Definitely follow Georges advice and let them get a bigger before you flip. It will probably only double or maybe triple in size after you flip the lights. I think Iā€™d wait another couple weeks. Looking Happy and healthy!

Wasnā€™t going to flip yet I still have to get into 3 gallon pots and let them fill those. I just wasnā€™t sure if there was a suggested size that I should let them get too before hand or just treat them like a normal bud run?

Use your judgement. Grow them as if it were a seedless run.

You donā€™t need big plants for a seed run. I have a 4x4 tent, and I did a full OP on the Maui Mango Haze run. I had 5 seeded plants, and I got 11,500 seeds off of them. All the plants were in 2 gallon fabric pots, and were around 4ft tall.

I had 3 pollen chucks that I ended up with 7000 seeds from.

I guess Iā€™m just way over thinking it with seeing a number to be produced. Iā€™mma just let it grow, trust the gut, and whatever it is, is what it is.

Grow them like you are growing budsā€¦ just make sure you and the pot have enough room to accomodate them. If you can grow buds you can grow seedsā€¦ same thing just one been knocked up.

an indica lover, the best landrace Iā€™ve had was the Afghan Kush from World of Seeds. I ran it for over a decade and still have a buddy holding onto it for me. It is very strong and narcotic, smells and tastes of hash and pineapple. Was a patient favorite in my circles for a long time. I believe it has a decent amount of CBD too, never had it tested, but it does wonders for pain. My buddy wonā€™t grow anything else he loves it so much, and itā€™s always gone as soon as itā€™s ready.
The above was a post on OG from 2017. Sounds great! I hope you get a keeper! Hows the plants?

I did some lst, plants are nice and bushy. Probably going to go to 12/12 Sunday or maybe 11/13 this time to give it a try.

Number 3 is still the smelliest but also the smallest.

Took some random guesses at sexes but this is the first time trying so. Who knows.
Hereā€™s my guesses
5 male. 1 male. 7, female, 2 I have no guess yet, 4 male, 3, female, 6 male

There are looking nice, maybe a bit high male /females ratio, donā€™t you think so?

Any plans with the males?

Looking good. Coming along nice. 11/13 light cycle is more for sativas, no? Is that a thing for indica?

I could deffinetly be wrong. Iā€™ve never guessed before flowering, there deffinetly could be more females. I just wanted to try to gain experience.

Honestly man I have no idea. Just had a couple buddies that were doing it with their strains. But thatā€™s all new stuff. I guess I should stick with 12/12 this round. I know you know a hell of a lot more than me when it comes to this stuff :stuck_out_tongue:

@Chronickyle ā€¦including the little tops that are coming out of the plant, count down four sets of leaves from the very top shoot. Usually that Clump at the top of the plant contains two or three sets of leaves. So generally when a plant has 10 sets of leaves, I would count up from the bottom to the 7th set of leaves and look there for sex parts

What exactly should I be looking for to identify the males. I was guessing it was male by noticing the small little ball, females are easy with the pistils, just never tried before flip. So all help is greatly appreciated

I have culled ladies thinking they were males :disappointed:, now I just flip them all and wait until they have enough masculinity hanging to cull them ā€¦ ejem|nullxnull

Probably best to do as George is saying in most cases, which is to wait until you see balls. Iā€™ve been doing this 30 years and I wait until I see balls. Once I have them sex, I separate them into two piles ,every once in awhile a plant will trick me, so I donā€™t cull anything until Iā€™m sure. For me itā€™s about 1% of the time and itā€™s usually a plant that I think is a female but itā€™s a male. Best way to explain what male parts look like early, is like a miniature tomatillo . If you can get close up shots of those nodes up close to the top of the plant, could probably figure it out. Afghan plants will often sex before there are 10 sets, sometimes as few as seven or eight sets. Set them into two different piles based on looks alone. Youā€™ll find that you get pretty good at judging what is what before you can even find sex parts. You probably already do that anyway.

Lots of times the sex part will be hiding behind those pointy things ( editā€¦stipules)that are at the junction of where leaves meet the main stalk when you are looking very earlyā€¦ I can never remember the damn name. I usually use a toothpick to pull them out of the way so I can look behind them if I need to get the plants sexed early.
Howā€™s that number three plant smelling nowā€¦ Mr or Mrs stinky?

allotment empollon|nullxnull taught me they were called stipules ejem|nullxnull, as you sure already knew it ā€¦ beer3|nullxnull
