Yes i feel the same way, I am not counting. I read what is interesting and now connect with OG members and its fun. When I have been here long enough and participated enough the system will move me along. When I have my first successful seed run I will be happy to share. I have found the OG community to be a great resource and members supportive, helpful and generous.

I still think people like @MoBilly should be allowed access to whatever damn threads they want, even if he hasn’t read 25% of the messages on the forum. And a system that doesn’t allow for that could use work, that’s all I’m saying. I also said above that I don’t think it can be changed anyway, it’s probably hard-coded and out of all our hands, so c’est la vie.

There will always be two conflicting sides and interests. We are looking for fine balance, which is the unachievable ideal. It is impossible to satisfy everyone.

I understand all the reasoning behind limiting seed run co-op threads and posting in that forum; what really bothered me about the level situation here is not only that @MoBilly in particular is enough of a regular to be there already, but that in this case he and I are both locked out of the Private Lounge where @JohnnyPotseed had his thread moved to protect from Google bots. It seems like limiting the Private Lounge thread to members or higher would serve just as well, to me… there’s no seed runs going on there, are there?

I totally get wanting to prevent people from abusing the seed runs, and I’m not trying to argue about it. It’s in order to keep community runs in the community rather than being taken advantage of. Not that it’s relevant, but I support that it even if it mildly inconvenienced me. I’d rather be able to sign up for the seed runs myself without having bots taking every open spot 5 minutes after it’s posted, and once it’s hit Google’s databases.

I’m curious about the bud worms. What are they? I have problems with worms in my broccoli, kale and cabbage but I’ve never had worms in my herb in NY. Most of my grows have been indoor since the mid 90’s except for the last two years. Is this bus worm a new pest?

Where I am they’re mostly the larva of this moth (the southern pink moth, pyrausta inornatalis). They dig into the flowers, bite the inner stem, and dig into the stem eating the stuff that’s got lots of sap, which kills everything further down the bud than the bite site.

Bots, huh. You are able to sign-up for co-ops, giveaways, auctions subject to whatever requirements there are in the OP just like everyone else. If you miss out on an opportunity, there will be more.

There’s a bunch of posts in the private lounge. You do not have access to those either. If someone chooses to post into those areas, it’s up to them. Similar to everyone else, you’ll just need to earn access to those areas.

Keep in-mind that you’ve been a community member for a total of 15 days. Lodging a bunch of complaints, ignoring guidance, and complaining about not getting ‘free’ seeds is not convincing.

Germinating some seeds - How I do it

I recently posted about how I germinate my seeds. So figured I’d post some pics I first take about 1/4" of pure worm castings, then wet it down good, using a towel to soak up any standing excess off the surface. I place it on a heatpad with an insulator between to lessen the temps a bit. put a humidity dome over it, with a towel to give it the dark it needs. Let it sit 24 hrs to acclimate. Then I place any seeds I want to germinate, I usually place them in orderly rows of each strain, to kee…

Ok, apparently I’m rubbing you the wrong way by mentioning it and I’ll stop. Sorry about that; I’m getting more than plenty of free seeds, people have been very generous and I have no complaints about the fact that people have to earn trust. I just thought the system could be improved in some aspects, my bad. I guess I’m not trusted enough to weigh in on that either, and that’s fine.

good vives to your eye site . yea you need the best grow room glasses money can buy limit time in grow grow i reckon will help also. can not buy new eyes as far as i know. unless you get doner eyes from a dead person.

Yes good idea, I have a medical exemption for tinted windows on my truck from my eye doc, I wear Rx Polaroids. I am using the Sunglasses from the Cataract Doctor now in the grow area. I have blue eyes, the most easily damaged so yeah I am all in, especially with these great new lenses implanted in my retinas giving me a whole new world to see again.
