4th run: Hindu Kush & Orange Grove x GG4 RIL

I’ll look into the green point thing. I just didn’t know if I should keep the seeds in separate containers from them, or to just throw all the seeds together since the same parents. And of course there’s random stray pollenated hairs all over all the plants which I have no idea which crosses they’re guna be! This controlled pollenation shit is frikkin impossible!!! And Floyd, I am LOVING your cross man!! They are SO STICKY! And the smells are incredible! They’re really starting to come out, It really does feel like walking through an orange tree grove, but a super sticky one lol

4 weeks flower. Not too much going on, they’re getting bigger, though it doesn’t seem like it, haven’t tended to them much being busy with stuff, just pop in to water
Hindu Kush

this thing is so sticky!! Just combing through to check her out and inspect leaves fingers super sticky! The smell has changed from the lime/berry smell to a more earthy funk smell. It seems like as the buds I hit with pollen keep growing, all the new growth seems to be seeded too! It’s like the seeds just keep coming even though it’s been almost 2 weeks since I did it. Dunno. It’s crazy. Definitely going to be a shit load of seeds in this grow.
OGXGG4 RIL
these suckers are also extremely sticky!! Full or sparkle and trichs. The smells have shifted with these as well from mainly orange, berry smell, more towards that funky potent smell from the GG4 side! The mix with orange makes for a fantastic smell that keeps me leaning in for a wiff and a sigh of contentment, and super happy she will bear another generation of seeds to enjoy in the future, again, way more seeds then I’ll need lol. Guna take a long time to get this seed making shit down to a controllable micro scale

I certainly appreciate the compliments my friends! I been feeling kinda down on this grow, partly cuz I half assed the pollen chucking and got way too many seeds all over, and the plants seemed to have dramatically slowed down growth. Only thing that’s changed is the temperature, it’s dipped down inside the cab to the 60s with lights on, and 40-50s off. Which is cool cuz I wana see if some purples come out, which they kinda are on the Hindu!
Oh ya. 5 weeks now!!

They’re coming along though. Tips are a bit yellow, but looking good. And the frostiness is lovely! And the smells…….phenomenal!!! I love just sifting through the buds and getting that sticky finger and just sniff my fingers til the primo smell slowly goes away and turns into that brick weed smell lol

…Ive noticed alot of times, certain strains are hard to lock in an adequate feeding level. They either yellow from lack of food, or burn from excess nutes.

I don’t want to knock your methods, but you should try throwing some Botanicare Pure Blend Pro on them. I’ve noticed that some plants responded particularly well to it :grinning:. Get them properly fed without burning them…reduce the headache.

I know of alot of lines that are breed exclusively with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro…1/4 strength for seedlings 1/2 strength first watering and then full strength till the end of flower. Alot of times the bloom formula is used as an additive on top of the veg formula during flower. You should be able to go full strength veg formula and full strength bloom formula during flower without getting any burn.

The breeding process typically takes place in a sterile environment, that is there are no microbials and inert media is used. This is done not to keep the area clean, but to ensure that the plants do not become dependent on the microbes.

Make sure to gradually increase the strength of the bloom formula at the beginning of flower! (1/2 strength then full strength)

Cool anecdote — Jack Herer was actually exclusively breed with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro and the Jack breeding program was used for testing Pure Blend Pro before market release of the fertilizer :yum:!

@Kabuddha im still a noob so my non methods are always open for knocking! I can confidently say I have never heard of Botanicare. This is something I feel inclined to research though that is for sure, I’m still trying to find “my” knack at this growing business, I can grow a plant but sure I’m far from getting the most out of it! I know this by scrolling through most grows here lol. I thank you for taking the time to drop this intel here for me and for others to read!

Glad to be of help to you. Botanicare is actually the professional breeders nutrient of choice. Hobbiest level and at home Gros typically go for the high microbe bioactive medium/additives. The microbials add that extra juice to your mix maximizing home grows. Make sure to throw some advanced nutrients bud candy on them too…

@Kabuddha I got a sample pack from sample nutrients on eBay, Technaflora. I’ve just been using it on my houseplants, but it came with microphozia or something like that, strange name. Is that similar to what you’re talking about, with feeding microbes?? I seen the word thrown around here before, just never looked into it. Is it too late to use it? Isn’t it best during veg stage? Or would now be a good time to use it?

Mycorrhizal fungus interacts with the roots and helps them grow faster. Those are some of the microbes that can help your grow, yep. Lactobacillus is also a helpful one, and I don’t have a copy of the back of my fertilizer bag now but organic dry fertilizers typically come with a fairly long list of microbial colonies too. As for feeding the microbes, bud candy and all those products are pretty much water with molasses and occasionally potassium sulfate, marked up by 800%. Not worth buying the brand names, but absolutely worth making sure the root zone gets adequate sugar and nutrients with a DIY. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh ok! Ya I figured a good deal of stuff out there is overrated marked up products for the high strung type growers, but I’m sure much out there is absolutely beneficial for the soil and plants. I have been using the molasses tho! Both fresh, and even after it’s fermented and smells like rotten cheese sticks lol. Haven’t noticed anything bad.

So I’m confused. I pollenated 3 weeks ago. I figured the buds would go back to normal growth with white hairs sticking out all over. These buds are still showing seeds growing from the tips of the buds. Is this normal??

Maybe all the buds just grew into all the hairs that were hit? Idk I’m confused. All I know is I’m going to have hundreds of seeds lol
I’m loving the purples coming out on this Hindu though, the camera doesn’t capture it as good but she’s puuurrrrtttyyyyyyy

We at week 6 now! These are from yesterday. The Hindu Kush I’m trying to figure out, it says they finish in 7 weeks, some of the lower buds aren’t producing hairs and some of the trichs on them are even getting amber already! But the main cola still has white hairs and not ready. Think I’ll harvest some of the lower ones since Hindu is 100% indica maybe they won’t be so couchlock?

OGXGG4 RIL are coming along great! Really fattening up, what swollen calyx’s that I thought were seeds, are not seeded, just SWOLLEN!! Purple is coming through in them also from the colder outside air, one is still a fruity sweet smell, the runt is getting that straight GG4 funk! I had to seal the vents better to the carbon filter, cuz the whole area around the shed and into my neighbors yard it just stinks to high heaven! Holy moly its strong! @MoBilly you weren’t kidding about the straight funk off these ladies! The HK is just as funky so it’s just all around stick oily dank in there!

Overall I’m SUPER happy with this grow so far, definitely my best one yet and looking forward to watching how the OGXGG4 starts to change these next few weeks! Thanks for stopping by! And there will be plenty of seeds for sharing I’m sure

I’ve noticed orange grove is a heavy feeder. Mine really likes the spray… they might mature a little quicker if you give them stronger feed or use a foiler spray. I would also suggest a root accelerator when cloning… Plants are looking fantastic!

These plants are high maintenance guys…just a heads up.

I think 7 weeks would be extremely fast for any strain. I wouldnt worry about what " they " say. When they are ready they are ready.
The OG x GG4 I would say will need at least 9 - 10 weeks having grown both parents. But again, they are ready when they are ready.

LOL!! She definitely has a pungency to be sure! I would tell you to be patient though. I took mine at 9 weeks and think another ~ week would have been better. I am going for the more narcotic effects though. That’s my preference.

7 weeks down! Two days into week 8, or 51 days. Getting ever so closer!! Hindu I picked a few branches early to see what we think of that, how guna let the rest finish to a true knockout indica. Heck yes!!! Loving this Hindu smell she gives off, smells effing good!! They are leafier than I’d like, not as much bud stacking as some of the hybrids, maybe it’s this particular pheno? Dunno! Wish I had more to compare it to. Oh wait, I have 6000 seeds forming in these buds :joy::rofl::joy: I49 only sends 4 seeds per pack.

All I can say is I’m so lucky to be one of the few to be able to grow these out! These are coming out better and better through the flowering stage. Smells are getting stronger, and funky with a sweet bitter smell. Buds are getting fatter and more swollen, some buds got funny clusters of hairs on the very top. Even looks like fox tails are starting, but can’t tell. These are super sticky with lots of oily stuff too!
Thanks for stopping by, it’s time to start torturing yourselves with Christmas movies so get on it!
