I was totally new to the growing community here at OG in December of 2021 and big shout to @PhilCuisine fot inviting me to check out the OG community. Unfortunately I’d been a member throughout the majority of my FIRST ever grow on another forum that I successfully harvested in late August. Despite dealing with more criticism for what I’ve been growing in, an old Phototron 3000sx that I got used for 100 bucks fully working! And since I’ve joined OG my growing experience/knowledge has dramatically changed! I’m looking forward to experiencing this new great atmosphere and growing has never been so much fun and I credit that to you all here …Obey the nature of things and you will walk freely and undisturbed.

awesome giveaway you’re doing here @HashstasH ! i love it. can you give us a quick summary of what you like about the power hitter?

i may have made an ill-advised purchase of an arizer extreme q just a few days ago (it was buy one get one free!!!), so i don’t think i need another smoking device, but others may be curious.

btw, the arizer purchase was really only ill-advised because i’m over-extended with my budget already, not because it’s not a great buy. but i saw the deal and i was like, how can i not buy this?

I was new in the early days and had no idea how to grow. I came here and was gifted some lowryder seeds and grew a auto with cfls. I was young and eager to learn. Now that the site is back I come here to converse and share alike with other growers. Also I find it a ton of fun to trade strains. The wealth of knowledge and community here at o.g. has truly shaped me into a better grower. Also, this is my only form of a internet forum or site that I am constantly using, and also I admit, am very addicted to. The people here that I have met have changed everything for me. Love you OG.

I have always liked and used faithfully my power hitters from way back i the 70’s my teen age years lol The 1st ever PH i bought was gold flake gliitered with a raised pot leaf in the middle right were the hole is.

I dig them for many reasons, 1st you have no smoke except your out hails , 2nd it self contains the joint, 3rdly I can sqeeze the bottle and adjust the strenth of the sqeeze to get the light or mega power hit, 4th no ashtrays lol

True story
I would come home at 16 and shut my bedroom door put my zepplin on my headphones take the bottle joint lite and cover myself in my sleeping bag and smoke never needing an ashtray and roach clips, when it was done I opened the sleeping bag removed the towel at the bottom of my door and my family never noticed a thing as the smoke was in my sleeping back and window open and I would get high like this for a few years lol

I came here after 10 plus years of being at opengrow . The site had started to fall apart and most of the regulars were planning to move on or been run off , it got eerie quiet and eventually closed.

Not sure how I’d found this place either some one messaged me or saw a post about it .I joined up and started to contact some of the regulars from opengrow to do the same .

I have met a lot of good people over the time I’ve been here and lost quite a few along the way with the old site closed and the last group that carried on .

That’s my story to win the 70’s power hitter it’s brought back some great memories using one till all hrs of the morning with a group of us partying.

I started getting really curious about older genetics and Chocolate Thai in particular. A google search brought up a community that valued the old genetics so much it was actively trying to preserve them (CT in this case)! I started reading to gain knowledge but pretty much immediately started having convos with some cool ass members too. Between the wealth of information, how welcoming this site is, and the general vibe of positivity (and lack of arguing for the most part) it was obvious I had found an awesome anomaly of a forum. Then as if that wasn’t more than cool enough you experience the insane generosity of OGers and have that pinch yourself moment. The best part is how infectious the positivity and generosity is because before long you want nothing more than to be able to spread some beans and love with the community.

I found OverGrow by accident looking for a certain strain, and a member/breeder here had some along with some other interesting looking strains that I purchased, which he then threw in the best bonus package ever with papers, dube tubes, mycorrhizae and more seeds. I then started looking into this site and finding more and more info on growing, and a very positive attitude that is few and far between on any internet forum. I’ve had many people reach out about any questions I’ve asked, and it’s all been helpful, constructive advice, with a little humor thrown in for good measure. Then there’s people throwing around seeds like confetti, and even though I’m not a breeder and paid for mine, I’ve caught that fever as well and find myself mailing away seeds, albeit with recycled seed “pods”. I even had a guy offer me clones when they were ready when I asked for a friend who suffers from anxiety about seeds that I could buy for him. This place is just full of kind, thoughtful, caring people who genuinely seem to care about each other, and this is yet another example of that.

But I guess I meant to say how did you acquire it? Are your Urkle seeds S1? Did you outcross the clone to something, then make selections?

I bought a few strains and never realized 2 of the so called fem seeds were males a strawberry glue and the PU that pollenated all my plants so these seeds are purple urke x purple ukle or Strawberry Glue 3+pack seed (Fem)

so the seed is PU x PU or PU x Strawberry Glue

I had been venturing out into the forum world for many many years but always, ALWAYS left wanting more and with no desire to go back. This went on for about 8-9 years, I always saw bullying, misinformation, people just looking for free stuff, or trolls ohhhh sooo many TROLLS! And then legalization came and I actually took a hiatus for a couple years, but realized I could not live without my passion, my love and a large portion of my life cannabis cultivation so I dove back in with a renewed vigor. Fast forward to last spring. I had been back in the game for several years and have a very small crew of very experienced growers I’ve been involved with for a very long time, but it began to disband as some quit growing, others went to the greenhouse cultivation for the government etc. It was basically my mentor, myself and one good , old friend. Just wasn’t the same and something was missing. I was scouring the forums and someone pointed me in the direction of OG I was like “oh its back, very cool ill check it out” and I promptly did. I was skeptical as always and watched for a week or so, after that I was still impressed and really began to deep dive OG, I then began hanging around almost daily and was constantly impressed and made to smile by the interactions I witnessed. So I added a grow log and some other content and was welcomed so warmly it furthered my love of this place, every single day since. (Appx a year now) that I’ve been here I’m amazed, humbled and driven to help, give, and just love others. I can’t be more serious in saying this place has changed me and my entire outlook on an industry that was in my mind crumbling. I’ve met so many amazing, kind, generous people it has even renewed my faith in humanity NO JOKE! Needless to say I absolutely love this place, what it stands for, what it instills and the vibe and person it has helped me to become. I am here for good and can never ever say enough how much I love this place and everyone who makes it so OG! Much love and respect to EVERYONE!
