My first ever indoor grow

Todays photo update. The mk ultra got a major defoliation and some lst of the branches done last night to let all the smaller branches get light. Man there was a lot of fan leaves blocking the inside of the plant.

The dragons blood is finally getting enough light I had to use bricks to raise the canopy to the height of the mk so far both are on schedule for the end of month flip.
Now on to the clones I had tried to start none of them made it. They all rotted off at ground level. I don’t know I need to figure out how to get the clones I take to root and thrive. So far I’m not having any luck even with using hormones like the last 4 had. I’m going to have to figure out how to get them to clone. I don’t want to have to start from seed every time if I can help it… Time to read up on and try other cloning methods I guess.

First two photos are the mk ultra. Everything is still going well just about 2 weeks left till flip to 12/12

Here is the dragons blood it’s chugging along just fine also. Going to flip them at the same time.
Hopefully my next batch of clones I plan on taking take off so I can have them to start the next round. If not when I do the flip I have some marauder f3’s from @Burnso I’m gonna pop also have a few others but I don’t remember the strain names on them. I do know next round I’m going to try and have 3 or 4 smaller plants if possible.
Thanks for looking into my lil corner of paradise

Okay no photos today but a question.
How many clones is feasible to take at once?
I’ve gotta get some to survive plus there are to many small ones to feasibly keep through flower.
The mk ultra I trained as if I was growing outdoor and didn’t realize how much of a difference that using nutes and a light is compared to good ol mother Earth and sol.
Training for outside was a mistake for my size closet. Now the lst with the dragons blood clone is working out awesome for my space and I see myself using it again in the next round unless I get enough clones to sog my space… Hmm so many possibilities and only 2 to 3 max weeks to decide how next run is going to go.
Oh on a side note one of the auto beans I direct sowed showed itself after I gave it such a massive dose of Litfa the dirt was bone dry. I forgot about it but it’s 2 inches or so tall and standing proud. I had gave up on it when the other 2 burnt up. Didn’t think it was gonna do anything. The others I had tried to germ didn’t pop at all. So went on to training my dragons blood and being amazed by the mk.

As a general rule, you can take up o 1/3 of the mother’s plant mass at a time. So bigger moms make for more clones.

Well I lied lol here is todays pics Mk up first then the dragons blood.

The MK you speak of…MKUltra…is that what it is???

Never grown her, but have heard from MANY it is super Bud!!!

Yessum sure is. I won 5 fem from t.h.seeds in a vault giveaway a few months back. Popped 3 of 5 all sprouted. Then a mishap with the wife not watering them one made it to what you see now and the last 2 beans are in cold storage for a rainy day. The smell over the vegging plant changes every day almost. Yesterday was a kushy smell now today it is slightly piney smelling

She didn’t seem to amount to much at first but in the last few weeks she has become a monster. Branches having branches and only one successful clone so far which was gifted to that friend who turned me on to Overgrow and got me growing after a long hiatus of not growing anything but plants for the yard.

I’d like to say the gracious gift of life that is MK Ultra has rooted and been put in a bigger home for the gifted. Thanks again @joecool

Today is just a musing day.
Tomorrow is for sure the mk ultra final clone try morning. Gotta see if I can get a couple more to take root. Scouted today and chose the ones I want to take and a few smaller branches that will just need to go because they are to small and weak for anything else all in all I plan on taking 10 clones and 5 or 6 wispy super struggling branches. Got my solo cups all primed with gravity packed pre primed coco perlite mix i had left and enough water to show me my drain holes are sufficient and to ready the coco for tomorrow’s cloning project.
I’m hopeful and worried also. I gotta get this cloning down… Burnso’s survived but the other 5 I had took all rotted at the ground level. I did use soil instead of coco on them so idk. Going all coco on this round and am looking to keep the soil for outside where it truly belongs from now on.
Today I’m trying to figure out how big to make a mother chamber. I don’t plan on keeping more than 2 at a time. I don’t think the space I put in the closet will be quite big enough untill I learn to bonsai. So a easily built box out of some extra 1"×6" and mildew resident drywall i have will do for the box itself.
I’m thinking something like 2’×2’×36" would suit my needs. And to go easy will use some screw in led’s for the light or some tube fluorescents (I can find the fixtures for cheap all over used right now.)
I’ve got most of my fittings for a drain to waste feeding system. Just have to get a bulkhead fitting for my tote I’m using for the water tank. Going to use 3/8 inch cpvc for the fees line off the tank and then threaded t fittings that will feed the feed lines and drippers. Just gravity fed for now but will have room to expand to a pump system if ever needed. Also toying with an automatic central electrical control panel idea too, more on that idea when i get past the initial design stage and get a plan I like drafted out.
Sorry not sorry for so long of a post today, just wanted to put my ideas down. The nerve damaged hands makes penmanship hard not that my southpaw penmanship was quite legible anyway.
As always thanks in advance for any comments or knowledge you so choose to pass on. Have a good growing day.

As promised this morning has been clone taking day for the mk ultra, took 13 total from the undergrowth. Have 10 in their solo cups to hopefully root. The others are just in cups of water at the moment waiting for a couple of friends to wake up to see if they would be interested in them. If nothing else and they root too they will be for outside this year.
Cleaned out all the small stuff on the dragons blood and now it’s only nice sturdy branches for the flop. And the auto is doing it’s thing. Honestly I’m not expecting much from it being as it was neglected for so long before it even showed itself it’s in dirt so I’ve just been watering with plain water right now. (Not sure when to start it on nutes) all in all all the reading on here I’ve done and some things I already knew have helped immensely and to the Overgrow fam that stops by my little corner thanks so much for all the great information you guys provide.
Now on to the photo update part.

Hello again time for today’s photos. First up is the little auto that could. I’m just so surprised it even grew let alone seems to be thriving. It’s now under the blurple light and got this first dose of nutes today. Being as it’s in soil I started it with 2.5 grams of maxi grow per gallon of water which is what also I watered the clones in the coco today with.

Next up is the dragons blood it’s really been coming into it’s own the last week or so, I kinda wish I had more room to veg it longer and scrog it. It has great potential for that grow method. I had to tie some of the taller branches not down per say but tied em over just a bit to let the smaller ones get better light.
And last but not least the Mk-Ultra aka the monster as the wife dubbed her. She is still going strong and ready for the flip her clones are looking good so far as long as they keep looking like they do I should have more than I need and have a couple for outdoors come spring. Decided against hydro next round but definitely going to get my drip irrigation system set up as it’s getting hard to hand water the mk ultra without having to move the dragons blood everytime I need to water.

Hello again. Time for today’s photos. First up is the clone shelf. Only lost 2 of 10 so far and the others seem to be still doing ok so its looking like I’ve got some mk ultra for next round.

Next up is the dragons blood it’s simply looking lovely. I’m really liking how well it took to lst.
The Mk-Ultra is still a beast. Took some of the big fan leaves off tonight during daily maintenance they were blocking to much light to the lower branches. It probably should of been flowering already but I had to let the dragons blood get to a decent size first so I can flower both at once.
Now an overhead shot just to show the 2 foot by 3 foot space the mk and dragons blood are in.
Last but not least the lil auto that could.

For those curious it’s in a half gallon pot in soil. Nutes being used are the same as the others gh maxi grow and when time comes maxi bloom. I am hoping that the auto will be female but only time will tell. I am curious about it being as it’s got a set clock as to grow time what if anything should I do to maximize it’s potential in the small pot it’s in. I’ve read enough here and elsewhere that says not to do to much to it without stalling it out or just making it fail completely. I know now that I should of used a larger pot to start it in but I was just learning about autos when I dropped the beans in the dirt so in the half gallon it will stay. It has nice tight internodes and 4 branches starting to come in so far.
Thanks for looking into my corner of the world and hope you all have a good day or night as the case may be.

Mr.Sparkle, Jellypowered, and I flower autos in much smaller pots than that. Just keep up with the watering and feeding. They should do fine.

I have a question tonight.
For those of you that have been following my first foray into indoor growing or anyone with an answer.
Mk-Ultra should I just take off what growth that won’t do much of anything? Because I’m thinking of using a screen with the dragons blood just because of all the branches pretty much being the same size for support of flower and it won’t be nothing to enlarge it to cover the Mk even with being different heights. Plan on using PVC that I have left over and can build a frame in no time flat.

Todays photo update. Last prune for the mk ultra and I flipped tops on the dragons blood to level the canopy and if need be I will use skewers to stand any up that needs it right now.
Mk-Ultra after last prune. Almost everything that straggled up after the last clone round is gone for the most part.

Dragons blood after the flopping and tying of tops.

Now on to the auto. I took the largest 4 shade leaves off and tucked a couple other big ones to let the branches underneath grow. Autos are rather impressive so far with my one plant experience just the super fast growth is amazing.
I hope what I did to it won’t hurt it any
Yesterday then today after taking and tucking the leaves.
I think I’m going to try and lst it similar to what I did with the dragons blood.
