Grape Punch from the man, the legend, BOG ver.2

The little peat puck. Jiffy I think was the brand.

Ah, ok. The ones I am using are not peat, they are coco. I didn’t want peat as it is kind of harmful to the environment to remove peat bogs.

Well there is another reason for not using them, then. I was saying that the nut cover should dissolve after being in soil. They don’t. Now the roots do grow through, but the net part stays the net part.

Hey there cuz, I’m curious about those bags now. They’re the non-woven, right? What size is that?

I always cut the nets away when repotting. Well I attempt to. I do remove as much as I can. Can’t wait for this stock of jiffy pucks to go away.

Yeah. I pretty much despise them. I took the rest of mine and removed the net put in compost bin.

Hey bud, so yes they are non-woven. There were 2 sizes in there, I will post the link to the ones I bought. It says they are made from some kind of pulp product. They say they biodegrade and I am sure they will, perhaps not as fast as people would like, but I assume eventually they would break down in soil. Roots don’t seem to have any problem breaking through them so that is a good thing. I will probably cut some slits in them when I pop them into pots to give roots places to come out with no restriction.

I guess the most interesting part is looking at the plants. I put 3 seeds in cups and 2 in bags, the ones in bags are the biggest of the lot. Also bigger than the 5 Sour Bubble which all went in cups. Seems to me there is an advantage to using them, at least at this stage of growth since the only 2 put in bags are twice the size as the rest. Now what will that do as they get older, I cannot say. Time will tell that story.

I don’t know how to define bud porn, but I know it when I see it… and this might be too much for the babies to handle. :open_mouth: You’ve got them growing up in a nursery with pictures of their parents’ exposed sexual organs hanging on the wall! I fear for the young, innocent minds, I really do…
