What’s the weirdest taste/smell you’ve had in a bud?

I haven’t had any, but the plants that smell like baby poop are weird to want.

Yumbolt from Sagarmatha Seeds had a very loud, earthy, muddy, swampy and pleasantly musty taste with a hint of sweetness. Really quite unique in in my experience.
I’ve grown it out 3 times, the last being about 10 years ago.

Back in 1976, there were 2 different kinds of weed around. On smelled of Diesel, ( In a BAD WAY ) and the other Cat Food. And it literally smelled like diesel fuel. I wouldnt smoke it, but those who did, said it tasted like it smelled. I figured it was either brought over in a diesel tanker, or was from paraquat. BOTH of them, would burst into flames on the end off a joint. Paraquat is oil based. I dont know what the cat food was, but it too, would burst into flames, when smoked.

I’d love to try that. What was the strain?

Have some Monster Banner that smells like pickles and cucumber. Tastes as weird as it smells, not super potent, more like decent mids, just weird.

Remember in the 80s getting some overpowerimg skunk/piss smelling bud. Tripple bagged and in your pocket could still smell it 20 feet away. Smoke would stink the house all day. Would love to find that again.

Carrot is super weird I can’t even put my finger on what that might smell like. Like fresh carrot or steamed carrots? :joy:

Got some seeds from that or was it the one that got away?

I had a “jota mayúscula” that I hated. I don’t know how to describe it, maybe smoking a pine cone. It was a freebie, purple as can be, and it tasted exactly how it smelled. Translated its “capital J”…I guess auto dark purple now…def wasn’t from Delicious; or delicious, lol.

what strain had a rose taste? chasing that one…

@Hippyhop Kinda like hazy steamed carrots. I’ve had a few sativa strains that have this kind of smell. My cousin always used to call it carrot weed :stuck_out_tongue:

@Phil_Bombs I’ve surprisingly got rose smell from 2 strains in the past 2 years. I grew out some dominion deadband f2s and I got a pheno or 2 that had a rose smell to it with some fuel which was really nice and more recently I grew some dead whabbits from santero and I got multiple rose or rose/fuel phenos. I wonder if those rose smells are coming from the diesel since both of these strains have sour d in the makeup.

So If someone had eaten a bunch of rotting meat and fruit, then puked it up that was the nose profile. So intense smelling it made me nauseous!

The flavor was so unique and odd tasting it was kinda indescribable…not necessarily bad tasting just weird, and ultra intense like the smell.

Dank ass weed though!!

Baby sick mixed with yoghurt and breast milk.
Lemongrass.
Also I find some OGs and kushes start to taste, smelland smoke like wet cigar if they’re left to cure for any significant period of time. I build up a tolerance to those pretty quick.

dill :ballot_box_with_check:
acetone :ballot_box_with_check:
wet forest :ballot_box_with_check:
rose :ballot_box_with_check:

Add:
terpentine :ballot_box_with_check:
perfume??? :ballot_box_with_check:

Wet forest maybe, not sure. We’ve experience the smell of cedar and a earthy types of taste. Add to that a vague smell of some sort of meat, like opening a can of Vienna sausages … which may be similar to cedar. Also, add terpentine. On the genotypes with those smells, the dominant terpenes eventually ended-up myrcene and limonene. The resulting profile was delicious especially after some time curing.

We did have some plants that exhibited, when consumed, a very flowery and perfume taste while in early cure. Like an overwhelmingly strong perfume on inhale that was so strong it made it hard to place. No mouth coating that I can recall. Exhale was a strong incense type of smell. After a number of months, the profile mellowed to a non-citrus non-distinct candy like smell in the jar. A pleasant smell to get excited about but unfortunately the translation over to taste was lacking on what we grew. Or, maybe the smell wasn’t matching the taste which was perplexing. Those were either Birds of Paradise or 72 Virgins, don’t recall which.

What an amazing plant.
