake. Maybe run that hose under the A/C base.

First a tokie!

I hope you’re all making it a great night! rockon

I’ve just been up in the attic (actually, more than an hour ago now!) completing a scab end on the vertical support I put in a while back. The one that was there was rotted really bad on the Lower Chord end.

My longest Red Oak board wasn’t long enough. That vertical support has been swinging loose for most of that time!

I knew it was there.

The electrician had a learning curve! ROFLMAO

I told him I’d have it finished by the next time he was here (up there). Which by what told me the other day, it was going to be Tues. or Weds. of THIS week! (directed at me :point_right: :point_right: :point_right:) urlate ROFLMAO

Tues. is long gone and I only remembered a couple of hours ago! urlate

I removed these and installed 2 longer pieces. I changed something back then that made those pieces too short.

I ‘may’ have over engineered the scab! ROFLMAO

But, the A/C drain pan/base is finished. It is tested, and it’s :+1:

It’s holding, no moisture detected.

I read the instructions last night for that Flex Seal Tape. They recommend applying it with a lot of force…roller, squeegee…etc.

I didn’t know that in advance…

I think that should do it! winky (you can see the imprint of the rings of the lumber in the patch below).

Then it says you have to leave it sit for 24 hours. timeout urlate

You’ll also note above that the rubber washer above doesn’t look like this one from last night…

I soon discovered the O-ring wasn’t going to work.

I went to ‘town’ earlier to replace it, to get the correct one…I drove to ‘town’ and back for “A” rubber washer thinking it would be of some benefit…

ROFLMAO

I think the patch is in there good! ROFLMAO

That’s a lot of squeeze-out.

I knew I had 5 inch fittings up in the attic. Most of my 2 Stage Dust Collection system for the woodworking shop is 5 inch.

I have 2 of these…

They are “long radius elbows”. They allow for much improved movement of air and the debris contained within it as in a woodworking duct collection system.

I’d rather not use them for this job but I will for now…I think I’ve decided to run the existing 5 inch exhaust flex hose on the 14,000BTU A/C unit inside the 6 inch exhaust ducting I just put in place, so I don’t know for sure I’ll even need an elbow.

I may need one on the Intake hose which will just be existing 5 inch flex hose.

Then here’s a brief Girls post.

pH…

E.C. .7…

These are from the Zipper Door side. You can see the fishing line in the images.

I knew I’d have to add Yoyo’s soon as the Girls are really moving and getting closer to the bulb. I had to add another section of wire to hang the yoyo’s off of on the swinging door side. The ones on the zipper door side are fine where they area at…I haven’t used any on that side, yet.

That’s all for now. Gotta hit the rack!

Good morning!

Electrician just left about 1/2 hour ago (1 hour now. 1 3/4 hours ago now! ROFLMAO).

2 dedicated 20amp circuits in this grow space and 1 240V circuit in the loft. All in the same EMT. On the outlet I was messing with he ran a new circuit there and the Romex you do you see is capped off and will be pulled up to the loft for an outlet up there in that corner.

I’ll rerun the 120V cords as soon as I’m done here (done, while waiting for images ROFLMAO), except for the 240V power…I’ll swap that out during Lights Out tomorrow (today! ROFLMAO).

I’m still putting a 4 gang box in the attic for the AC Infinity T6 up there now (and another booster fan (even IF I have to buy another fan) that’s compatible with the Controller 67 monitor) and we still have to move the light switch.

Then we’re putting a dedicated 20amp circuit above that North-West window (down from the attic) by the Modified Ship’s Ladder for the 2 stage dust collector.

I expect to have the A/C units swapped out later today.

Good morning! tup

That went better than I thought it might…

New A/C Drain Base in place (I tried to clean up the stapled edges with tape. It didn’t work. Tape only adhered to the Panda Film and not to frame (painted wood). Not worth putting any more effort in it right now - maybe at some point in the future, maybe not.).

5 inch A/C Exhaust duct slipped right into the existing 6 inch HVAC ducting. It looks like the A/C 5 inch Intake hose (nearest the wall now) will sneak in just below and in between the 2 ducts exiting the space now, potentially with the 5 inch Long Radius Elbow.

The moment I started it up (time stamped)…(will attempt to reassemble the Output vanes at my leisure.)

Then screenshots of the #s when I shut the door (time stamped) right after finishing…

This is the one I’m really interested on keeping an eye on…

…it was the reason for the A/C swap.

IF it doesn’t work to better control the Res. Temps I’ll contemplate isolating the Res and ‘A’ A/C unit somehow.

I’m not looking forward to babysitting a 5 gallon drain bucket AGAIN, but such is life! Next time the space is open I’ll get that plumbing done.

The Girls look to be about 32/33 inches tall now…that is with the Yoyo’s holding them up a bit, probably nearer to 30 inches.

The bud sites are starting to stack in NICELY! They’re ready to flip to Flower!

I’m going to get the Res. change done next, maybe tonight, maybe not - undecided. That will include scrubbing the Res. and the Fill Pump (inside and out) down.

Then I’ll mix up the Mega Crops Part A&B at full Late Veg recipe, then make the Flip. I’ll increase the formula to full Flower recipe over those next couple/few days.

I hope you ALL made it a great day/night! rockon

I decided to go ahead and get the Res. change out of the way.

Then I remembered I had not changed the Heat Elements in the ECO 27 Tankless Water Heater.

The water pressure has been greatly reduced since the problem first arose.

So,…

BOY, did that ever let shake some Calcification Loose!

But, I was able to get that done.

I got the Res. Change, pH’d and Nutes and Hydroguard mixed in time to just make the back half of the 2AM Feed Cycle. I put the Control Bucket back on line at about 2:04AM. It tops off the buckets then the Nutes remain in their buckets for about 12 minutes before returning to the Res…

I’ll check pH now that it has returned to the Res. and adjust IF necessary.

I’ll be flipping the Girls in the next day, I’m pretty sure…

Good morning!

This is a bit of a thrash! ROFLMAO

It’s time to take some cuts. I’m going to take some cuts as soon as I can and then some cuts a few days after that.

So, I’m preparing their future home.

With the A/C problems in the Loft when I was trying to KILL the Girls ROFLMAO, I needed to get some separation. That A/C outlet duct was beating the hell out of the Runt. I’d move the vanes, they’d move back, I’d move the vanes, they’d move back.

I’m creating that separation.

While I’m there, there are some other things that need done … I need to finish up a ‘few’ tasks up there. I need to finish the East (tall) wall and the South wall. The East wall will include a 2x6 header.

I built that East wall a section at a time (when I should have torn it down and built it right). That caused me to screw up. I didn’t allow for a Top Plate. A single piece Top Plate. I didn’t realize that until I was nearly done facepalm The 2x6 header up there should be enough, along with the 4x4 posts it will be resting on.

Then, I also cut one of the studs too short. facepalm

I’m going to make believe I didn’t allow for the Top Plate. I’m going to splice in a piece to make that one stud longer.

Coincidentally, that same stud has a MEAN TWISTING BEND in it! It was probably garbage when I put it in but that’s all I had and that was also when I was priced out of new lumber facepalm

That plywood I just pulled up was intended for the Attic. That was my Gusset material.

While that original 1924 Tongue & Groove Flooring looks awesome and a good repurposing of it, it doesn’t allow for our modern world, like flat floors without YUGE gaps in it!

Before I got that Shop Vac up there every time I walked up there it was dropping ‘stuff’ on where I lay my head down through those cracks! facepalm

I’m going to remove it at some point. I almost bought some underlayment the last time I was in the “City” but it was over $150 for THREE sheets facepalm

What ever I wind up with it won’t be original 1924 Tongue & Groove Flooring.

IF I can get them off in a usable state I’ll repurpose them somewhere. It would probably look great on that East (talll) wall but I don’t think there is enough of it to cover long wall.

I left the Cloning Machine II away from the adjacent walls so I can work around them over the next days - while I have cuts in it - when I can put some time to it.

And, knowing there is Romex right there in that corner I moved the cloning machine there, at least for now. I’m thinking about pulling that Romex up and wire in an outlet myself…not waiting on the Electrician.

Eventually I’m going to complete the Loft build. 4 walls…etc.

In small bites, it looks like on the Blue Moon, too winky

Gonna try and fill the cloning machine up before I lay my head down. rockon

I did clean it thoroughly and tested it. It’s pumping GREAT! I used a razor blade to scrape off the Calcium build up off the top of it…that was a BUNCH of build up!

Hey folks!

I’ve had a couple bad days, bed/back related whining ROFLMAO

I didn’t take any cuts the other night. I just did…

…I forgot to take a few more Afghan Kush…I’ll do that when I’m done here.

All the Girls are looking amazing!

I’ll try and get some shots when I do the below, they’ll be ugly shots, of course! Whistle They will be from both sides as I have to get back in the from that direction anyway…

I had to install some Yoyo’s so they pull horizontally on the Girls to keep them away from the bulb. That seems to be working, especially since I can pull them a bit and lock the yoyo in place tup That won’t work at either of the entrances.

That back corner where the Afghans are is getting tight already, and where I’ll be getting the other 3 spots filled from.

It had me wishing I had installed some pull handles strategically placed to aid in exiting the space, from the floor! ROFLMAO

About the time I took that picture above is when I realized I had not pH’d the water in there.

Gonna take 3 more clones and then pH Cloning Machine II.

I forgot to mention something yesterday, of course ROFLMAO

I said I was going to start building out the Loft.

I went to start on that wall and utilizing the ease of access to the A/C duct into the Attic provided by not having that wall up, to finish it up while the wall is open.

Otherwise, I’d have to be up on the very top of the ladder, a nonofinger wherever possible.

OOPS! I picked that piece of ducting from the 6 inch bin facepalm.

I do know the difference! ROFLMAO

So, working on that wall is dead until I can get to the ‘City’ to exchange it.

I expect that to happen in the next few days.

Then, here’s the #s Veg. Day 34

pH…

E.C. 1.2…

I closely watched the Res. Temps for hours last night.

It never hit 73F, the Inkbird Temp. Sensor that is. The high was about 72.51F

And, about Chicken Cacciatore. I’ve been enjoying it since I was a kid. My Mom was 100% Italian woohoo

We were not a wealthy family. I remember that after polishing the chicken bone (completely removing it of all its Protein ROFLMAO) we used to bite down on the knobby ends and sucking the Marrow out of it.

Have you noticed the ph adjust helps the clones? I’ve never personally tried it.

Hello friend!

No, I have not noticed any help from adjusting the pH in the Cloner.

Force of habit, mostly. Water on the brain? winky

I just know the ability to uptake nutrients is dependent on staying at or ‘near’ the numbers recommended for our plants.

This being ‘well water’ I have seen a pH of 8 out of my faucet. Recently it’s been about 7. Most recently it is sometimes below that. (which reminds me. I have to check and undoubtedly add salt to the system).

I do sincerely thank you for adding to the discussion, brother @JoeCrowe!

Man!

As hard as I tried I could only get half the Loft built out since my last post.

The clones I took are questionable. A few are doing really well, except for the heat, a few I’m not sure will make it.

I did get the Exhaust/Extraction finished up into the Attic.

First, I tried to find a approximate 18 inch long rigid duct. I couldn’t find one.

Because of the position of the runs of ducting up the long wall and my decision to go out the Gable End instead of the East eave my ducting needed to be stacked, one under the other.

I have Straight, Left and Right Sheet Metal Snips but they’re not here - decades owned. They must be in storage.

What I have never owned are Hand Sheet Metal Shears, they were always company supplied tools, in the Tool Crib.

I know own one…

I still have to decide on how I want the ducting to go from the 90 degree duct out to the Gable End.

I have TWO Vivosun 6 inch x 25 foot Flexible Ducting. I just hate having to use them up there for that purpose.

I’m going to use one even through my reluctance ROFLMAO , the next time I’m up there to finish it out to the Gable End.

Then, I needed to build the Header for above the East wall, the wonky wall.

I was sure I had some 1/2 inch sheeting around here somewhere. I looked and all I came up with was this…

It looks like that is the template that created the arched Corrugated Steel above the door.

I had to cut it up but I’m keeping the template itself for the future.

When I went to build the header one of the boards had a bad bow in it of at least 1/4 inch.

Forced compliance was required winky

Oh, that one stud I thought I had miss cut? I didn’t. I had forgotten I wanted to put a 2x4 horizontally to complete the hodgepodge construction of that wall.

I did cut a piece out of that stud, it was twisted wildly anyway and scabbed a patch in.

No header…

Header temporarily in place by me alone. I put 2 blocks on the exterior of the wall so I didn’t throw the header crashing down into the Classroom.

I tried to use ALL of the odd Rockwool offcuts I had to fill that wall in.

I decided to keep the Doran Dark Room Light-Proofed Vent as an access point at least until I can get the plumbing done up there. That will work nicely for that purpose. I put the Doran vent up there just to close it off when not in use. I may put a temporary door on it.

That night I did start up the A/C unit up there and put a fan on top of that to try to direct the flow towards the Cloning Machine II.

The next day I started on the South wall.

I sat there and pondered the situation for a while, deciding whether to continue with the Crap construction or start building it correctly up there.

For some reason they put those “studs” on face, just on that South wall. It looks like they found a way to do it cheaply, just putting up furring strips (2x4 studs) to attach their covering on.

They could have just build out the wall they started with the 4x4s and the beam under those joists you can see above. The “wall” they build is outside of what they built. facepalm

When I pulled that Tongue&Groove board in that corner I discovered the Rockwell I used in the Under- Loft Ceiling filled the space better than I thought I had gotten it. From the underside I wasn’t sure IF I had filled that space sufficiently. I had to work around that Beam they installed on that South end. I was shooting blind. I worked out.

I filled those gaps above while I had easy access to it tup

I decided to build that wall conventionally. I could have thrown something up and it would have worked, it’s not a load bearing wall. My having the Rockwool insulation for conventionally constructed walls was the deciding factor. No cutting at all!

Then from my desk…

When I pulled that first floor board I decided I’m going to try to repurpose it on that wall above.

I want to try to build a chase of sorts to cover the ducting, that’s why that original 1924 Tin Ceiling is still hanging out the East side. IF I do build a chase I’ll wrap that wing around it.

None of that is necessary but, it should finish how the space looks when someone walks in. I think my Niece would appreciate the repurposing of her repurposing. winky

I’ve always had that in mind in anything improvements I have made to the place. To try to retain the theme she built.

Now, the Girls!

They’re doing amazingly. Very healthy looking with only a few yellow leaves. Everything else from the bottom to the top are Green and looking great!

However, there was a day or two that I didn’t check on them. Over that time several leaves were scorched. I cut them off, the ones I could reach - it’s FULL in there! disco

The Yoyo’s are working great in the horizontal position! (when I get in there to check on them! winky)

See the Res. Temps above?

For the next four or five or six days it kept giving my that same (exact) reading. Nothing change, not the Temp reading or the Humidity reading.

After those 4, 5 or 6 days with it reading the same. I knew something must be up with it.

I went and checked it and everything looked okay. I pulled the battery out and put it back in and it came back on with the same reading, including Battery strength reading. It got down to 73. Sensor was actually in the Reservoir! Whistle

I changed the battery anyway and the Sensor started reading accurately. PullHair

It looks like the battery was dead even though I was getting readings (false) from it and the Battery Strength indicator showed me it still 73% strength.

I changed out the Cloning Machine II reservoir the last time I was up there AND the Under-Loft reservoir last night.

Temps are higher than I’d like to see them in both, but more importantly in the Bloom Room. I added 2ml per gallon (40 gallons) last night. That all looked good when I was in there.

Here’s the Girls just before Lights On and when I started the Res. change.

They’re not great pictures. Some blurring from the A/C unit right there on the left.

Make of them what you will winky

Both from the Hinged Door and the Zipper Door…

The tallest looks to be about chin high (I’m 5’6"). It looks like they have about 18 inches before they hit the ceiling.

This is ANOTHER instance of “what I should have done” ROFLMAO I probably should have hung some Panda Film on the ceiling. I didn’t for a couple of reasons, primarily because I knew some electrical work had to be done in there.

My back is really KILLING me. I still haven’t taken any of the Pharmaceutical Poisons provided me back when.

I’m going to try a volcano, IF that doesn’t work I’ll have a tokie, IF that doesn’t work I ‘may’ take some of their poisons frown

Needless to say I’m off the construction team tonight.

I hope the Wee Ones make it! cantlook

Oh Shit! I was going to post that I brought the nutrient level to an E.C. of 1.2 after the change last nigh…right then I realized I forgot to pH the Res. cantlook

I know what I’ll be doing while the volcano warms up.

I’m not sure my back is going to let me.

I know why I forgot. I typically pH balance when I add the Nutes. But, Hydroguard instructs to let its product fully disperse in the Res. before pH’ing.

I did that then forgot about the other thing! ROFLMAO

Change of plans, of course! winky

I had planned to bring my trailer with me to the “City” for more building supplies BUT…

…after discovering the problem with the Inkbird Temperature Sensor that I thought I had remedied, as facts have proved out, it was an illusion.

When I went to check the pH last night I thought the Temperature Sensor on my Bluelab meter was wonky…it was saying the temps were 82F in the reservoir.

That Inkbird sensor was saying 72+F.

One of them is wrong, and I think it’s the Inkbird.

After getting the Inkbird working last night, what I ‘thought’ was working, the temps were in the never changing mode again. The numbers never changed from the initial reading I got last night even though I knew it was getting really warm in the space.

The cheapy battery powered temp sensor I’ve had in the Res this whole time was indicating the Res temps were 79+F.

I’m going to try to send the Inkbird sensor back. I don’t even want anything in return. Just take your garbage back, Inkbird!

I was doing my very best to avoid what I’m posting next.

I was hoping the keeps the Res Temps down just by having the reservoir in the conditioned space. That doesn’t seem like that will be enough.

82F is not ever good, not even for short periods.

I just bought the Active Aqua AACH10HP 1/10 HP Chiller and one of the pumps they recommend for it.

It is due in on Thursday June 16th.

Maybe my ability to keep the temps in better control will improve once I close the insulation in…adding some sort of covering for it…maybe. But, I’m not there yet.

So, instead of bringing my trailer to the city for supplies, I spent big on something I didn’t think I’d need that now I do and now I’m hoping to make it to the end of the month…and hoping I haven’t overspent.

It’s now 95F at my desk.

I’m going to try and get up to the loft and hopefully finish building it out and get it insulated.

I’m not sure what I’m going to have to do to get that West end to work out…I still have my DIY 2 Stage Dust Collection system attached to that handrail up there. I don’t remember what I’ll have to do to work around that.

But I may not get up there at all. I only just got back from the 'City" about an hour and a half ago. I spent a few hours with my sister. She’s having some trouble with some IsoTunes ear buds she bought.

I had to bring them back to the Schoolhouse to try and figure out how they work and then figure out how to fix the problems she was having.

However, I do hope you’ve ALL made your day great, and are now in the process of making the night even Greater! tup

Oh, that first volcano did the trick last night! A true relief!

Oh, and, that Afghan Kush I tried a while back now, I didn’t give it enough time to see what the results were…I was beat and went to straight to bed anyway.

The Bubba Kush I tried the next day or two after the Afghan Kush was very effective. That was NICE! tup

Hey folks!

Been slow going up in the Loft…it’s blazing hot up there! I’ve made scant progress.

It’s 92F outside and 94F in the Loft  It barely comes off the highs of the day up there.

Here’s the garbage Inkbird Temp Sensor…the last time you’ll see it!

I’m throwing that thing in the trash!

The Active Aqua AACH10HP Chiller showed up about 2 hours ago. I got it in my hands about a half an hour ago.

It is now inline and on-line! woohoo

I set it to “Boost” which puts it in a rapid cooling mode for 2 hours.

We’ll see how well that works.

Good afternoon!

Make it a great afternoon and evening! tup

The Loft…97.5F  96F where I am sitting!

The Bloom Room…83.3F…Res. Temps 72F  woohoo

The Chiller is set to 68F, so it has a bit more to go.

IF it keeps it at 72F I’d be happy with that!

I’ve seen no negative affects of the high Res. Temps. The damage, IF any, may be in the buckets, in the roots but I see no evidence of it externally.

Well, it wasn’t going to get any cooler up there any time soon! frown

I’m melting!

Where I’m sitting…

Up in the Loft…

I forced myself to get up there and try and get some more done…

It just needs the West wall. I’m going to put a temp wall there. I’m not set up to finish, finish that wall.

But the South wall is done, except for that corner and I’ve left the very lower section of that wall open, I haven’t installed any insulation across the bottom, because I know at least one outlet is getting installed in that South/East corner and the other end of that Romex goes to an existing outlet In the South/West corner

You see above, that is where that new wall ends now, butting up against that West wall that’s not built yet. I’m going to put the temp wall where that last stud is…that last stud less than 16 inches to the end of that wall.

The Wee Ones are still with us, although, I’m not entirely sure why or how! ROFLMAO

It’s COOKING up there.

Here’s some #s I just took…

Here’s that cheap Vivosun Hygrometer that’s proved more accurate than that Inkbird.

I haven’t figured out a good way to take the Chiller pictures…It was at 69F. That’s 3 hours and 45 minutes after Lights On.

I saw it hit 68 before Lights On.

That is all! winky

Good morning, everyone!

Make it a great day! rockon
