I have to respond to this - mowing can wait a few minutes, I’m sure! tup ROFLMAO

I certainly would have, my friend! It’s the one thing I missed out on when I was in the U.S. Marine Corps. I never went on a “Float”, even though I was 3rd MAW. Just a timing thing.

Flight of any kind has had a strong hold on me since I was very young. The Theory of Flight still enchants me! I still find it amazing - after all these many years - that we humans can get heavier than air machines off the ground in a controlled manner and return to Terra Firma in a likewise controlled manner - most of the time! ROFLMAO

Thank you for your service, brother! tup

I know I have thanked you privately. Here I’m doing it publicly because it is that important to me

Add Edit: I used to sit/lay on the berm-works (natural (natural, built-up materials (Earth)) Blast Walls) around the runway to watch aircraft takeoff and land. I used to park at the end of Long Beach airport to do the same (I would probably be investigated for that today! winky ROFLMAO). I’m that enchanted with the “theory” winky

I’m outtie!,

I totally understand. I was amazed when I first saw planes doing their thing on the carrier. Watching a P-3 Orien dip down so low on take off that you couldn’t see it and then a F-14 not dip at all and then kick in it’s afterburners and be GONE in seconds. It was one of the few things I enjoyed on that ship…….

Yeah, it is quite something! Flight is amazing in its own right, but off a moving runway at sea is a whole other ballgame! Awesome stuff!

As for Carrier Launches - as I am still awed by them, all of them - the Doolittle Raid with B25’s still holds a place in my heart.

As for Carrier Aircraft, I actually built Grumman E2C’s for a bit, too.

Thanks for your input, my friend…great discussion, IM [Biased] O! winky

Well, the Kubota ran GREAT for an hour. I thought for sure it was fixed.

Wrong again! I’m going to test the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid. Except for the fuel line between the tank and that remote filter and the tank itself, that’s the only thing in the system that hasn’t been replaced with new.

This is what I mowed last week on the right (brown cuttings) and what I mowed last night (still ‘green’ cuttings), that had not been mowed at all (what’s in the picture. I had completed part of it farther to the right). That’s a BUNCH of cut grass (lawn, not hay! winky ROFLMAO) laying out there!

I got both sides of our road mowed, out the the neighbors first gate (just as a courtesy).

This is why I’m keen on getting a trimmer running. It needs it BAD! winky ROFLMAO

I’m going to test the Shutoff Solenoid. IF it passes the test I’m going to have to take the tank off the Kubota.

IF it does turn out to be the tank (which I’m not convinced that it is the tank by the way it is bogging down), I’ll replace my Oil Pickup Tube O-ring first.

I’ve researched it a BUNCH and some of the videos I saw recently has me questioning myself - whether I really want to get that deep in the task (IF I have to do what some of those videos show).

Okay…I’m back to mechanic mode.

IF I can get the video down to size and can post it here I’m hoping someone here can possibly provide (guesses) as to what it is - fully understanding what I have already replaced with new components.

Oh, back to Video Editor. too, it seems - something I told you folks I never wanted to do ever again! ROFLMAO It is currently a some 79mb +/- file. frown icon_e_surprised It’s slow going uploading from my phone to my PC frown

I’m going to go test that component.

I’ll be back, I think! winky ROFLMAO

First: Here’s the Electric Fuel Shutoff Solenoid; that thing in the near center of the image with the plunger on the left generally pointing down.

It seemed to be alright! It’s an on or off type of switch. It was on when it should be on and off when it should be off and when I had the tractor running and it started to bog down it wasn’t doing anything that caused the engine to bog down. I thought it might flutter between on and off causing the engine RPM to fluctuate. It didn’t do that at all.

So, the tank on the Kubota BX25D is coming off! frown

Next: Area is prepped for my car. Not as easily as one might expect. There is a 4 Wheeler in there. I was told I could use it IF I could get it running. I did have it running last year sometime. But, I just looked at it when I went to push it around and there is a pair of NIB U-Joints on it. I guess the U-Joints might need replaced (just a guess, it was never mentioned). It did run, though.

The not easy part was moving it around. I chained up to the golf cart to move it around in the garage. I didn’t want to pull it outside in case I got that part number from Textron. confused2

Then I had to push the 4 wheeler back and forth a couple of times to move it over to the far left so I could push the golf cart next to it and fit my car in where the golf cart and tractor was. That 4 wheeler is pretty difficult to move when the wheels are turned in either direction.

I got my car in the space with working room on all sides!

I’ll get stated on my car in the AM (My AM, not your AM! winky ROFLMAO

I didn’t start tonight because I had to use my car to go get dinner. Drive to a place where one could purchase dinner. I have not driven to get dinner anywhere since I’ve been here. I mean drive somewhere exclusively for dinner. I have eaten out when I’m in town for something else.

And, this place is a “local” rural outpost. I bought a Pizza. That’s the first Pizza I’ve had since long before I moved here. Probably 4 years or so.

I’m Italian! I really miss going out for Italian.

On that note: I’m going to try and make my Mother’s Lasagna this year for Christmas. Gonna try. I sure do miss it.

Her 7 Layer Lasagna was our Christmas Dinner for her entire life. Not Turkey, Not Ham - 7 Layer Lasagna! With plenty of left-overs. Is it “left-overs” if the left-overs were planned in and not just something that happens incidentally? winky ROFLMAO

Man, do I ever miss her :rose: - and her cooking!

Oh, here’s what I found on my drive for dinner…(it doesn’t look like much in standard lens).

Same scene zoomed in…

And, that even does not represent clearly what it really looked like. It was beautiful. I don’t often pull over to catch a landscape. biggrin

I’m going to try and volcano some of the Kief. (I don’t have a volcano, but an Arizer instead).

Hey folks! wavy

I received the Safer Caterpillar Killer.

Can someone check my math, please?

The instructions say to use 1.5 fluid ounces per 3 gallons of water. Using their Fruits and Vegetables recipe

I have a 1.5 liter sprayer.

Using that formula, I arrived at 0.125 fl oz = 3.696691 ml in my 1.5 liter sprayer.

Does that sound right? Just under 4ml per 1.5 liters of water?

I would like it in Milliliters so I can more easily measure it out in those 60ml syringes I bought.

Thank you in advance, sincerely! allhail

Well, I went with my math.

It’s not the math that is difficult, it’s translating them all in to numbers I can use on my end.

I only just noticed when I went to spray them that the plant third from the left was sagging. It was not sagging the last time I looked it the day before yesterday now. Pot was a little light and probably needed watering.

Now they’re sagging because of the weight of the Safer and Water sprayed on them.

I sprayed them from below and above.

Before…

After…

Then, I went up with what I thought was plenty of time to take Lights Off photographs AND to take Trich images. I was wrong! winky

I Changed Technique used to capture Trichomes…

Instead of getting the T Takmly WiFi Microscope in focus for each attempt to capture an image while I hold my phone, hold the bud AND hold the microscope to adjust focus AND snap the picture (finding that button isn’t as easy as it should be. I found myself having to look down to see if I was on the button frown ) all in a hunched over posture - I left the Microscope on whatever the focus it was and moved the microscope in and out of the bud I was looking at.

Still a little unstable. I will make improvements.

But, I think this ‘may’ work better on my end…once I improve my skills and become more stable.

Now, I see I am also going to have to take images from one plant then come down and save them to my PC to include naming them as it is I don’t know which image came from which plant.

Also new, I just discovered I can open the Gallery on my Android Phone and Bluetooth those images straight to my PC. This time I created a folder for all the images I just took.

In the future I’ll come down and put those images from that Microscope photo session in its own folder.

Again, this was more practicing a new technique than actually showing the Trichs.

However, it looks by a couple of these mostly out of focus images I need to find the 1 or 1’s that is/are showing more Amber… winky

Some of the images look like duplicates. I was checking focus again. I was making sure what I was seeing was what I was seeing and maybe moving even the slightest.

Cut me a husk here! winky

Good morning!

Make it a great day! tup

You got some good and useful shots in there… :sunglasses: :+1:

I went through a series of exercises before I got semi-organized
with my photos & folders.
I get one great photo out of maybe a hundred… and that’s an improvement…

Cheers

that mix sound good to me, it only takes 3ml per liter to kill stuff! The thrips should be dead in three days.

Yeah, I have hundreds of pictures I don’t even bother to move to my PC or keep even.

Thank you, @JoeCrowe!

That brings up another question.

I looked for Thrips on the Girls in the Flowering Space with the WiFi Microscope.

I didn’t see any.

Is it assured they’re in there?

I do see carcasses of very small bugs in the water accumulated in the Drip Pan under the Air Conditioner.

Should I spray the Girls since I have this batch mixed up and it has to be used withing 24 hours.

Are there Thrips up there, would you presume?

heh heh I wouldn’t recommend spraying anything on the buds and smoking it… but that being said, you could spray some on the leaves, that’s where the little buggers do their life cycle. I couldn’t find any documentation saying it could harm you if smoked, but in an abundance of caution yadda yadda don’t smoke it.

I did bring the bottle up with me when I took the microscope images but couldn’t force myself the spray them.

I did read that you can treat your plants with it “up to day of harvest” BUT, these aren’t Tomatoes that can be easily rinsed off.

Thanks, @JoeCrowe!

I appreciate ya, man! tup

I went back and looked at the last photos you had of the bloom room and I don’t see any thrip damage there so you should be good. Just scout around for those white blotches with black specks, once you see them, you know the score.

Will do. Thank You!

I Just Had (3 hours ago now) An Interesting Conversation, Two Actually…

===========================================================================

When the tractor started actin up again - not repaired sufficiently - my SIL suggested I contact my neighbor to borrow his mower.

I asked to borrow the mower and he said he couldn’t let me borrow it but that he could “help”.

I messaged him back - how do you define “help”?

He said he’d call me, he never called me.

I get a knock on the door and it’s my neighbor.

It told him urlate and could you go away for a moment or two! How rude!

The above averring is completely invention ROFLMAO

I had to make him wait as I was not currently clothed! ROFLMAO Good thing I did. His lovely wife was standing back out of the view I had before I closed the door to don appropriate attire. winky

“Help” entails, it turns out, my neighbor mowing and trimming for nothing in return.

I tried to reach a more equitable agreement.

He demured my every attempt.

I mentioned how my car has taken precedence over the tractor (the only reason I’m not mowing - I can mow fine), of which both are in need of attention.

He said he knew somebody I should talk to about my car.

The matter of finance arose. He said I should talk to this fellow.

IF I get the number, I will avail myself.

This has the potential of alleviating some of the to-do pressures around here - potentially.

Can’t deny, I can use it! winky

I’m pretty sure I haven’t mentioned it here, publicly…but, I further injured my back a couple (few months now?) of months back.

When I first did it, it really hurt (like injured hurt) - it hurt on a right footfall. It hurt when I breathed. I toughed-it-out.

It’s why I requested re-authorization for Chiropractic Care about a month or so back.

The worst it still hurts is transitioning from sitting down and leaning back against the backrest while seated.

It’s not hurting as bad as it was but the tractor work I did certainly didn’t help it winky

But, I got it done.

I’ll do it again. I’ll continue to do it every time I am able.

I’ll pay for it later.

It is a potential relief and potentially frees me up for other matters. winky

What a great day was made for me! tup
