WHAB’s 1924 Brick Schoolhouse RDWC

I get what you’re saying, @LilJonB … It took a couple of reads to understand what you were saying. But, I don’t see a reason right now where the white buckets would need to be flush with the black bucket - THANK YOU!

The only reason the white buckets are moving into the black buckets is just because I don’t want to transplant these plants into netpots at this time - they’re too far along, in my opinion.

I’ll have netpots next run where I will be able to move them from the 2 gallon buckets (Veg) and right into the black buckets (Flower), ala @Purple-N-Hairy

Subject to change! ROFLMAO

Thank you,@LilJonB! tup

Veg Day 34…

I just bumped up their nutes.

I mixed up another 5 gallon bucket of pH’d (5.8) water with Mega Crop’s “Late Veg” recipe at full strength (2.5 grams of each A & B component) which resulted with an E.C. of 1.8 (900ppm on 500 scale) in the bucket…

…and with that in the reservoir it resulted in an E.C. bouncing between 1.2 / 1.4 = 1.3 ( (650ppm on the 500 scale) and a pH of 5.7.

I also added 1-3/4 cup of H020 into the 30 gallon mix.

I received 12 of these today…(they won’t go into service until the next run but, they’re here when they are needed).

Although apprehensively (letting that much cash go through my fingers is anxiety inducing! ROFLMAO), after wrestling with myself over the expenditure ROFLMAO, I did buy this the other day…

Shipping was 39+ to receive it between May 10th/May14th. I paid an additional $20 to get it here between May 5th and May 10th.

Except for an air pump, air hose and airstones, as soon as I get the controller, I will have what I need to set it up for Flower. I will add the air system as soon as I can.

While mowing today, I scouted outdoor grow sites. There are 2 I’m sure will be excellent. One site I really like is tucked into a treeline with openings between the trees to the East and West, it will get Sun most of the day. This is one of the sites I had in my mind when I pondered it but I didn’t think it would be as good as what I saw today. The other site I thought might work was WAY off the mark! ROFLMAO

I have set my alarm to wake up before sunrise to make sure what I think will happen is sure to happen.

Looking good WHAB! The bottom plants are going to be for your outdoor grow?
I catch my self scouting for places even in the winter time. One year I started really early in the spring did my transplant in the ground and came back 2 weeks later. The field was so overgrown I couldn’t find my plants. Lol. I like to think it grows wild there now :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. In reality the soil really sucked there tho. It was such a long hike. I know better now to keep better track of my plot.

Hello @LilJonB . I’m not sure what you’re calling the “bottom plants”. Your post doesn’t seem to connect your post to what you’re posting about. I still don’t fully understand how this site works.

Are you referring the plants in the flower pots and not the plants in the buckets in the Veg space? Or the new arrivals?

Yeah, to the scouting spots. I have been looking at different spots to see IF I can figure out how the Sun passes over them. But, I’m not much of a morning person since I no longer am employed (all of my jobs in aviation had Day Shift hours starting at 6am) so I was ignorant of the Sun’s path from morning to night. IF I am not camping/hiking and/or fishing I see absolutely no reason to rise before the Sun winky.

I see now in the age of Smartphones and their Applications ‘pinning’ locations is a thing winky!

I mowed both the spots I mentioned yesterday (there are a couple of areas where it is obvious someone in the past has made trails through the trees. It was one of the trails that I mowed my way to the spot and around it to make a clearing for what is to come (a ‘potted’ plant winky)). I will continue to keep the grass in check in those areas (I may be inclined to purchase a shoulder supported weed whacker winky!.

Not knowing the condition of the soil is what has me desiring to grow outdoors in the grow bags (I think now, without having tried either, I should have opted for the 7 gallon grow bags winky). I can condition that soil instead of a plot in either location. That and my desire to not be on the working end of a shovel or pick! winky.

I am truly interested in which plants you are referring to (I’d be happy to respond) AND I apologize for not knowing how to figure that out on my own confused.

Hey, while you’re here, could you inform me as to what you use for an air pump or air pumps? The same as to airstones. Please.

I tried to find the answers in your thread but I just don’t know how to find it easier without reading every word in your thread confused2 smokeit2 .

Thank you for the discussion, @LilJonB … sincerely!

Ich spreche nicht wirklich Deutsch … Ich habe Deutsch in der 6. Klasse gelernt. Wir mussten eine Sprache auswählen, um zu lernen, Deutsch ist das, was ich ausgewählt habe.winky

Ich ‘spreche’ mehr Spanisch als Deutsch winky

No, I didn’t get the CFL set up. I really want to get 4 foot LED’s (the ones @dequilo recommended) instead.

Thank you so very much for the kind words and the discussion, @mistergrafik tup!

I see you’ve popped some beans. Give me a holler when you start a thread on them, please!

Spanisch und Deutsch sind die gleiche Scheizze!

LOL! jk…

I can tell you those LED’s are killer for that price. And the wingspan on them allows you to really observe a nice set of plants at once. Not to mention you plug them into the wall and turn them on!

I have LEDs in my veg but I use GE LEDs as another gardener schooled me on their spectrum.

The tube LEDs don’t have spectrum in the UV range… WHich you will want ( yes for high end even in veg ) to bring out the true plant before flower… But I think you’re flowering under HID anyways right?

Ah yes my friend! I’m a bean poppin’ locc!

I will let ya know when I kick off the new journal :sunglasses:

Yeah, I ‘think’ those will be my next purchase. Those and the air pump, hose and airstones.

Yes, I will be Flowering under 1000W of HPS. Right now I’m trying to figure out how best to reconfigure the space in the loft to give me a little better layout - with better access to the mechanicals (reservoir, controller and air conditioner) - keeping in mind my concerns about placement and not being nutrient rained on while abed! ROFLMAO I have a layout I’m going to try. IF that fails I’ll try something else!

Yes, please let me know. I’m keen to see what you’ve got going on!

Hey WHAB. I apologize for not being as clear in my recent posts. That’s pure laziness on my part. I was referring to the vegging plants yes. At the bottom of the post I was replying to. Post 583.

For air stones these are nice for the price. Alot of people use these.

The air pump I have been using for the past 4 grows non stop is this one.

It is very quiet and dose the trick. I was wanting more bubbles tho.
I bought this one for more air but it’s too loud. I need to get longer hoses so I can run it in my closet. It’s not ear deafening but I spend all of my time in my room reading or watching TV.

Your post asking which ones I want to take outdoors did not have one of these…

…with the arrow directly linking to the post you’re replying to.

Maybe it’s just me, but that is how a person can see where what is being discussed is coming from smokeit2 otherwise it leaves me puzzled! winky

And, then, no…the ones in the pots in the Veg space are not likely going outdoors. They’re actually just a test. Just so I can see how the different medium does.

BUT, I just conferred with someone on which they would pick from the Veg space they’d choose for outdoors IF they had a choice.

They agreed with what I was thinking. Saggy Sally ‘might’ have a better chance outdoors than she’s having in the wet (she’s still a bit saggy but does perk up during Lights On, I checked last night…she looks fine under full light).

But I am seeing (in my Thought Process Machine) IF I have to transplant any of those developed plants to outdoors by myself (which I prefer rather than relying on others) it’s going to be difficult. Transplanting a Vegged out plant from Hydro to dirt (Soilless) has me a bit puzzled winky

Thanks for the info on the air pumps AND the stones. Yes, I have sort of settled on those stones. And, I suspected you would be using either one of those pumps. I like the Active Aqua pump BUT there’s only 4 outlets.

How many air pumps are you running?

And, yes to the Vivosun air pump. I’ve been looking at those and the noise has me questioning buying it. Also, sizing one. I don’t know what Vivosun pump I would need running either 6 or 12 5 gallon buckets. Any suggestions on how to size them? Say the 12 5 gallon buckets, which pump is recommended?

I’m not asking you to do the work for me. IF you can point me to any information that would be AWESOME. IF you can’t, I understand. I suspect you have looked it up (done the research) and you ‘might’ be able to save me a few steps! biggrin

I do thank you immensely for the help you have provided me! tup

Veg Day 35…

Group photos…

Raspberry Cough (Saggy Sally winky ) - She’s growing. She’s 28 inches today. A little blurry - apologies!

I completely forgot to get pictures of the other Raspberry Cough. It is being hidden by the other 2 plants on that side! ROFLMAO She’s doing quite well. I’ll get it next time winky

Blueberry (Dutch Passion) She’s 31 inches today.

Then, I bumped their nutes again. Besides they’re eating a lot more than they had - I mixed up another 5 gallon batch of nutes.

Water is coming out of the bathtub faucet at a pH of 8.2…

I adjusted it to 5.5…

With all this mixing I’ve been doing - in the reservoir with a extendable dust mop (like paint roller) handle - and the few 5 gallon batches I’ve made I decided to employ a new, unused paint mixer.

The pH and E.C. before I added the new 5 gallons.

Then after adding the new batch…

And, as I’m typing this, they just fed. We’ll see how they do after bumping them to an E. C. of 1.6 (800ppm on 500 scale)!
