I was about to do the same @Gpaw . It’s been a bit since we’ve seen him around.
Hope all is well with you friend!

Hello my friend, @Gpaw!
Not pinned under the Kubota, yet!
I’ve just been very busy with everything going on, health (scheduling testing, etc…) and other matters, too. I was just on the phone to both, VA and Out of System (VA Referral) concerns.
I woke up 2 days ago to the worst back pain I’ve ever had. From top to bottom. I’m pretty sure I have mentioned my back pain here before - this was worse.
I had a Televisit with my Primary Care doctor yesterday. I told her what had happened the day before and she approved X-rays and an MRI over the phone (a triple MRI, Cervical, Thorax and Lumbar…consecutively, on the same day).
I then requested authorization to see another Chiropractor as my current Bone-Cracker is unavailable still . I hope he and his family are faring well!
The Dr. wants to see the X-rays and MRI before approving Chiro Care.
So, that and some birthdays happened in the past few days. Mine, Oct. 4th and my nephew Josh’s on the 5th. I don’t celebrate birthday’s for those unavailable to celebrate them with me…I made that clear…a day of Remembrance is what I call it.
The Hotsy folks weren’t as helpful as I would have hoped. They were not interested in buying the machine themselves (they do offer used machines on their website) and they could not provide me with the model #. I haven’t relayed that information to my brother yet. I don’t think he’s going to like what I relay to him. I held off telling him because I knew he was coming into town for his own Dr. appointment, which was today.
That’s ALL on top of my regular goings on.
I still haven’t broken down the Bloom Room (thanks whoever used that phase! Nice one!).
I did get 1/2 of the shelves built in the odd outbuilding nearest the 1924 Schoolhouse.
I used 2 boards from my brother’s auction bought reclaimed Gymnasium seating (the kind that fold up on themselves) seating with his permission. I asked for those first 2 pieces to see how far that would take me. I need 2 more. I asked for 2 more and he said he doesn’t want to use that wood on such a lowly task! It seems he doesn’t remember he gave me permission for the first 2 boards used for this lowly task .
I could have taken 2 more boards and he would not have even ever noticed. It was suggested I do that by someone else.
That’s just not how I roll.
Integrity is what you do when no one is watching.
I’m going to have to buy the rest of the shelving I need. Even though that reclaimed Gym seating is sitting out in the weather, and has been for at least a few years (more than a couple).
All that stuff on the shelves now came out of the Classroom (living space). It’s been rather cluttered since I went and grabbed some of my things from my storage unit (nearly 100 miles away).
All of it has been living with me this entire time. I did put most of it up in the Loft but when I decided to grow those things were literally jettisoned from the space! I’ve been walking and working around it ever since.
So, I’m going to need my trailer to go buy shelving material. Instead of making a separate trip in to the “City” for just 4 1x8x10’s, I’ll roll that purchase into my planned first material buy for the Attic build-out (starting under the floor (gravel, cement block and Lally Columns and one beam (East end)) and working up from there) AND insulation. I’m going to start insulating the Attic in the area I’m not going to build in, exterior of what will be the Bloom Room, then under the Bloom Room before I close it up (lay underlayment down), and then insulating down from the top to the temporary Bloom Room (Under the Loft). The Loft will be for shorter plants, seedlings/clones etc.
When my Niece made this place habitable they did insulate the Attic BUT, they are 24 inch bays and they used 15 inch wide Roll Insulation!
I’m going to buy 24 inch wide roll insulation (probably fiberglass type for most of the Attic, except where I will be building - that will be Mineral Wool type) and I’m thinking about using the 15 inch roll insulation that is already up there on the gaps in between those rolls (straddling the ceiling joists), it ‘may not’ help but it can’t hurt!.
I’m going to try and R&R that Oil Pressure Sending Unit in the next day or two and change my oil. But, my brother took his proper Floor Jack with him his last trip down. He did leave a proper floor jack here BUT it doesn’t have a handle. I found a handle that I ‘think’ will work on Ebay. They wanted $50 for the handle AND $50 to ship it! . For another $50 or so I can buy a brand new, proper Floor Jack. I need to get my car off the floor to change the oil. I always rotate my tires when I change my oil. So, I’ll need a floor jack for that as well. I had planned to bead-blast my rotor hubs and paint them while I had the tires off. They come unprotected from the factory, for some reason unknown to me
I have been planning to paint my rotor hubs for a long time. I bought the paint years ago. Being unpainted has bothered me since I bought the car. It doesn’t ‘need’ to be done, I just think it would be better to have them painted but, IF I have the wheels off the vehicle to rotate them I may as well paint them then. It’s time!
So, I ‘think’ I’m going to go Floor Jack shopping when I get done here!
Thank you so very much for checking up on me, my friend! I appreciate that!
You !,
WHAB
Hello my friend, @Rhino_buddy!
All is well, generally speaking! .
Thank you, Buddy buddy of the Rhino persuasion!
High regards,
WHAB
Oh, when I moved that beast of a Hotsy out of storage I jammed my thumb putting on the Front Loader Clamp-On Forklift Forks (Titan Equipment).
The worst jammed thumb I’ve had since High School Football.
I have not missed having a jammed thumb in all those intervening decades!
It was all kinds of Purple!
Then, I jammed it again 2 days later! It’s still hurting and only barely usable! Useless digit!
But, I did get the 2004 Wolf Range back together.
I bought the Oven Safety Valve I needed ($200+ !) and installed it a couple of weeks ago.
It was a little ‘cooked’
The range was sitting outdoors for ‘at least’ a few years. The safety valve wouldn’t work at all. I took the button off and used WD40 to loosen it up. When I went to try to light the pilot the button caught fire! . The WD40 did work loosening up the internal mechanism. It was functioning when I put it back together. I never thought about whether or not WD40 was flammable. It is!
The new one, after I scavenged and swapped over the parts from the old AFTER forking over $200+ for it!..
Then, the range is way out of level. I leveled it the best I could.
It was approximately 1 inch out of level!
I’m going to go looking for some adjustable legs instead of the non-adjustable wheels that are on it now.
I just got the range back together a few days ago.
However, I was not able to get the oven pilot to stay lit. It needs more work.
This is the most this range has been together since we tore it apart to clean it before bringing it in to the 1924 Schoolhouse.
The last piece to get cleaned…and BOY OH BOY did it need it! Most of the range looked like that or WORSE! This piece looked like that all over…so did the range when we started on it.
Only the that very bottom grill remains off and that is just because I’m probably going to have to have a repair man (non-gender specific! ) out to get the oven pilot working. I’m going to try it myself again. IF I fail, I’ll make the call.
Again, I’m sure I’m leaving something out!
But in the meantime!

The insulation will make a big difference. Love the range.
Hello my friend, @G-paS!
I’m hoping so. I’m hoping it helps. It really should. Last Winter I watched 100’s and 100’s of $$$ escape out the ceiling! .
I agree on the range. I really like it, too! But, you should have seen it before we cleaned it. You wouldn’t have wanted it anywhere near your house. never mind in your kitchen!
Thank you, @G-paS ,

To Say This Place Was Cluttered IS An UNDERSTATEMENT! First Pass Through!..AND MORE!
Progress on the Grow has been temporarily halted.
Something very important just fell into place.
Having gotten around to ‘finally’ building “some” shelves in that odd little building - something that’s been needed since I moved the woodworking machines here - it was a great time to disgorge the 1924 Brick Schoolhouse Woodshop/Grow Residence.
To say it was cluttered might be the greatest understatements in all of understatement history!
It’s embarrassing how cluttered it had become. I wasn’t going to post pictures of it…but, on reconsideration, I am.
Real life shit!
This is just the “First Pass Through” subject to change
This is taken from the pocket door at the entrance to the Classroom (some is burn pile material that will be handled shortly), some of the boxes in front of the MASSIVE Island just need to be gone through.
This is all I’ve been doing for the past few days, making a first pass through, getting things out to the shed or prep the entranceway with stuff going out to the shed.
The island has just become a YUGE Catch-All, mostly due to the fact that I had not made a ‘Home’ for any of it, yet…
A couple of weeks ago my niece told me that the island top was rotated at one point and it was made to go the other way around. I rotated the MASSIVE Island top 180° by myself…not as easy at that ‘might’ seem. I took all the ‘big’, ‘top heavy’ items off of it and muscled it around.
It did not make a whit of difference. I’ve concluded it is just built wrong (down on the list).
There was a YUGE Settee in the Foyer where my toolboxes now reside. There was a YUGE lounging chair sort of thing.
They’ve been in here the entire time I have been.
Conveniently my niece asked for the YUGE chair thingy! Whew!
With the garage space somewhat more usable, at least for some temporary storage, that’s where I had intended to put both of them. They YUGE chair thing went to the Main House and the Settee went into the garage. My niece believes it is an antique Settee. I didn’t want to shoot her idea down, but it is NOT antique. It may not be 20 years old even. Its construction informs me.
But, here’s the starting point…
But, First Pass Through…everything in the foreground is going to the storage shed or to the burn pile…
*You’re NOT seeing double. That is an A/C unit I picked up that is identical to the one I have in the Loft now. It was purchased a few months after mine. I brought my trailer to where it was, loaded it up…got it back to the Schoolhouse…plugged it in and NOTHING! Not so much as a beep! (more on that in the future)
I don’t think I’ve been able to access the MASSIVE Island from all 4 sides since I moved the equipment in. Mostly because of the Settee and the YUGE chair thingy.
It’s a start.
It’s going to allow me to imagine the space how I originally intended it to be…a ‘first draft’, of sorts!
Now, for the “MORE”…
I’ve had this Torchère for decades. I’ve been packing it around for decades intending to rehab it at some point. I think it has earned the effort.
I finally got around to even looking at it more closely. The closest I have ever looked at it in all that time.
I brought them here to see if anyone here showed even the slightest interest (2 to 3 females, or more, here at any one point in time). No one ever did. That is likely to change once I complete it and display it in all of its glory.
This one, I have 2, is the more elaborate of the 2. The other is just a simple Torchère.
I’ve never personally seen a Torchère like it.
Up front, I have abused it. It had been in dry storage for the decades I’ve been packing it around.
When I brought them here, they were in much better shape then they are now.
I stored them outdoors in a covered area but it wasn’t dried in and it has a dirt floor
Some light corrosion has formed on them.
But, the really interesting thing to me is the elaborate light system in it.
I sprayed the nut with Penetrant Lubricant in preparation of the future…the underside of the base has surface corrosion on it from sitting in the dirt for about a year
This Torchère has THREE lighting systems in it. THREE separate switches on it for the THREE separate lights.
The very top, of course. The secondary triple bulb ‘candle’ light system…AND…
Drumroll!
The Colored Glass Base has it’s own light, inside. It is activated by the Foot Switch.
The very bottom colored glass is lighted from behind with my Headlamp to simulate what it would look like with its own light.
I’m not sure if the colored glass above the base glass lights up. My head is saying it must. Why have it IF not to display it with lights like the bottom ‘globe’(?) is.
But, besides wanting to rehab it, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT UNTIL THEN???
This what my overripe melon devised!
I have a coat-rack I have not been able to put up in the living space as it mounts to a wall. These walls are cement. I just haven’t devoted the time and effort to get it done, yet. I had this coat-rack mounted in the under-loft space, it was my ‘closet’ before I transformed it in to a grow space…leaving me no space for my clothes . You can see my solution in some of the pictures. I bought one of those portable closets off of Amazon and the bins to go underneath it. It is STUFFED right now. Just getting all of my clothes centrally located. I’ll sort that out over time.
Using it as a coat-rack for the time being solves two problems. It gives it a job (nothing around here gets away without having a job, having work to do! ) and I needed a coat-rack (coat-rack/hat-rack (I plan to display ballcaps along the upper perimeter of the ceiling (at some point in the future)) of some sort. AND, it keeps it forefront in my mind. I’ll have to pass it twice, every time I leave the schoolhouse and every time I return.
It’s going to be a beautiful Torchère again, in the future.
And, I’ll bet, ANY of the ladies that see it WILL want it as their own. I’ve never seen another one like it
I’ll be getting back to the grow space once I have the storage in storage and get some of these horizontal surfaces cleared up. That’s before I set up spaces for everything. Tools where tools belong. Hardware where hardware belongs…etc. That is in the distant future, but I have been at least sort of grouping like items together, sort of!
I hope you’re ALL having a Melodious evening!
Make it a great day!
Time for a . Join me?

Wow, WHAB!!! Love your work and what you’ve done with the schoolhouse! I am in I think similar straights in my house…not a hoarder house but cluttered as F&@k!!! Next week I am taking vacation and going to change that….
Hey @Sasquatch!
Thank you very much. That’s appreciated!
Yeah, I’m with ya…not a hoarder. It’s just that I literally didn’t have a place to put anything, around here at the Schoolhouse. I planned the storage shelves in the shed a while back, along with starting the new grow build…but COVID prices changed those plans. Oh, I even bought 2x3’s instead of 2x4’s because of the cost, at that time.
I’m sure from any outside observers perspective, I was a hoarder!
Given that potential perspective is why I originally wasn’t going to post the Pre pictures. It’s embarrassing, given any outward perspective. They wouldn’t have understood it IF I tried to explain it to them in advance…
I do hope for you a successful “vacation” de-cluttering , a disgorging!
All the best, Sas!

So, slow progress is still progress, right!?!? ( at myself!)
Second pass through, which included folding most of the clothing I have in this building.
The pile (all clean clothes, mind you ) has been on that large chair thingy since I laundered them, they were piled up on top of my 2 gallon bucket system since the chair was relocated. They are on the left of this image, before the portable closet…
***I started composing this a few days ago. I’m having problems loading images - again. An app popped up on my PC that I thought would “Import” the images in usable form. It did not. Then during the import it asked if I wanted to delete the images after the import was complete. I clicked “Yes”. It did import them but they won’t open on my PC. I deleted all of those files from my phone and now I can’t find a way to use them on my PC! ***
Second pass through is complete. Things are really shaping up! Nearer to what I envisioned, with some tweaking things along the way to improve upon it.
I’ll try and take MORE pictures of where things are at today but it’s been so frustrating and time consuming to work with TWO MONTHS of images I imported that are now unusable and those earlier images are GONE!
I hope you’re ALL doing well and fine!
Regards and ,
WHAB
Why can’t you use them bud? What is the file format they saved in?
Hey there Doug!
They say it’s a JPG but when I try to open it in MS Paint it says it’s a BMP and it can’t open that format.
Good to see you, @DougDawson !,
WHAB
You too bud. You could try this. Right click on the pic and select edit. Than click file, save as and change the format to JPG.
I did exactly what you recommended, @DougDawson, and I don’t get passed the “Edit” button. It refuses to open it…

WHAB
The problem is and always has been, my phone is getting FULL. I thought with this ‘new’ recommended app “Samsung DeX” it would handle the images differently than my previous attempts and comments on the process. It did not handle them any differently and now what I had - I imported TWO months - and they’re all gone…
WHAB
Same thing. I tried every program on your right click list.

WHAB
Ok, last thought, can you sync them back up with your phone?
Oh, I forgot to mention that ‘part’ of the problem is whatever format they are in Overgrow won’t load them. They just spin through the upload percentages and restart at 0% before going through it all again!
They are on my PC and Overgrow won’t load them…
