CSI Humboldt Seeds

I have some Humboldt snow otw. I’m gonna use em to do some bx, and ix work to lock Humboldt snow in reg seed form as best I can. If CSI wouldn’t have kept the cut and s1 it. It would probably be lost. But I like it enough to try and get really close in reg form.

Anyones else’s order tracking been on label created for a long time? Mines been since last Sunday, figure I’ll give it a few more days till Monday/tuesday before I email and ask if it may have been lost in the mix.
Same happened last time but it showed up the day I finally decided to email :joy:

Did you pay for tracked shipping? USPS is notoriously lame at updating their tracking info, they hardly every update tracking details unless you pay extra for for tracked shipping or, sign on delivery. Basically, untracked mail goes in the mailbox and, then just magically appears at its destination

I mean my order, I got the emails of order shipped and the priority mail tracking from him Sunday night so I figured it’d probably go out Monday. still just saying label created but I’m pretty sure it was the same last order too so I’m kinda just waiting for it to magically appear like you said haha

Huh? Tracked usually is… but yeah, they have been providing less and less insight over the past 2 years as they cut back on their forces and make their delivery personnel pick up the slack. They will most likely arrive either the day you email him, or the day after :joy:

I think when used in the right way landraces like pck have great potential as breeding tools. I was breeding with a pck line from cannabiogen at the same time Caleb was and even did one of the same crosses unintentionally.
It brings reliable color and compact structure into lines where that may be desired.
By its self it is not what I would consider a great line for smoking pleasure but this is true of many landraces , they typically breed true for a narrow line of traits that when used in the right way can be used to improve lines lacking those very traits.

Definitely! I do have a few packs of his urkle BX1 and, some f2’s from OG’ers, but the smell and taste hasnt been the grape goodness I have been looking for. It definitely makes the Urkle grow faster and, yield higher

Mine has been on “pre-shipment, label created” for a couple of days

I have another package coming from a different city, it’s been in the same pre-shipment status for the same amount of time

Sometimes it doesn’t update on the tracking even when it’s on the way

In my case I figure it’s either on the way without an update, or it’s actually waiting to be picked up bc CSI is probably a little ways outside a city

I’ve actually been collecting what urkle I can lately as well.…it’s random and all over the place

Same, I had Urkle back in 2003 when you could get her clones in the clubs, but dumped her for growing so slowly. I really want her back.

S1’s can be more variable than F1 crosses and, can expose hidden ancestral granparent genetic traits. Recently CSI grew out, I can not recall, was it 150 Bubba kush S1’s? He found one keeper and one secondary-- S1’s aren’t that locked in… they may have higher potential probabilities of reproducing a growth pattern or terp profile of the parent plant but, they can also provide a high degree of variability. My last grow of 36 Bubba Kush S1’s had small plants, tall plants, dense plants, long viny plants with fluffy buds, two plants with dreaded buds, and one haze smelling variant… they were all over the place. Yes, higher probabilities of getting the kush smell I love so much, but also a lot of other variants that were nothing like the real Bubba Kush.

I had same happen with my shipment, just be patient:) it will arrive!

The 5150 is a step in the right direction as I said in the past, if I was a serious breeder I would’ve bought 10+ packs of it, hunt the best and continue selfing the keeper and hunting & isolation the line more, ending with a very strong keeper that makes very consistent seed batches according to my selections ofcourse.

But again, that’s the work CSI needs to do, we are just small time growers that wants to smoke some good bud…

I’m looking forward to see another selection made from the 5150, maybe high potency and high terps count ? Breeding is fun, when you actually do it

seem like u got a great opinion and im not tryna knock u or anything but man, touting cali connection as a great seed brand is so funny to me. that guy definitely owes me some replacement packs of tahoe og, ghost og, and a bunch of other trashcan stuff i got at a high times event on accident one time. i was just really ripped and thought it might be good. also, this was years ago when they first started, maybe eventually they got better stuff or got some good stuff out there idk. does seem to have a good list, but do they really come out like great plants, idk, never seen a lot or anyone growing em to be honest. archive seems alot better n more reputable to me. that Face Off OG n stuff seems to be the better OG out there nowdays unless there is real classic stuff around still . i have no idea, seen some pics from some ppl of good stuff out there.

anyways, thats great info about the purple erkle bx1. thats something i do want to try but maybe youre right and its not going to be exactly what im looking for. idk why you say grape tho, because GDP is grape. Erkle was more of a purple skunk / dark flavor, maybe a little grapey bc of the color, but not anything grape like GDP or grape ape. maybe youre looking for grape ape or something. no idea where that plant went either, but a lot of this stuff seems to be gone. ppl claiming to have it, have what i might just start calling “bS1s” lol. Im hoping to find something like Erkle and GDP in its most purest form too so this is no diss. just my experience and opinion as well.

i think if its seeds that pop and you get good plants atleast its worth buying and trying them, its good to know csi stuff make real plants for me. might still try something it all looks cool.

Cool, man, when I worked at Compassionate Caregivers between 2002-2005, in the clone room of the 3rd floor, the growers of GDP, Urkle, and Grape ape… among others like Strawberry cough… brought us their cuts to preserve for the community. As these were the only people who had the cuts at the time, and were the ones supplying Norcal and the SF bay area with these strains, I have a tendency to believe their provenances. It might be that we are discussing separate cultivars? Or, maybe we have different descriptions or recollections of the perceptions of our senses? E.g.: One person says they smell skunk but another person says it smells like custard and bergamot… tastes and perceptions are subjective.
The GDP I want and recall tasted like a million Skunks squirted eau-de-skunk in your mouth with a hint of grapiness in the background. It wasnt Ken’s cut, it was an as of yet still unrecovered cut.
The Erkle I remember grew slower than a sloth and tasted like grape syrup with a funky background of skunkiness that wasn’t overwhelming like the GDP.
The Grape Ape I had access to smelled and tasted just like grape candy, no skunk whatsoever, but, people complained it wasn’t so stoney.

Who knows? But, people growing out the couple different contested cuts of Erkle that are available are saying it tastes like grape syrup

that all sounds really spot on to me.

something im pretty sure i know about GDP is there was 4 different phenos from the hybrid. a lot of the times we only saw 1 or 2 phenos. theres a lot of good purp probably out there still. another one id like to have or blaze again is the purple afghan.

people out there have just moved on, im from that area so i think i would know if its still out there or not, but there probably is a circle or club or group of people who still got it. ive been asking a few of my friends to try to find me stuff but ppl just got that kens cut stuff lol. candyland was really good too

maybe ill go with the mendo purps from csi, bc thats another strain i definitely liked alot. really good effects. but like a light lavendery flavor , never dark or grapey. i liked the grapes the most. wish i could go back in time to blaze them all again. so good. growing good colorful purple stuff is artistic as hell too it doesnt always come out the same but some people are really good at it.
