Absolutely!
Nice plants @Kasper0909 and @deeez99 too. Some narrowleaf beauties. Long flowering Odisha can go 26 weeks. I think 16-20 Is much more common these days. If this line flowers longer than twenty weeks, that makes it extra special imo. Not many strains flower that long ( over 20 weeks)in India these days, as many growers have successfully shortened flowering times over the last 40 years. Some plants do, but not most of them.
I don’t think shiv and coco are related, just my feeling. Shiv is obviously a young fellow, with all that goes with that. Coco has been around a long time I think.
@Arbac I have some of the Brahma. I’ll inspect them and see how viable they look.
I’d agree. Coco is too. Going to college to get a Doctorate.
Originally I asked Coco if Shiv was legit, and he said he’d gotten seeds from him before and was solid. I think Shiv just oversold stock, can’t get more, and got himself in a hole.
This is all too bad. Shiv was super nice the couple times I chatted with him. But I never did receive the 4 varieties I ordered. Must’ve got stopped in customs. He said he’d send more, but never heard from him again.
He clearly has access to lots of strains people are interested in… if only it coulda been more reliable.
Anyway, I hope he’s doing ok, and I still wish him well.
Thats a real stud!
I’ll probably have Odisha pollen real soon. I can send you some of your interested.
That’s awesome and yes I am interested! I know I joke about the pain point of how long this one is going to go but I really have enjoyed it and would love to preserve as much as possible. I have two females to hit and can send some seeds back to you. Much appreciated on the offer and I’ll DM you details. Thank you!
wow @upstate that looks like some frosty deliciousness!
So frosty, Great job brotha!
It’s the same for me as well. But I have had seeds seized by customs multiple times and they always provide a letter of confiscation…
You got it.
Long flowering or no, those are some insanely beautiful plants. Well done brother.
No it didn’t. It wasn’t sent. He told you that to buy time. I can’t tell you how many times he told me he sent me my order and I knew damn well he didn’t. Every time he actually sent my order he gave me a picture of the package. I know without asking he didn’t give you a picture. I didn’t want to think he could really be like that. I saw it, yet denied what I saw. Truth with me goes a long way. I don’t stand for any lying. If he had only told me he didn’t have the seeds, or had over sold his current stock, I’d have been fine with that. Seed source oversold their black tiger stock I ordered and paid for, for a group purchase. What did I do when they told me they had screwed up? I switched my original order and ordered a second pack of seeds from them, because they were honest about it.
Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.
Just as Upstate Shiv says, he said he packed them but he didn’t, when he actually sent them he would send you a photo and in the following days the status of the shipment at the shipping company. He told me several times that he had sent it to me. until the day he actually sent it to me, he made the shipment and a photo and told me “I assure you that without fail they will arrive in a month.” As Upstate says, Shiv was just buying time while the seeds arrived to him.
Perhaps that part of the trade chain is the one that failed him the most and he could not continue setting up his business. Several photos show clusters of seeds, with many immature green seeds. Maybe it’s these kinds of things that were affecting his business.
whatever the end of this will be
I am sure that an Indian guy will always appear and offer us rare seeds.
We just have to be more cautious next time.
and be careful with abusive prices.
Just a few words to tell you to be careful of landrace collectors on social media, sometimes they are honest people, who love plants and want to take the opportunity to earn a few more dollars, but unfortunately often they are people who have understood that they can make a lot money easily…
Couldn’t we crowd source a trip to india.
This is where Bodhi went in 2013 and they’ve been doing it every 12 years for 5 millennia.
2025 is the next one.
This is all the stuff Bodhi got when he went.
If not that, then we could find someone already there and finance their endeavors to find only the best head stash around India. It is a big place.
He did say that they dont grow here well and even if they do, it may not be the same as when smoked in place of origin. People in past decades did not give a fuck and worked these things down to stuff that’s manageable. That means so can we.
a trip to India would be surreal
I personally am not very interested in most Nepalese varieties.
They are for making hashish and trying to find a keeper to smoke it seems like an impossible task.
But going to India and visiting the towns, perhaps we will find very interesting things.
@HeadyBearAdventures thank you my friend! Or perhaps it’s more appropriate to say Dhanyavaad!
Here’s a Kullu Valley from Khalifa Genetics that I kept in a small 3.5 gal container that started flowering a couple weeks ago. It’s advertised to flower 16-20 weeks. Thankfully this will be able to fit in the greenhouse come November.
