WHAB’s 1924 Brick Schoolhouse RDWC

no game. Just kicking around to see about the hydrogen peroxide. Sorry if it was offensive!

You presuming my state of mind I do find offensive.

You can speak for yourself. You can never speak for me.

Stick to things you think you know and never to things you most assuredly do not.

oh well that was just a response to:

it was a question. Sorry 'bout that.

You exhibited inordinate hatred of H020.

I did not exhibit hostility.

I’m the kindest of gentleman BUT, IF a person insists on getting in the gutter I’ll meet them there.

Are you heading toward the gutter,@JoeCrowe?

I’m up for that, just as soon as I get done H020 dosing my system! winky

I just got done working on the new (temporary) 5 gallon bucket lids.

I figured out a work-around for not having a circle jig. I couldn’t find a center of the lid anywhere on the router insert plate so I added a clamp to the plate to run the outer edge of the lid on. It did speed things up but I was able to get outside of my line anyway! biggrin

Now, a little clean up of a YUGE mess! cantlook ROFLMAO

Sorry, I meant to respond to this and your subsequent. They were very helpful, thank you!

I am still having a little trouble understand how a reservoir and controller bucket is utilized in a RDWC.

Are controller buckets and reservoirs only used in RDWC that use a drip system (feed from the top)? I saw a reference to that.

Are controller buckets and reservoirs only used to top off a system?

What is the recirculating part of a RDWC?

I understand yours is not a RDWC. I want you to understand, I am greatly appreciative of your help. tup

The girls have turned the corner - regardless visible algae in the outer buckets - they are 90% less droopy, even in Lights Out.

I increased the setting of the temperature on the A/C a couple of days ago.

Veg Day 24 (not sure of the other information, lost track and don’t care to go back and look for it! Except for ‘Less Abused - Now’! ROFLMAO)

Light came on before I was done taking pictures. Apologies!

E.C. .8 (400 on 500 scale)
pH 5.8
Res. Temp. 64F

Raspberry Cough (This is one of the ones up front that was second to the worst droopy)

Blueberry (Dutch Passion)

Blueberry (Dutch Passion)

Tangerine Dream x C99

Tangerine Dream x C99 (the one I was sure was dead. the one I ripped some of its just forming roots out of)

Raspberry Cough (the other super droopy, the worst droopy plant up front)

The Wee Ones. Tangerine Dream x C99 on left. Blueberry (Dutch Passion) on the right)

I’m starting to think these girls are Garbage Girls and prefer the Sewer Water! :winky: :roflmao:

Thank You to EVERYONE how have stepped forward to help with my most recent Drowning dilemma!. You are appreciated! tup

There is a pump that moves the water through all the buckets continuously. That’s pretty much it. I’m not very experienced with RDWC. I believe it’s more trouble then just having separate buckets like @ReikoX said. Unless you are running the same strain it every bucket.
Hey @JoeCrowe you run RDWC?

naw, same concepts though - ph range, temps, EC and so on.

Yes, I don’t see the benefit of a pump running 24/7.

I’m torn on how to proceed from here. I do see the benefit of an airstone in each bucket. But I still see the benefit of recirculating nutrients. I can monitor all the buckets and mix up new batches of nutes in a reservoir that is then sent to the buckets.

I’ll try a mix of both in the next grow and see how it goes.

One thing I know will sway my opinion is IF I can’t keep the reservoir temperatures under control. The buckets are in a controlled environment, the controller and reservoir are not. I’m not against moving those things into the grow space as I am able to wall up and properly insulate the space.

Thanks, @LilJonB tup

I use the single bucket system due to it’s flexibility in growing plants. I know not everyone does this, but some of the plants I grow, if they were grown in the same system would most likely kill each other off.

I didn’t think you RDWC JoeCrowe. ReikoX really dislikes DWC. It must have really treated him poorly in the past.

@WhiteHotAfterburner I don’t see the point in Recirculating water except for if you want to keep your temperature down by keeping the res. outside the tent/room and your water levels staying higher longer. Other then that I really don’t see the benefit. I would try single bucket system and work your way up from there if you think it’s beneficial. You can always keep your single buckets cool by installing them and raising them up to allow airflow underneath.
You got the Idea tho. Premix and dump it in your buckets. I don’t care what anyone says I think you will see a difference in growth between DWC and Ebb and Flow. Can’t wait for you to do a side by side of the 2.

Hahaha ha! Not me, I’ve only done hempy and F&D in hydro. Most of my grows have been living soil and KNF.

I will likely try what you suggest, @LilJonB … Thank You!

What do you think of a hybrid system? A true recirculating DWC including an airstone? Do you see a problem of air running stone in the bottom of a frequently low nutrient/water level bucket?
