For me it’s because the leaf color and morphology, the alligator leaf look. As if the venation of the leaves resembles alligator or dragon scales. It’s got that classic TK look to me! They all look very good but you’re a proficient gardener so makes sense! Many blessings and much love

Anyone running the Bombthreat x HP13 ?
I have few plants completely seeded yet this stuff reeks through carbon filter with the most unique stench…a combination of porcini mushrooms, og, chem and bubba terps. Never smelled anything remotely similar.

Im reproducing Afghaan 90, didnt have time now for controlled pollination, so everything is seeded with it…and Im kind of happy about it.

I often wonder why there isn’t more reg hybrids being made from him. I guess people want s1 and fems. I dig both. He definitely has some reg work I’m gonna grab eventually.

How could he make regulars, using legacy clone-only cuts, without injecting foreign genetics into the mix? If you want random reg crosses, you should check out Cali Connection, he crosses his legacy cuts with junk to make regs.

Ummm …maybe sorta like how he has regular now…he had to have males…and I’m sure if the s1 wasn’t super lucrative… he’d have more regs. See my post was pretty much rhetorical… And for the part about Cali connection id never buy any of that groups gear. Assuming I want random crossed junk is kinda weird … not knowing or ever having conversation with me. But hey maybe your just a really big fan.

Why introduce a male into a proven elite cut genetics ?
S1 is the way to go, the downside is they are not running higher numbers of that S1 and making the line better each time aka actual breeding work
But those FEM x FEM or S1 are much better to reach a decent smokable product.

There are many different approaches and motivations for breeding but there are tons of reasons to introduce a male to a elite clone, hybrid vigor , the start of a backcross , to do actual breeding work to improve upon a particular trait just to name a few.
Also would like to note that I have had great experiences when speaking to swerve and my best plant comes from a cross I made with a male from one of his lines, most of the people hating on Cali connect have never grown there gear and are just regurgitating hate from past forum bs they probably were not even part of….

I wasn’t going to do all of the explaining… lol if you don’t know why males would be introduced into a program… nothing ill say would get you in that train of thought… But that’s exactly why I make increase on regular lines I find good in. Because at the rate this plant is going it’ll be a bottle neck herm party not to long from now.

Nah, its an open conversation and I cannot discern the subtleties of your unexpressed inner thoughts from the clear and direct words of the question you posted… which I have validly answered. To me, getting yer feelers triggered by a valid answer to a question you ask in an open discussion is weird 
CSI’s regular lines were created by him crossing his legacy cuts to Pirates of the Emerald Triangle strains lIke PCK… a strain which I would also label as junk… but I will assume you already know that… because clairvoyance.

Ok. Your right. I’m going to stop this before it clearly gets away from CSI convo… And I would guess by your thought in conversation…You would think pck males to elite cuts are junk. I mean it’s not a pk you’d just pop and find all elite worthy…that’s the aim with fem seed hybrids…those regs would take Working like people use to do…but why slave over suday dinner… when you have door dash right:roll_eyes:

PCK is a isolated and worked landrace with all sorts of variance and, even if only to me, less than desirable terps. Its those legacy terps and tastes that make the legacy cuts alluring and, they are the reason people flock to breeders like CSI: Us older heads have a nostalgia for the strains we “grew up with” versus the highly cookie-dominated strains that are predominant in the commercial market today.
Commercial growers like Tiki Madman, cookies, or, Trichome Technologies, can rave about finding a keeper or two in a 5,000 seed grow of unstabilized chucks but, us home growers dont have the time space nor money for such a venture and some of us do prefer not needing to hunt so many seeds to find “the one” we were looking for

See that’s just it … it’s more than just terps and taste for me…but that’s what’s king Now… Hence me saying this plant is gonna go south fast… there’s tons of reason to have s1 around much more than locked in terps . Its locked in Traits…period…effects, growth patterns, yield…ECT. what one s1 line has might be great for numerous of reasons…but a regular line of same s1 line would have a wider spectrum of other cool traits that s1 line doesn’t show … in 30 yrs alot of folks won’t know skunk bud use to actually smell like skunk… why . Because it was took a different way. Get a pk of s1 from anywhere and you’ll still get citrus/floral from skunk. Perfect example of bottle neck. S1 are inbreeding, fem to fem will bring hybrid vigor . But only of certain individuals from a said line.
