Good news everybody! MORE Act. Will it pass in the Senate?

Well folks, the senate confirmed Biden’s election to President and Warnock and Ossoff gave the democrats a senate majority, so, it seem’s like we have won! Ha, marijuana is going to be legalized! Best get our business plans in order . I bet we’ll be smoking legal weed by the 4th of july…big travel plans to make. Umm, red rocks?, Beer, live bands AND legal weed! Rock on!

Good bumping to you. No comments at all folks?

Honestly, right now, the status of our country is in such an upheaval I’m not even sure where to start…

Suffice to say that the actions that happened yesterday in the capitol were shocking, heartbreaking, and just discouraging.

The legalization of mj is great, but for me, there are so many other things that are paramount at the moment. But you’re right, with the dems win, it’s almost certain to pass. I’m excited for it, but at the end of the day, what was the cost that we all just paid to get it?

All politics aside, I truly am worried for the world that my 10 yo is going to inherit when he gets older.

There seems to be no more logic, rhyme or reason to life, and all (well not all, but a large portion) morality seems to be going the way of the dodo…ie…extinct. What used to be good, is now bad. What’s bad is now the status quo. Not even a shock anymore, it’s just news on a Tuesday.

People are celebrating Satan, pedophilia, abuse on all levels, and fraud. Yep, there I said it, fraud.

Yesterday, when our own people (and by Own People, I mean Americans in General, I’m a Trump supporter fyi, but, that’s my choice to be part of that group) breached the White House, I was appalled. Even as a pretty conservative person, I would never condone the violence, let alone the outright destruction (just like with the riots, I didn’t condone that either). These folks don’t realize what they really did. They did the exact same thing the other folks did (the violence that gets us nowhere) and we’re back to the beginning.

Everyone is sad, we’re all trying to deal with Covid, social unrest, and just getting thru the day…

That’s my .02 cents

I’d say peace, but no one really seems to give a shit anymore.

Just a sad, sad day for the USA.

I’m afraid that marijuana legality is just pissing in the wind. Even so if it does become legal we will wish that it was a thing in the past with Biden for president.
Everything that Trump said is happening. Our country is at its downfall. If that was a black woman who got shot yesterday well…
You noticed everyone was white.
We are fighting for our true right in our place in this country right now… I to am tired of rich far sided lefties and righties who have more power then me telling me what to do…
Just remember A HOUSE DIVIDED FALLS!!

This is an unfortunate truth. A lot of people have stopped seeking the truth, looking for a perceived easier path.

I really feel that your sentiments and observations of the “disturbed” world arise from the media. They print false stories (covid, death of kose bryant) are simply after sensationalism and thrive on theft of intelectual property. Everything on tv is private property so everything you see, someone else intented you to. I mean what kind of dumbass forgets the death of kobe bryant and covid and then gets “infected” when the media reports it real again.
Legal MJ is the start of the upward movement of society. No more hiding in shadow to smoke your legally grown “hemp byproduct”.
Let’s reeducate america again, it seems the problems are nothing more than what a couple good 'ol boys could handle.

I really think the best path after the passage of the more act is to institute a trading floor for the actual thc products and mj flowers. Eventually this could become a public corporation with employees or an open trading market. Both would fall under SEC jurisdiction and (presumably) would negate any government regulation as it would be controlled under a free market by stock/commodities regulated by standard SEC rules.

With our change of president, Biden will be appointing a new SEC chairman. This person should be ready to implement a free market for marijuana and thc products.

Hopefully we can get some movement soon in Senate.
So tired of the rhetoric . Up to 80 percent of Americans support some form of use. We need to get Texas, Kansas and Nebraska laws changed for at a minimum medical use.

MORE Act = Marihuana Tax Act of 2020. We need to deschedule but I hope not in the form of the MORE Act which adds federal control and bureaucracy and a 5% federal tax which is totally unacceptable. It’s just another way of restoring Prohibition - black market will get a boost & the raids and arrests will continue

Here is Massachusetts, weed from the corporate monopoly dealers is already $400 per ounce for hydro mids, that will go to $420 with the MORE Act and black market weed mids are currently $100-200 per ounce.

The senate can change the bill before it is ratified.

They’ll just force everyone to go off grid and back to the good oledays (insert millions of eye rolls here).

I see a huge surge in the “war on drugs” ie, let’s all be dicks(govt) and ride in on the white horse to save us (america) from ourselves…or, it could be they just want us drunk, stoned, fat and easily manipulated.

I liteera.ly had to lol this morning when I looked at my hubby, and I was like you know what, this is just like the titanic…the musicians will play on while the ship, usa) sinks.

Don’t let my candid fool you, we are in perilous times my friends.

Stay safe :v::peace_symbol::call_me_hand::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::heart:

You are misunderstanding the function of the SEC and a market economy. Plus, no offense to anyone, HEMP has always been legal. Ever heard the saying “getting high off your own supply”? Why do you think you grew up smoking weed that was mostly seeds? :face_with_monocle:

Let’s hope so! the MJ Justice Act sponsored by Cory Booker & Kirsten Gillibrand in the Senate was much better than MORE, hopefully these issues are still in play and MORE will be improved or combined w/ something else

just a repost…

Also it (formal legalization), is a work in progress. For instance; in 2 months MJ is legalized, citizens are guaranteed the right to grow 400 sqft of flower, and states are directed to have designated areas of distribution (the the old shopping mall). However in 2 years a formal MJ commodities market is established and a formal breeding program is set up much like big agriculture.

This is a list of the more act cosponsors…there seem to be quite a few. Anyway, these are the people to contact about the bill.

Oh and I would like to point something out about Mitch Mcconnell and the farm bill of 2018. Senator Mcconnell was a proponent of this bill which allows for major hemp production (cbd right?). There is one problem though… Hemp is grown and used for its seed and fiber products, what then happens to the industrial byproduct thc? Well, since there are med/recreational laws in over 30 states, the corporations with the thc byproduct can just sell it there. This doesn’t protect or insure or better the life of the citizen consumer. It only makes it easier for big corps to monopolize the market.

Which is illegal.

@Joshj It only makes it easier for big corps to monopolize the market.

that is what Legalization gets you :frowning:

decriminalization would have worked for us

sadly it has never been about us

I’m just talking about the farm bill from 2018 which republican majority lead Mcconnell sponsored… Pointing out the obvious and why the more act is even more important today.

A free market economy, commodity market, ensures that corps can’t take from the home marijuana farmer.
