SSDD might go a day or 3 longer. They are bulking up and filling out. Super close to being done. Might check trichs later. Theyve only been getting water for the last week.

Oh and if anyone has any tips for getting clear focused pics with my phone lmk lol. I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra but getting decent pics has been a headache.

Are you using a tripod or just handheld? I think I read those high MP phone cameras take a while to process and benefit from using some kind of tripod, at least at really high resolutions. Any small movements during that stage would create blur. That 3rd Orange Verde shots look good to me, just has hard shadows from the lighting above it. Color and clarity look good on those though…

What kind of smells are you getting on the SSDD? That’s @HorseBadorites Horse cut right? Looks nice!

You can also get 1200x scopes on amazon for $100.00. You can get a very clear picture of what is going on. I’m a older man with bad eye site and cant use the loops or cameras. I need to see!

Just handheld. The big thing I see is that it tends to over focus on a certain area while leaving everything else around it kind of blurry. I’ve played with all kinds of settings but havent really found anything that helps. Small movements might be throwing the camera off though…

Yea that’s Horse’s cut. Smells kind of sweet and skunky I guess? Smell-wise, it reminds me a lot of the Burnout Chem I grew outdoor last year. The smell is kind of hard to pin down for me tbh

I do have a scope version as well that I haven’t used yet. Not sure if have a small table or stand or something I can put it on to bring in the room.

I just carrying mine back and forth from the grow house when checking things out. Mine is small and very portable., Scopes tell the whole story. You can also see mites, eggs etc before things get bad as well I have found.

Oh yea I used the handheld scope to take the trichome pics, not my phone. I have the handheld scope, and a microscope looking version with the height adjustable stand

Sounds sort of like aperture , depth of field , or artificial / computational photography. I know my pixel used to do a fake ai blur on images in portrait mode. If you can play around with aperture settings on your camera a tighter or higher # may help increase your depth of field. May have to adjust shutter speed / ISO to compensate for less light getting to the sensor with higher aperture.

Yeah that is like the one I have. Sorry a little blurry pic.

Mine saved a harvest in FEB before there were any signs of problems at 8 weeks. I hate these little boogers. To Davy’s Jones locker with them all!

Not great tho.

I’m so glad to hear you say that! I’ve had her for a while, and still can’t figure it out! I’ve got one going right now at 64 DFF. It’s got a heavy incensy, eye squinting thing going on. I’m not familiar with chemmy stuff, but maybe that’s what I think of as incense? Other times there’s a skunky sweetness thing, or a fresh baked yeasty bread with a bit of alcohol going on? I wish there was something like a sommelier’s kit of bottled smells for weed :yum:

I think it’s the Tres Dawg, which is basically Chemdawg backcrossed 3 times, coming through in the Appalachia side of things. I get why that smell is so heavy in the mix now, and also why it’s called Tres Dawg lol

A good friend of mine took that Ganjier course, and I know a few other people who have taken it as well. They said it def helped with being able to identify smells and stuff. I wish Bodhi would do something like that. I know he’s all about the smells.

I never bothered to think about it critically before, but this makes me think the Appalachia male is a natural heavy Chem leaner. And I wonder if the Appy F3 that just came out will be more like Green Crack due to H&L’s selection? I’ve heard the Green Crack effect isn’t a stable breeding trait, so crossing it with something that has been backcrossed 3 times would emphasize that even more… Wish I could find the legit Green Crack clone lol

What ever it is, I like it :yum:

This is exactly it. I’ve grown like 7 different appy crosses, F1s and f2s and that appy male comes through hard on all of them. Same buzz just different flavors.

If you listen to the breeders syndicate with h&l, It DOES lean to the chem side. That’s also where the creamy flavors are coming from in all it’s outcrosses. The chem side of the cross. H&L’s new F3s are reworked to the green crack side of things as that’s what he(and I) prefer. Which is why I think copa using a variegated(aka chem d leaner) f4 for his stuff is hot garbage.
