4 Way Genetics (Canada)

I remember a strain that was called 4 way it was around in Toronto 99/00 ish. I think it was Afghani / skunk / one of the pearls either early or silver / and AK 47 if I remember right . It was being grown outdoor and was really really good weed .

Really late to this party.

Has anyone brought up texada timewarp as a Canadian strain?

MikeJ at Peakseedsbc has done some work with Texada. Here is a couple shitty shots of his Texada Skunk from a number of years ago . It did great indoors and out .

Hey there @Totorome6 , do you realize you just responded to a post from May 15, 2020? I see this is your first post here on OG so welcome. Drop by the introduce yourself thread and meet everyone. It may help if you get to know some folks and learn how the site works a bit.

I had heard on the Breeder Steve PotCast it was an NL2 cut potentially.

Would love to find it one day! I do have some Dynamite seeds from Next Gen which is probably as close as I’ll come.

I like this idea of Canadian preservation runs.
I’d be willing to participate.
I do 3 cycles a year, I need one cycle for a bud run, and one cycle for my own personal seed run, and I can do whatever with the other cycle.
Not specifically in that order either.

You are breathing some life into this old thread… :wink:

Originally one of the ideas was to figure out how a bunch of growers with limited resources could do the equivalent of a thousand plant pheno hunt and share the results.
Since then we’ve figured out how to handle and store pollen reliably so that could add a new dimension to the work.

Where do your interests lie? What sort of group project would you envision?

@Gpaw

Yea, I’ve been away from the forums for a couple years, so now just trying to catch up on all the shenanigans I’ve missed :laughing:

A 1000 plant pheno hunt eh? That’s definitely a feat, but very intriguing.

I would love to learn, about the pollen storage strategy you guys figered out.

My interests really lie, in the fact that I feel the gene pool of cannabis has been VERY diluted, and would like to see more of the older strains saved and worked instead of all these “cookies” strains and the like, getting us farther and farther away.
Not saying I’m against the newer strains or anything, as there’s some pretty good stuff out there. Just saying I’m getting more and more nostalgic as time goes on.

I’ve been talking with a member on this thread about possibly running something he has to up the seed count. I really don’t wanna say who, or what, incase they wouldn’t want me to say anything at this time.

I just made an order from Ace Seeds and got their Chitral Kush coming in the mail.

I could do a seed run on those and make enough for us to go through and find something wonderful in there, if that’s something ya’ll might wanna do?

I’m more interested in old strains myself…

I’ve got some Ace Golden Tiger (I suspect they are the 2nd iteration) chilling in the vault that I haven’t any plans on.
I’m in the middle of a protracted move so I’m limited in grow space and I’m committed to a tester grow this winter :roll_eyes:
So, yes, Chitral Kush sounds good.

Now where the ‘wheels fell off’ last time was trying to figure the process of how a ‘distributed hunt’ would work.
Roughly, the thinking went that everyone involved would start with some seeds, say 30?
Sort through them (treat this as a ‘black box’ because the process wasn’t well defined) and send clones of their best picks to all of the other folks in the group for them to work with. That was Phase 1.

It’s all ‘big brush strokes’ as the details need to be properly worked through but you get the idea… :vulcan_salute: :wink:

Cheers

@Gpaw

Well, if we get enough people and put our heads together and figure it out, I’m down to participate.
