Looking for chocolate thai

In LA area in the 70’s I had some chocolate thai looking plant and it was great Sativa. At the time I knew very little about growing weed, but others thought I did. I probably planted a Thai seed and didn’t think about it, Thai Sticks flowed through my stash jar. I actually didn’t know genetics was a big deal. I knew nothing! And one of my smoking buddies always said it was all about the seed and he never grew a plant.

I grew a Chocolate Thai wild chuck from World of Seeds. This bastardized pheno finished in 12-14 weeks. It had and still has after my breeding work a minty frankincense. I’ve grown a handful of these chocolate thai looking phenos and it’s a long wait. Now my modified Thai is an 8.5 week finisher.

More info on this modified thai? I grew Drawohs and it was 16+ weeks.

I bred within the Wild Thailand strain by selection. I selected the wider leaves and got extremely lucky. It grows like a hybrid with Thai Terps and THCV.

Drawohs Chocolate Thai History:
i researched it, but my Memory is foggy on this one,
It was something like a Chocolate Thai Line, that was almost lost. But one Female Part was alive , and i think somebody else had the Same Line but very inbreed, or another Cocolate Thai Line with Males, so they used this to provide a Male. Or was the lineage slightly unknown on the secound Line? I cant remeber, but am pretty shure its all Chocolate Thai genetics from the 80s inside. No outcrossing.
THIS ISNOT A CLAIM. Memory just foggy…
The most indepth discussion i ever found about was on an old Snowhighs-Instagram post, where the people fought about who knows it most in depth.

I believe you Tom, you know your line better than me hhahaha. I just stated that I didnt get it, or got it but it was kind of recessive plant, with small trichs. be sure, I cured it all properly. but glad to know it is there.

nevertheless I got chocolate pheno in outcrosses of your haze, so I am happy anyway.

how do you rate this chocolate pheno compared to citric metallic one? it is more dreamy? was the effect of authentic chocolate thai dreamy?

The oldest forum reference I could find is this one. The OP in this 2005 thread is Drawoh, it’s a little hard to follow since ICMag has a bunch of people as just “Guest”:

This is also him:

The chocolate Thai is the same exact phenotype we call the lime green Thai, the Aussies call it mango heads. That profile oxidizes and reveals chocolate Thai later in cure. That chocolate flavor is never there when fresh, the rotten mango - I call it Thai citrus, needs to oxidized first then the chocolate reveals. That is the reality of chocolate Thai.

Snowhigh goes on at length in The Potcast #74 … says it looks distinct from other Thai varietys, etc.

@TomHill (re: your love for hermies) :joy: some of us can’t endure a seeded out crop in our silly little gardens, but thanks for taking one for the team!

Your talk with HeavyDayze was fun to hear too!

Chocolate is basically golden Thai, looser packed than Mexican Colombian etc, in the shape of a cow patty. Come in after sticks mostly disappeared, from about '75-'86. Really good. Shit would have you pacing back n forth looking for the keys that been in your hand the whole time.

Re hermies I been spanked by them literally like once or twice in 40 years. They are simply not the problem folk make them out to be. Show me a guy who talk a big issue with them, and I’ll show you a line like sk1 where it can be a real problem :joy:

 Agreed - but I did pick up a bag once from an underground dispensary in Marin…came home & micro mini preemie herms throughout. :-1: So I brought it back :joy_cat: & the dude happily replaced it & apologized for his employee selling schwag. :man_shrugging:

So there’s a spectrum of ‘hermies’ IMO; the nice few seeds from a long run of some good weed, the not so nice, neighbor with a big male seeds out your prized plant(not a herm) but a hassle for non-seed makers/beginners…then the shit genetics abused by idiots kind, where it’s straight to the washer/oil-can…

Maybe I’m beleaguring the wrong point by being high 98% of the time  & being typically sophomoric trying to impress & the big dogs

:evergreen_tree:

Reality is all elite lines from Thai to og Kush owe their homozygosity to autosomal modifying factors effecting sexual expression. I kinda get uppity when folk poddymouth em :joy:

Just to throw in another option for those looking, I’ve got Chocolate Thai from Exotic Alchemy who told me it came from Brazilian Seed Co stock…im not sure the origins aside from that. I couldn’t find anything other than choco chiba from them and I believe that’s a Columbian

yeah, yet again.
i think t h. implies an insult. wether or not that violation of rule, cause its just implied plus it alludes to the previous insult , thats not for me to decide

im also not perfect in english,

I do not imply insult. I imply truth. Is the truth an insult to you? These fucking clowns talking about chocko never even smoked it or they would be agreeing with me.
