Print It ALL! The 3D Print / Printer thread

Appreciate it, would dislike getting the wrong style/type. I probably would have otherwise tried counting the pins to narrow it down. pins on Amazon pins in my computer, that’s a lot of counting. lol

You have to love Amazon for speed and convenience. still surprises me sometimes.

I thought you needed laptop memory?

nope, PC. I tried typing P.C memory into Amazon search, kept getting adds for laptop memory, but the add also said PC for what ever reason, mad confused I then came here. i could have just counted the pins on my old memory and the ones on the screen, i know that now.

Set up my first laser last night, Scultpfun 9, with air assist. Holiday sale.
made a silicon mold of the MF DOOM CAT. Not sure if it will work, very fragile frame, removing casted resin from the mold i made may break it, not sure. the details in the laser piece broke when I separated it from the mold block, resin may not?

Would it be wise to make an enclosure for a 3d printer with a carbon filter and exhaust fan fitted if I want to use a printer in my bedroom?

Cheers.

You won’t regret using an enclosure, if for nothing else it helps keep a steady air temp around your print in cooler months.

Ventilation and a possible carbon filter would only be necessary for certain print materials, but if you spend a ton of time around prints I would recommend it.

Do you know what the dimesnsions for an enclosure would be, like do you need to have a certain sized gap around it?

I have a few animals in my room that’s the main reason I want to use a carbon filter and ventilation.
Or do you think I should put the printer in another room?

Thank you for your help.

@Hemlock nailed it. Only need carbon / exhaust for certain higher temp materials (ABS, ASA, Nylon, etc) for PLA its not necessary, but can stabilize the environment.

A cheap and easy to build enclosure for most Ender 3 size printers is the Ikea Lack Table enclosure. The table is almost the perfect size, and with the blocky structure makes it easy to convert to an enclosure. There are several tutorials online on how to make one and lots of files for the parts you need to print on thingiverse.com

Dang, I got some many questions!
How do I get my idea, to someone or someplace to be printed?
I’ve searched to see if I can buy my idea, did not fine it, so of course it’s worth billions, LOL!

What is your billion dollar idea then?

I bought an Elegoo Neptune 3 plus it’s pretty huge compared to the Ender 3 do you think the Ikea table thing will still work?

Thanks mate

No one will give 2 shits in this whole world about my weird project.
Just something I need to get out of my head.
I’ve cobbled a few hacks together, OTY’s, to make one sort of work, then borrowed, some ideas, off this and that. Now the smart folks are doing it.

Dunno the neptune 3 dimensions. If its bigger L x W maybe up to 300x300 bed, height wise you can always stack two lack tables, one upside down on the bottom, and another on top, and screw the legs together / connect them with a printed joiner.

the lack tables measure like 22 inches x 22 inches, x 20 tall or so.

It’s 320 x 320 x 400, I had a look online at the tables it’s a great idea. My step dad’s going to make me one.

Thanks for your help mate.

Printed a bracket for my camera and a self watering plant pot both from Thingiverse.

Nice! I am using that pot. It works OK, probably would be better if I used coco and added nutes to the water.

What did you use instead?

I’m only going to use this one to start my seedlings off.
