New Jersey Poll Marijuana

Oh that hurts. Why were you cleaning up shop heading into spring if you don’t mind me asking? I’m just opening up shop.

I’m on the medical program anyway so if a cop showed up and smelled something I should be good anyway but now with decriminalization in effect the neighbors can call about the weed smell coming from your house all day and it doesn’t matter. Best time to grow in NJ that’s ever existed to date.

Can’t blame you there cause I think about doing the same thing sometimes. VA decriminalized awhile back and approved legalization that goes into effect in like 2024. I’m betting they didn’t have a bunch of crook politicians making sure home grow wasn’t included too.

Are you guys and gals from New Jersey you need to contact your assemblyman and your congressman as well as your state senator! Ask them how they plan on voting on home grow ! It’s crucial at this point that we do this to ensure the fact that homegrown is high on there list of priorities! Look at New York , New York immediately passed a bill that included Home Grow home for medical right now there are two senators and The assembly that are for it and are introducing a bill

Now is the time to get involved

Yup. Most of my reps probably have me blocked at this point from the years of messages about marijuana reform but I still try anyway!

There’s a little weed summit taking place on the 13th that will discuss Gopal’s bill but otherwise it’s up in the air as far as progress being made.

I was wondering if there was any changes since the topic of home grow was proposed to out state law makers ? I have not heard anything myself

No. There’s a bill to allow 6 per adult in a household capped at 12 total or 10 for medicinal patients. No idea when that will be voted on.

They did eliminate mandatory minimums though for all non violent drug crimes. So now instead of “sorry we have to give you x amount of years” it’s up to the discretion of the judge. It’s not safe to grow here yet, but it’s the closest we’ve ever been. For a medicinal small grower in a legal state, with a sympathetic jury from a population that legalized with 60%+ voters, it’s not super scary anymore.

It’s a great feeling. I cried. I did. Felt free. Yes for once. Felt :100: free of the chains of hate. Something as a simple drop of a seed. Sad. I’m 99% off medication. Weed to me is not medicine. It’s my food. One crop that can help the world. Cover crops. Hemp is the best. Lay it down. It will still grow.

I’ma be in wildwood most of this week, does anybody know where to get some good sativa around there. Do you need medical card to purchase from the stores?

Yeah no recreational sales yet unless you want black or gray market. For grey market there’s delivery “gifting services” where you order like snacks for a stupid price and then the weed is considering free. You’re looking at like $120 quarters at the cheapest though.

it was nice in California everyone had their own weed snack bag like popcorn and peanuts. It’s like Doritos totally legal. My brother grew 6 4 ft tall plants literally next to the street and nobody touched them. I was just visiting but it was so perfect for a smoker there that’s about it tho. Good Luck NJ and the rest of us.

NJ dangled that carrot, and yanked it back after the residents voted home grow in.

State of NJ deceived it’s voters to vote in rec, then amended the bill to corporate weed only. Typical NJ politics…

I’m a mile from NJ, just across the river. I’ll never spend a cent on NJ recreational weed.

Incorrect on many accounts…

I am looking into a NJ license… Yes, home grow is off the table, for now, though there are a number of senators and representatives recently in favor, so that may change.

The misconception that NJ is gonna be all corporate is so far off base… First, the state DOES drag its ass to do ANYTHING, so take that into consideration… Hell, they JUST approved two applications that are two years into the process in September, so realize its slower than molasses in the arctic here…

BUT. As a micro-business, looking for a micro-cultivator license (less than 2500 sq ft canopy), no more than 1000 plants, there’s LOTS favoring small guys. Social equity has given veterans, minorities and those with prior cannabis offenses priority in the application process. Sure, they are dragging their feet, and applications are LONG overdue (can’t even apply yet!), but according to the statutes, there’s no limit to micro cultivator license (large scale there’s limits), AND you can convert micro to larger scale if you grow larger than 2500 sq ft. In my town, they approved all 5 classes of licenses, much to my surprise, and put an income cap on applicants for micro businesses, i.e. if you made over $200k last year on taxes you arent eligible which should hopefully steer licenses into the hands of the small guys, not the millionaires…

If I get my license, I’ll be growing that NJ recreational weed, but not garbage… no I wanna do Craft Cannabis… So… uhm… Ya may wanna rethink that  Some good may come of this IF the state finally gets their ass in gear…

With all due respect @Nagel420

The voters voted in a bill that included home grow, for patients and others wanting to just run a few plants for personal consumption. They removed it after it was voted in…

State control and corporate weed will be the recreational weed for years, with a bone thrown to the mini cultivators licensed and paying taxes the state. I really dont believe those will be granted till well after the corporations have recouped investment and profited well.

Those grow your own voters got duped… in my opinion. They wont be able to legally grow a single plant for personal use. Whereas those who pay the state get to grow and price them back out of the market.

I’m sure I sound jaded, and I am. NJ stuck it to me in 90, felony for possession with intent to distribute… under 28g. They made an example of me because I wouldn’t talk, after an illegal search.

And dont get me started on the Burlington county law enforcement who target Pa drivers for revenue.

In short… Fuck NJ, they wont see a dime from me. But I wish you all the luck in the world… seriously.
