Who are the best or most consistent breeders?

Thanks so much for all your help! It’s truly appreciated. I understand you being cautious about mentioning other breeders, I’m certainly not looking to cause a rift between anyone. I think I’ll get a pack of your Strawberry Creme and check them out.

P.S. Would strains like DJ Shorts’ Blueberry and Bros. Grimm Cinderella 99 be stable, or not necessarily?

Led_Seedz won’t brag, but his stuff always looks very uniform, and you can trust his genetic pedigrees. It’s pretty obvious he has a lot of integrity when it comes to breeding cannabis. Search some of his test-crops here on OG if you haven’t been following his work.

Welcome back to the wonderful world of the cannabis seed market, 2018. It’s a wild west style green rush, and snake-oil salesmen abound.

I would consider C99 and Blueberry stable but I’m no breeder.

You seem interested in Bros. Grimm. From my experience you can find a keeper from a pack of C99. Personally if it was me I’d go for the cheaper Apollo 11 or Apollo 11 haze. Again you find a keeper with little effort.

If you really want C99 get it from FDM and grab a pack of his new Sweet tooth #4 for less than you’ll pay for Bros. Grimm C99. The Sweet tooth provides 2 desirable phenos to choose from.

I hold a cut of Blueberry that is 20 this year. I also hold a cut of C99 that I think is either 16 or 17 this year. I haven’t run either of their lines in years and years so can’t really speak on either.

I can tell you that the Blueberry I hold wears a chastity belt. I have bred her to 5 different stable males and in Every case the offspring show inter sexing traits. All trashed and never released.

I have been interested to try C99 since I used to grow back in the early 00s. I am wiling to pay for a quality strain if it’s consistent and true to it’s description.

Just browsing through some posts again and happened to notice the above comment and it made me laugh. Fermented mango vomit? And you say it was incredibly tasty? :joy:

Just reminds of a night many years ago when my wife (who rarely drinks) overindulged in some fruity wine cooler drink and vomited all over inside the car. It was definitely a fruity vomit bouquet but the word “tasty” never came to mind.

I get what you’re saying and finding a keeper in 2-3 plants may be as good as can be reasonably expected, but I don’t currently have the space or means to keep mothers. So finding a keeper does not enable me to repeat the pheno. And if I am only growing 1-2 plants (especially if they are not feminized seeds) at a time it could take me a relatively long time to find what I am looking for. And when I do, how many grows before I can get similar results again?

I guess what would be most to my liking would be clones. Sample some bud and if it’s good and tasty, get a clone. Should be exactly the same, right? The problem is that nothing is legal in my state so I can’t get clones. Seeds are my only option and most are fairly variable in the results.

As for the quality of FDM’s C99, we certainly have a handful of folks around here who have given it a shot with excellent results – @ryasco comes to mind, the pics are not for the weak of heart.

As for Brothers Grimm, there’s a thread showing off their gear and some discussion of their current beans. I grew their current Apollo 11 with great success and love the smoke, and tried to grow Apollo 13 and failed miserably, but that’s probably on me

Lots of interesting things about breeders here. Very cool to hear breeders give each other props. I can remember back in the day when there was only a handful of breeders and not that many more strains to choose from.

Disclaimer : I’ve not read the replies, i’m in rush for month and og miss me as hell ^^ So thx for the title.

This reccurent question is really borned ten years ago, we can debate on the source of this leitmotiv but in anyways, i take it like a very positive evolution of the community at the end. On my discover period, no newcomer talked about that and maybe this aspect have a part of responsability in the actual situation (quality comparison, potency only). I still very convinced than the human is the best tool to judge the quality of a high of a plant, instead the industrial THC/THCV/CBD analysis.

It’s for the context, now the short opinion on the title : I can hate or love the collection of someone, but i always consider breeders with at east ten years of real activity. And i count each decade as a form of military grade in a way. No matter what, if they survive the business there is someone somewhere than love it.

Modus the inherent factor of Ganja World : for a lot, the best strain released are in the start of theyr activity. How many amazing weed released in seeds before the breeder disapear too. Auctions are more atomized (dispatched ?) today and btw less present in our “instant culture”.Less fun than years ago, imho.

thx for the ride during the cone, i return to my hell

i dont have experience personally growing many breeders but based off what ive seen from others, bodhi probably has the biggest cult following on the forums i use. BOG and FDM both seem popular as well but havent seen many grow logs for them. LED seedz is very thorough and transparent with his work, i like how he includes filial generation.

I wanna say karma but there’s a lot of chucking being done there lately. I’ve gotta throw Serious seeds name in there if I haven’t already. The ak47 I bought recently is already throwing off that peppered, skunk, funk I remember from the late 90s
And they’re just little vegelings yet.
Sannies killing fields is consistantly stable plant to plant, herbal, fruity and really uplifting. I’ll definitely be trying his other strains.

thats good to hear i have a few sannies… killing fields is one and i think jackberry and sugar punch. for oldschool strains i’ve always wanted to grow ak47 and also black domina so i think i’ll get those eventually

the best 2 strains i ever smoked as a young’n were blue rhino (this one actually looked blue and stunk like skunk) and kahuna berry. haven’t been able to find any info. i did find a blue rhino but i don’t think it’s the same one.

I agree about the Killing Fields. I have plenty of strains from Sannie and some of the other breeders from opengrow. Although I’ve only grown out a few and the rest are in the fridge I can vouch for Sannie as being reputable. The last plant I grew was an “aztec rain” by e$kobar (chocolate rain x oaxacan) and I ended up liking it quite a bit. Had a unique smell that I likened to cherry pinesol. I still have a few packs of killing fields f5 in the fridge, the f6 generation was released not too long ago as well.

I like that Sannie works his lines for a long time. IMO you can’t really go wrong for how cheap they are, and if you buy 2+ of the same pack you get a pretty decent discount. I have had some orders not show because of CBSA but I’ve always had it made right and I appreciate that.

There’s still a few older packs of Dynasty gear you can get for very cheap there because the breeder used to be part of the forum before he blew up, now his packs sell for $100USD. Only thing that’s a pain is waiting but that’s part of the game!

I’ve been really wanting to grow out the “Sannie’s Jack” I have, supposed to be one of his most worked strains and he uses it in some hybrids as well.

I have too many seeds already but I don’t think there will ever be a time where I don’t have a huge wish list. I think Led Seedz will have to be the next on my list with all this bud porn I’ve been seeing lately.
