Huge cache of seeds left behind, what to do?

Oh yeah, not poo-pooing the prexisting geopolitical influences at play behind the whole Prince of Pot travesty. But regardless, the US literally just does anything it wants to anyone.

As for this whole huge cache of seeds, only two things really stand out to me: the collection seems real and the story around it is wild. I’m an inherently trusting guy (it’s burned me so many times), so what I say is: just go for it. Mia’s priority seems to be cash for living expenses and she has an overwhelming amount of seeds. Chipping away at the collection with steady cash sales can make getting by a lot easier, and the collection is so large that it’ll likely be supplemental income for awhile, maybe more than a year depending on how aggressively people buy/she sells.

Personally, I may be in disbelief that such a large collection is owned by someone who’s as uninformed and indifferent of it as this, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t true. It’s just crazy. And crazy shit happens all the time.

And no offense, Mia. But some of the guys here are breeders with so much knowledge and passion that they’d probably go down fighting trying to protect that collection if it were theirs. Like, if my personal collection was that large, I’d run back into a burning building without hesitating to try to save it. If you want to just get all this skepticism out of the way, just take a picture of yourself with the seeds and a timestamp.

But I definitely don’t think this is anything to do with law enforcement. Putting together a real–or even fake–seed collection of that caliber is beyond government employee effort levels.

After all the opinions and everyone´s take on this, i am starting to feel bad. We are just so happy to have our home back, that i think we are being overly cautious, and with good reason. I apologize in advanced, i wasn’t trying to diminish anyone or anything like that at all… Sorry @mia, may your efforts be well rewarded. And to all the community, maybe in the future we’ll be laughing about this, and everyone happy. Like i said before, i pray and hope we are all wrong.

Don’t be so quick with that statement! Think of all the illegal grows that get taken down in a sting by law enforcement officers accumulating seeds overa year or less would be pretty easy IMHO to get original packs and or make up names and put fake names on packs would be pretty easy! Just throwing it out there!

Knowing you like i do, i want you please, to express yourself openly once you have made an opinion. Thanks man!

I’m feeling pretty deflated from recent posts. Just want to mention one more thing… trying to verify some of my story… I mentioned my husband’s profile handle on his forums… Temujin ( Genghis Khan ) … hubby’s Korean. He spent tons of time researching, chatting and purchasing genetics. LED_Seeds responded saying he knew of Temujin on forums and that Temujin was fairly known. At this time in my life I can barely orchestrate an oil change for my car, let alone some grand scheme with beans. Thanks

Wow… This thread got massive over the day…

I think it has got too emotional… On one side there is no need to call this sting operation, cause this is clearly too paranoid vision. Nowadays many states have just legalized and I doubt that seed sale (in this case wholesale) means any significant issue for drug enforcement…

On the other side clearly everyone should proceed with caution. Mia, you have stated that in ideal case you would like to sell the collection as a whole to one or two persons. That is of course the most risky way for buyers and I doubt that anyone would be willing to go through this unless you would send first or use an escrow or deal in person.

You have also expressed will to discontinue this topic and manage everything through PM. That won’t work either… Someone may agree on some “starter” deal risking only few bucks, but for bigger sale the potential buyer needs to see good references from other members - satisfied buyers. You have started this topic, put the bar pretty high and now it is full of expectations, so there is no way to avoid any community review. You can check other threads… there were public “box” openings and so on… that is the way community references work.

This is a way to do it properly. Build a trust slowly through fulfilling smaller agreements. Only public backing by other established members can help you to sell whole collection.

Good luck!

Don’t let it get to ya. You are offering something to a bunch of stoners! We were paranoid before you ever showed up. :joy:

Apologies @mia! Even tho that seems to be the case! We were all paranoid since overgrow 1.0, you got nothing to do with that. Collateral damage i believe it’s called.

I believe i speak for everyone at overgrow when i say there is nothing we would like more than to have you here with us for good. Be a part of us, become an overgrower, like i said, we’ll be laughing about this one day!

I feel it’s a double edged sword. I don’t want anyone in the community to be taken advantage of again, and @mia could be taken advantage of too. There are lots of knowledgeable cannabis enthusiasts here, and she is not and doesn’t know what she has. If she does do a first free package for reputation purposes, I think she should consult with someone about the beans she sends and not give someone the choice pick. Also law enforcement obviously don’t care about the seeds, they care about the addresses the seeds are going too in non medical/recreational states. I agree this just gives me a bad feeling. Things like this make the bottom feeders and leeches come out in full force. If you don’t believe that, I got some Landrace Thai seeds I’m trying to trade?

Nobody can guess the price no matter how much experience they have.

It has been already said that proper way to get fair price is to organize auction in the forum.

Your statement is so elegantly put.

II think we can both agree there are ways she could be taken advantage of as well, which is what I was implying. She could get totally turned off by this mess of a thread and decide to go another route. And I’m sorry but I disagree, I think someone with enough knowledge of genetics in the past 10-15 years could easily appraise those seeds. And I think she should seek out such a person for guidance, if anything were to go down in pm’s. Just trying to look out for everyone I guess. I feel like I’m done with this thread. Drop the mic… :microphone:

Look @mia , maybe I was a little confrontational. Please believe I hope I’m wrong. I’m not a risk taker, and yes some paranoia plays into that. But I’ve never been busted nor the people I train to grow. I just gotta go with my instinct.

Sorry for my last post cutting you down, it was wrong. I hope the best for you and your family and good luck with your seeds.
