CBD or THC - which is better for pain?

I used to vape Charlotte Angel while at work. It’s mega relaxing and although it never fully stopped the pain in my knees caused by cppd it certainly helped make it a lot more manageable. Being a roofer by trade thc is a no go. Being high while up high is just asking for trouble.

Yeah my sister’s ex BF learned that the hard way. he somehow lived, but he fell 50 feet on his ankle and while he didn’t walk away he still has both legs and feet somehow. Functional enough to continue being a roofer.

I think CBD is better. My granny has been using it and really feeling better. THC is good also.

Something like one of my favorites, Penny Wise. It is a 1 to 1 ratio, supposedly. Not that I doubt it! This is most likely the reason for my survival during the past several months (3 slipped disc and sciatic nerve disorder with it). No Dr. seemed(s) to be willing to try anything other than Hydro-codon 5/325 every 6 hours. Yes, that will take care of all the problems or lead to more. I still have half a bottle of those useless little white shits around here somewhere. But, guess what? When I was in the right pain, I was willing to try every one of those useless little white shits, and any and all possible remedies until the torment eased enough for me fall into a shattered heap and seek the ability to recover. This is still a recovery process. I have found out, that cannabis is a marvelous natural creation. But, I had (have) pain that I am beginning to think will never leave. Cannabis does not seem to be able to dull the pain, enough!

Ya that ain’t no shit! Mine went out on me spitting out tooth paste at a bathroom sink … had to crawl to bed 6’ away and the next day an ambulance took me off the bed on a backboard fully strapped angling around the bedroom door was a feat in itself!

Hi there, I know what you are going through, been there many times. Operations, more operations… pain hour after hour, bad night sleep medication that wastes your body little by little (fuck I’m having a good buzz while writing this… Royal jack) sorry had to vent here.

Anyway in your case I would try making Cana oil. And from there edibles. For.me.it works a lot better than smoked. I normally do take.some.on.my bad days just before i.go to bed works wonders.

I find oil when activated is stronger 1:1 compared to any edibles I make with it. It’s why I’ve been making no bake edibles lately. The occasional properly baked one with trim butter for experiments. Same butter was effective with no more than a sugar cube sized chunk. After baking it was less effective. Each roll had a tablespoon of oil in it. Each roll hit exactly the same at least, but my method will have to find a dough mix that bakes closer to the 250-280f range. Quick bread really only has so much variance in mixes really.

Did you have an xray or mri done? You can’t keep living in pain like that. It takes its toll on you after a while. It will start to wear you down.

Yes I did and I can’t explain the scans outside of when I say I got them done at Lahey I’m told that’s why :joy: regardless something is causing my spine to be in a strange shape and one of my columns I can’t feel anymore. My doctor a couple years ago sent me for the scans to see what made my spine pop out in the middle regardless of the bend she had me do to trace my spine. I wish I could find the source of this pain. Some days I don’t even get out of bed as laying on my side is the only way the pressure stops and that apple on my back isn’t dealing with any downward force. Occasionally a good back pop will make the apple vanish, but only for an hour or so. Any time I feel pressure there I try to pop it away. I talked to my GF about it and when the time comes that I can afford to get my back looked at again I’ll have to go without smoking, dabbing, vaping, consuming cannabis in any way, and no joint popping of any kind for a week at least before the scans. I’m going to hate it :upside_down_face: it’ll be worth the accurate scans, but during that time I’m pretty sure I’ll be bitching about every ache and pain as each bone goes out of alignment and I slowly lose my ability to stand up easily. My last T-Break took out my legs when a pain spike hit. Luckily not paralyzed, but just nearly fainted and legs went jelly. Hell or high water I’ve found a way to consume cannabis and specifically anything that is good as an anti-inflammatory if I can choose ever since. CBD, CBC, CBG-A, and CBD-V make a nice combo. I found a local CBD shop that just started opening doors over here. Technically not a local brand though. I guess they started in California or Colorado, but regardless that combination with CBN is in their broad spectrum products. THC as well in the full spectrum tincture. Sadly the only product they sell full spectrum is a 1000mg nano emulsified water soluble tincture for about 100-150 or so. I just grab the carts TBH. They’re all lab tested and no funky shit of any kind is in any cartridge tested as well as any oil used in them.

That combination of terpenes and cannabinoids I listed awhile ago somewhere on this forum I actually managed to find locally

Anytime you’re pinching nerves it hurts like hell. Not sure if there’s enough weed for that lol. I was a wrestler, and if it can be ripped or torn, I’ve probably done it. Knees, shoulders, back, neck, etc. I was in a car wreck and got some pretty good whiplash - still don’t feel right after that one. I walk with a limp, have to be very careful with the back. Damn it sucks getting old lmao! Cannabis legalization couldn’t have come at a better time in my opinion lol!

Dang, doesn’t sound like fun at all. If you are getting those electric, stop you in your tracks pain, that is definitely a pinched nerve. And to go without pain meds for a week to get a scan - ouch. I make my own cbd oil. I’m sure it’s not as good as what some of the pros make, but it is a full spectrum extraction from either ac/dc or charlotte’s angel, and it works way, way better for me than those “cbd candies” you get at the gas station. Hope you get it figured out. I couldn’t walk with a knee injury for almost a year. It’s so damn annoying how something like that can take over your whole life.

And completely throw your entire body off balance. Physically and mentally. I have been there far too many times and the oil has always been a saving aid.

I dare say this and run the risk being made fun of but I even tried homemade suppositories with canna oil and they would make the pain in my hips go away and I could sleep. Because pain is not just physically debilitating, and those who have been through this know what I am talking about, it’s also mentally braking you little by little and you get tired of being like that. So I guess THC also helps in that sense so a balance of both would be the best?

Exactly!!! That’s what I was saying to OniTenshu. The pain just wears you down. Starts to suck the life out of you! About 20 years ago I turned to yoga to try and heal a few things, and I have been very happy how it has changed my life. As long as I don’t get too crazy, my low back stays fairly pain free. The knee will never be the same.

I miss when I was lively. It sucks having to wait a week, but still worth it as I’m currently uninsured until work benefits start unless November rolls around first or masshealth let’s me pay for a account sooner. The free one is nice, but it’s insanely expensive if you have any issues :grimacing:

Yes. It runs on my mom’s side. I’m just one of the few unlucky guys in the family with it too. I can’t use my hands unless I pop them constantly

I’m betting on 1:1 !

Making some cannabutter with a 1:1 strain to treat my frozen shoulder. Talk about intense pain.

I was gifted some leaves and stems from a harvest my parents had and while I can’t say they get me high they definitely have a lot of terpenes that helps anxiety and shockingly pain. Whenever I make a batch of edibles or a topical the green dragon wash gets added to it for the effects I’m trying to get. If it helps on its own, with THC and CBD from bud/oil in the mix it just makes bad pain days go away and I’m usually forgetting I have aches at all.
