The seeds I got from you are just starting to sprout

Quite impressed with the growth over the past 3 days I may need to flip to flower sooner than I thought lol. I think a mix of upping the feed and the roots really starting to bulk up has made the plants happy.

3.5 days later… This is day 32 of veg

screen is nearly full now but I have a decent amount of vertical room for them to grow when they swap to flower and stretch.

Soon ill be taking a clone or 2 from each plant. I think probably from the bottom of the plants? never cloned before so this will be fun lol. Goal is to just keep each clone alive until I can harvest these plants and figure out who is going to stay as the mother plant!

I’d take a number of clones, like 100% more than you need in case of… clone failures.

@Neb you really dove into this head first! Grow is looking great! Well done. Im excited to see this progress.

Ive been holding back from trimming away the lower 1/3 of growth on my plants till im ready to throw them in the cloner. I think i should produce a healthy number of clones when i do that.

Appreciate your kind words! Honestly it ended up being a hell of alot more work and money than I planned but im loving every second of it! I’d rather do things properly the 1st time compared to spending extra money upgrading in the future :sunglasses:

I agree. Buy nice, or buy twice! You’ve made the investment now time to enjoy the process and harvest the rewards.

Wonderful work @Neb ! Makes me really itch for sept when I fire up my RDWC for the winter run.

“…it ended up being a hell of alot more work and money than I planned but im loving every second of it!”

THIS is the MOST RDWC comment I’ve read in a long time! I keep spending money on the system… WILLINGLY… and not for repairs! I’m tossing in 3x 4ft under-canopy strip LED’s, and a Far Red bloom booster on top of other changes all resulting from the last cycle’s learning experience.

You prob already have this in the bag, but be wary of PM as you start getting into flower… I check for that shit like a starving Hawk and have gotten into the habit of spraying things down with a mix of food-grade mineral oil and water to keep it at bay with all the water in the system fuelling a potential problem*. (*at least in my 4x4 set-up).

You did the right thing. I just recently finished giving away most of my ‘starter’ gear, which all told was probably $250-300, because I was trying to save money and ended up needing to invest more money anyways. The Neb way seems like the smart way.

I am indeed watching for PM like a starving hawk lol! So far no issues but I’m doing my best to keep humidity and airflow in check. I have some stand alone dwc buckets setup for testing other strains because the only draw back ive found from RDWC is the difficulty in running many different strains in one system… The stand alone dwc buckets already feel like a huge pain in the ass compared to how easy the RDWC is with a control bucket.

lol I’m planning on picking up one those starter gear kits used off a buddy for next to nothing. 4x4 tent/100w led/6 inch fan filter for $150. I’m going to use it as a drying room and the led i can use for clones/mother plants.

Sounds like a good deal. Get an inkbird and a humidifier for drying (depending on where you are.)

Yep, that’s what us slow learners are here for. To give our friends free/cheap shit as a byproduct of our fuckups. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I was looking at those inkbirds actually seems like a good deal! I like to play with my gadgets though so I plan on setting up my own environment controller that I can use over 3 areas(Veg/Flower/Mother plants). I’ve setup Home Assistant on my computer in a VirtualBox, Thursday ill order some sensors and smart plugs.

This stuff and a computer seems to be all ill need to setup a solid controller. Around the same price as 3 inkbirds give or take

Yeah once I wanted more than 1 plant in DWC I couldn’t fathom the lugging of all those individual buckets… I use 2x TSL2000’s in my 4x4, so I have found the best success comes with picking 2 strains (a pair under each fixture) with the same flowering period and similar needs and it works out. I last grow was Gelato & Kosher Kush on 1 side as they get tall; and the other side was Pink Cookies and UK Cheese. If I had 4x TS1000s *or SF1000s I would go for 4 different strains as I can adjust for each.

@Foreigner 's right with looking into the Inkbird, I have both the thermometer and hygrometer inkbirds and my set-up configuration is a little different than most as I found in flower lights off was a PM breeder as the lights are no longer burning off that excess humidity coming up through the hydrotron… So when the temperature goes to lights of temp, lets say 20c, it turns on the “heat” plug which is connected to additional fans which increase the draw from the tent in hopes that the increased air exchange (i vent outdoors) will lower the humidity. It worked great but I still needed to leave the tent open lights on and close just before lights off.

Things that I wish I knew in advance: Lollipop your plants, focus on the top colas vs going for a fuck-tonne of buddlettes, defoliate but not too often.

I defoliated every week until flower and had so many nodes that I was blown away… and then it took 8 hours per plant in trim jail and while it smokes GREAT it’s all popcorn

*Edit: For my new 2x4 setup; I got a used Cloudline T6 which eliminates the need to get inkbird controllers.

hey, you got some questions about that organism, powdery mildew? Apparently I’m an expert! Only exposure to the replicating pathogen will cause an outbreak.
