Good news everybody! MORE Act. Will it pass in the Senate?

It’ll NEVER even make it to the Senate Floor!!! Too many politicians have literally made a career of demonizing the “Devil Weed”. To change “on a dime” would be the height of hypocrisy, even though “WE” know it’s the right move. In the States where it’s legal, do your thing. In ALL others, be wise and careful. Regardless, do take care, stay EXTRA/SUPER safe and, indeed, be well…mister :honeybee:

Like the Sublime song goes, “As long as I’m alive I’m going live illegal”.
Hurry up and free the plant. :grinning:

They didn’t vote to legalize it, they voted to decriminalize it.

Damn I apologize. I hope I didn’t cause a ruckus.

Just another step for them to start importing weed from China and Mexico. Mexico is already talking about being a mass producer (don’t think like the ole days).

I didn’t think of that, good points!

Nebraska and Kansas will probably be last two states to allow it.
Although farmers would love it.

Yea legalization at fed level might still be a ways off. So don’t expect to see any stores popping up if this bill ever gets legs through the senate. But at least you won’t be able to get pegged with a felony for having a gram in your pocket in the wrong place. So that’d still be amazing.

Holy shit!!! Where is a gram of weed a felony? Thats insanity.

LOL well probably not anywhere really, but possibly in SD until just recently. ANY amount of concentrate was a felony. Hash is a concentrate, and the line between flower and concentrate is determined by lawyers in court.

Yea. Im not sure of the laws here in ohio at this moment. But, a gram of concentrate is probably still a felony here too. That one slipped my mind. Anything over a 100 grams of flower is a low level felony unless its changed. I dont even keep up the laws anymore. I lost hope a long time ago. Its pretty shitty when your county votes for decriminalization and the chief of police in your city announces that they will prosecute using state laws instead of listening to what their citizens voted for.

All the feds have to do on their level is reschedule it and remove it from the controlled substance list, decriminalize it and leaving it up to the states. If they want a cut, treat it no different than alcohol going between states. No idea wtf my state was thinking when they wanted the department that runs casinos and lotteries to take jurisdiction, when it runs hand in hand with the regulations for alcohol. Even if it’s a competition for the alcohol industry, the tax and regulation would still be the same platform.
If it goes forward, jurisdiction should go to the same rout, like the ATF should become ATM and give the firearms its own division. Firearms don’t seem to fit with alcohol and tobacco as the other two are consumables :joy:

I think you have that backwards.

I mean, you don’t know my neighbors… sounds like you know my dispensary though. I was speaking in an ideal sense to the second part, lol.

I was living in North Carolina in the late 90s and a seed was a felony. A pipe or a roach was a felony. Louisiana was a felony for any amount very recently. I don’t know if that’s the case now. This Ridiculousness of sending people jail over weed has gone on decades longer than I thought it would. Back in 1996, with the passing of proposition 215, I thought victory was at hand. Here we are a quarter century later. Still locking people up, or emptying their bank accounts for lawyers fees or fines, or lost jobs and careers. Sad.

I have been a ganja growing outlaw for more than 50 years. I am resigned to the strong probability that I will never grow ganja without potential criminal charges filed against me if I am ever caught for simply supplying myself with fragrant flowers that I grow for my consumption only.

Sad but true.

I have abandoned all hope of ever being able to grow without the creepy sense of paranoia which coincides with me simply pursuing my favorite hobby.
I moved to South Florida 40 years ago in order to be able to grow outdoors all year long. I reckon that I have about 10 years more left to grow and enjoy my harvests. I would be happy to forgo the sense of foreboding which accompanies each one of my crop starts. But I just do not have any confidence that it will happen in my remaining years. I just want to be left alone to do what I do…the land of the free and all that jive.
Overgrow baby! Regardless.

This is the email from Normal .on the 4th . This is HUGE!

Moments ago, members of the House of Representatives voted to approve the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act, HR 3884, which removes marijuana from the federal Controlled Substances Act – thereby eliminating the existing conflict between state and federal marijuana laws and providing states with the authority to establish their own cannabis laws free from undue federal interference.

This is an historic day for marijuana policy in the United States. This vote marks the first time in 50 years that a chamber of Congress has ever revisited the classification of cannabis as a federally controlled and prohibited substance, and it marks the first time in 24 years – when California became the first state defy the federal government on the issue of marijuana prohibition – that Congress has sought to close the widening chasm between state and federal marijuana policies.

That day cannot come soon enough. Once toxicity and greed is mostly out of the cannabis community, the things that could be accomplished with this plant, from both a breeding and preservation perspective are endless. I think most of the ‘scene’ will be wiped out once that happens. Then, the cottage industry can return.

Don’t expect the government to do the right thing. Either way it goes, leave it to the government to fuk it all up. It never fails.
I said all of this to say, stock up on landrace, heirloom, pure indica, and pure sativa seeds. Do this before they do something or anything. If done properly WE can save this wonderful plant. Left in the government’s hands, we’ll get stuck with sterile beans and bland flowers to medicate on.
As long as you aren’t using your whole house to grow in, I highly doubt that they’ll be interested in your little garden…
