Runt’s Roots the Finale biggrin

I’m going in!

The Runt is nearest the air pump in both images. I happened to catch it just as the lamp was coming on.

This first shot is with the flash, the others are not…

Oh, I had to hold her up in the tripod tool, 3 angles counterclockwise…

Maybe some handmade Netpot Tripod Clasps? winky

Have to ballast the base for sure…needs some weight, some mass of its own.

It wasn’t as difficult I thought it would be, she came out of the bucket really easily. One minor root snag on where the airline enters the bucket.

Good morning!

Make it a great day, folks! rockon

I’m glad I went back in to put that netpot clasp in place…

…I went back there and tensioned her up…while I was there…

I then added a location to hold some Yoyo’s for the Runt as necessary. The Runt has only ever had one on her, nearly straight up…there’s no good place to string them horizontally there. That’s why IF I was going to pull one out of there she was it!

While I was in there, I was noticing some of the flowers were very close to the bulb again.

It seems to be that I lost tension on some of the Yoyo’s after that trim. Not sure why.

Oh…I shook them…I shook out whatever wanted to fall!!! That literally just hit me!

ROFLMAO

But I just went around the backside and found some loose.

I tensioned them up and added a few more horizontally.

From the Zipper Door…

Good morning!

Give it hell! rockon

Good morning!

Hmmmm…

I’m getting a reading of 46% RH off of the Oasis 4R. It has settled at 46%. I saw it hit that number last night.

If that is accurate, I am presuming it is…there is only 8 degrees of calibration on the AC Infinity.

Is there more degrees of calibration on the Controller 69?

I just found the Controller 69 User Manual.

It says “The calibration cycle ranges from -10% to 10%”

With the Controller 67 sitting at 58% RH, I’d need 12 degrees of calibration. I’m assuming this issue would be present on the 69.

Has anyone else run into this dilemma?

I’m going to make it a great day. How about you?!?! Are ya with me!?!? winky

46% RH on the Oasis is really 45% (that OCD correction thing…)
I’d be a little hesitant to adj. based on the difference at 32%RH.

I’d be figuring out how to directly test the AC infinity sensor, especially at the 75% point. (probably by mangling a small Tupperware type container and hoping my wife didn’t catch me…)… You don’t need to do that in order to ‘transfer the standard’ but it would help confirm the results.
It looks like you will need to crank the calibration up and then plot the systematic error to apply a manual adjustment.

The 75%RH is the important one to ‘zero’ because it is in the zone you will be working in.

Now that I think about it, mine is reading about 5% high around 45%RH (based on the cheap RH/temp meters I have)

Hey friend! Just got back - not counting the 20 minutes it takes for my FireFox tabs to load! winky.

I already -1 adjusted on the 75% end of things.

Yes, after it became obvious I’d have to 75% test the AC Infinity Controller 67 directly, I’ve been rolling the ideas around my overripe melon!

But, what IF after that test it is still outside of the calibration range of +/-8, on the Controller 67.

During my 6+ hours of driving today, I had a lot of time to devote to my melon! I decided, after not coming up with a great way to throw the C67 probe in the bag, that I could just rely on the Oasis 4R alone and leave it at that.

I was keen to get the AC unit reading properly so I can get the VPD correct, as correct as I can get it.

BUT, IF the AC Infinity Controller 67 is really outside its adjustable range, they should be made aware of it.

And, maybe, a long shot, but maybe they have a backdoor method to open that setting internally. I’d think they’d have to based on my extremely limited experience with electronics.

Here’s is where it is sitting as of a minute ago.

So, with that 50% RH number and this Temperature…

Edit Add: I’m either on the pavement or in the gutter of the VPD highway winky

It would be nice if the AC were working properly, in a one-stop-shopping kind of way - as I’m sure they’d intended it to be! ROFLMAO

Thank you for you help, brother @Gpaw — Appreciated!

Hello @Murciano207! Nice to make your digital acquaintance!

Everything I know I know from what I’ve learned from others better than me at it. I can not take credit for any of it.

I do thank you for the sentiment. tup

Prawn Connery (hat-tip) probably influenced my method of growing more than anyone else.

He was the first person I had seen using the Vertical Growing method.

He kicked Vertical ass!

He’s moved on to LEDs, very nice LEDs. LEDs his company produces.

I’m not sure if I ever will.

Thanks again, man! tup,

Oh, I’m Medical Forum evidence…

This Doctor is going around discussing (Lecturing?) on the procedure performed on me. A very aggressive CTO PCI. A very high risk, very aggressive CTO PCI.

The images shown are me.

One of the primary reasons I went through with it. To advance medicine and others that ‘may’ benefit from the procedure. Not knowing I’d be the topic of symposium.

He was curious why I was there…

ROFLMAO

I’m not sure, either!!!

ROFLMAO

I do know I had to jump through a few hoops to get pre-approval for this visit, and only just got approval for it a few days ago.

His office did contact me several weeks ago about it, then I had to do some work to get it done on my end.

We mostly just chatted ROFLMAO

Nice visit! tup

We agreed to another visit in the future! ROFLMAO

Oh, I must have picked up a metal sliver the other day…it was really bothering me and I couldn’t remove it.

I mentioned it to my now famous Doctor winky and he sent the Nurse in. Tweezers didn’t work. I had to dig it out with the tip of the scissors…then what to do with them? They couldn’t return them to their sterile packaging!

She offered them to me, I was already thinking in that direction…then she said I may as well take the hemostats, too! I agreed…thinking way ahead in the future! tokie ROFLMAO

I told her maybe I’ll happen upon an injury accident on my drive back and have to stop arterial bleeding!

ROFLMAO

As I’m walking out I turned back around and asked for a bag.

I didn’t want anyone to see me with a hand full of medical equipment walking out the door and think I stole them or something.

She agreed - we both had a good laugh!

Fuck!!!

I just kicked the sill plate on my car directly with my shin getting this tube of silicone out of it.

FUCK!

I was doing very well protecting up to this point!

Man that hurts!

Anyway, where were we?

ROFLMAO

And ideas, suggestions, recommendations, lessons learned you care to impart, @Gpaw ???

I am thinking I can drill the smallest hole through the lid that still lets the probe pass, then force the probe through that too small hole and silicone around that afterwards.

OH! ROFLMAO My Doctor and the “Physician” with him (maybe Intern, maybe resident…had tag on his badge Physician.) were very concerned about the shin injury. More concern was devoted to that than my Kicker!!! ROFLMAO

I was going to put my foot up…I banged it up pretty good frown

But, I really wanted to get the 75% test going on the AC Infinity RH probe.

As I was eyeing things up around the probe and the Control Bucket fired up (2am feeding). After a minute or so I heard it not sounding right. It was sucking air…a minor amount, just the last of the feeding cycle, topping itself off.

I remembered I hadn’t topped off the Res. yesterday.

I jammed through it to get it done.

This is before stirring in the Res. or going out and back to the Res. (or cycling through the chiller).

As I said I was preparing to set the test up, while I was messing with the Res., the last thing I did was knock to lid to the Tupperware test vessel in the Res.

I’ll lay it out in the Sun to dry!

ROFLMAO

I’ll get to it when it is thoroughly dried.

I don’t really want to contact AC Infinity BUT IF it is off by 22 points I’d think they’d want to know. Especially when the purchaser can’t calibrate it out of it. I will contact them if this thing is off by that much and they can’t calibrate it better than that.

It can’t be off by 22 points…

Oh, that AC reading above is when I moved the probe out of the canopy and it’s dangled near the middle of the A/C unit in there on the Drain Pan, a couple of feet above the floor…the Acurite Remote sensor is hooked on something above the Res…so neither is in the best location for a good read.

I’m going to rest my leg - dang it!

Good morning!

I grow using 2 hydroponic systems.
I also get different readings all around the grow room.
My thought was it just depends on where the hygrometer was in the room.
( close to tote or reservoir or far )

Hello @Hydro921!

Yes, it is where the user prefers to place them…consistency is probably most important, imo.

I prefer to put the sensor in the canopy. That’s where I want to know the condition of.

Thank you for your contribution, friend!

I’m going back to bed…

Just a lil-bit-o-whining ROFLMAO

My leg is killing me. It was really starting to feel much better and I knocked the shit-out-of-it! ROFLMAO Skin feels tight, disturbingly so, swelling…etc…etc.

But, I’ve been seriously wanting to get this done over the last couple of days.

Had I not re-injured myself it would have been done.

As I mentioned, I inset the BenchDogs Quad Hinge System. Well, only half of it, the operator end of things.

I need to get to the back side of the THISisCarpentry Festool-ish Multi-function Slab. Gonna take some temporary re-arrangement.

The above is without any fine tuning or the rear assembly completely installed (including insetting it).

I won’t dial it in until it is completely installed.

When I get done with this post I’m going to finish preparing for the Oasis 4R 75% RH test. I had everything ready last night…a twist drill, drill motor, a currently airtight container, sealant, test kit and the free end of the AC Infinity Controller 67.

My only concern with the method mentioned previously is the off-gassing of the sealant.

I’m not sure IF I want throw it into the test when the sealant is wet or dry.

I want to throw it into service directly.

The 24 hour test that takes 48 hours! winky

Over that first 24 hours I was watching what was happening on the AC Infinity app.

The RH was fluctuating more than I had expected. I expected no fluctuation.

Last night when I went to take the test down I noticed one of the corners of the lid on the Tupperware container was not 100% seated down.

I seated the lid down 100% and reran the test.

It hit and stayed at 75% for most of the test, with one minor tick down to 74%. The temps dipped down below 65F, outside the specified test parameters. Right now it’s at 62F but RH is at 75%.

The outdoor temperatures weren’t as hot as it has been these past several days.

I’m going to call that a successful test of the AC RH probe.

Now, what do I do with that information, that BOTH instruments are testing good but vary some much in the way I’ve been using them? One in the canopy, one on a shelf across the room with both at different heights.

Where the other devices are at the same time as the test, these are not included in the test…

I just started the 32% test on the AC Infinity RH probe a couple of minutes ago.

I am going to try and get the Acurite Remote in the test vessel for the 75% test…after the 32% test on the AC sensor is done.

I suppose the next thing I have to do, after the above are completed, is place them side-by-side in the same identical environment (location within the space) and see if they then read the same.

Good morning, everyone!

Make it a great day! rockon

I pulled the 32% RH test.

It hit 47% for most of that time. It briefly hit 46%.

That doesn’t look right to my inexperienced eye.

Opinions welcomed.

Now, I am going to run the 3 devices together in close proximity to each other - side-by-side-by-side.

First, I wanted to use this. I made this for the original AC Infinity monitor. I really like the look of that spalted Red Oak! I mounted it to the bottom of the Lower Chord of the Roof Truss in the Loft, the ceiling joist.

Too much work I’m not set up to do had me reaching for my scrap wood. Some of these pieces have been used more than twice, most recently in the A/C Drain Pan mockup.

Just something quick and dirty and temporary…

The ‘shelf’ wasn’t exactly wide enough for the Oasis 4R so I had to tape the base in place.

We’ll see where this goes!

Oh, my leg is back to where it was before I banged the heck out of it on the sill plate of my car!

I have to protect it better until it is healed.

A quick look at the Girls while I was installing the test shelf indicates the first bit of Frost appearing! I only noticed because it glistened in the light. woohoo

Good evening!

I just contacted AC Infinity…

support@acinfinity.com

Hello,

I have your T6 Inline Fan. I bought it Mar 17, 2021.

I recently upgraded to your Controller 67.

There was some vast differences between the reading on this and 2 other devices I have in my grow space, the Oasis 4R and a Acurite Remote Sensor for my 5-in-1 Weather Station.

I used a Boveda RH Calibration Kit and at 75% the controller it passed the test.

When I put it through the 32% RH Calibration Test it read 47% for most of the test period, it briefly hit 46%.

It never hit 32%. It never went lower than 46%.

Is there a chance something is wrong with the device?

I purchased a Oasis Caliber 4R Hygrometer that touts a +/- 1% accuracy to test against the Controller 67. The 4R is a Cigar Hygrometer used in Humidors.

I first tested the 4R and it passed both the 75% and the 32% tests.

The Controller 67 has never matched the numbers of the 4R. The Acurite Remote sensor has closely matched the 4R.

Temperature seems to work fine when compared to the other devices but the RH is just way off the mark in the lower scale.

Any assist in this regard would be appreciated.

I’d really like to trust your device.

Happy Customer!,

I hope they have a solution for me.
